Darren-I know that when an EF lens is used with an APS-C camera there is a 1.6 crop factor. However I have seen videos that say that is also true of the R50 18-45 kit lens. I thought that with a lens designed to be used with the smaller sensor, ie the 18-45 kit lens, they were designed to be true to focal length and a crop factor was not involved. Can you clarify based on your experience with the R50?
A truely fabulous question! I have wondered this too with the RF-S lenses and their smaller elements - hmmmm
To get the equivalent field of view in 35mm ff terms, you have to *1.6 regardless if it is a ef or efs lens on crop sensor bodies. But there is not “crop” in the way that you only use part of the image circle as there is with ef. The efs is smaller and have smaller image circle. So it uses the whole image, but the image is smaller.
Hello, is the canon r50 compatible with the SPEEDLITE EL-100 flash?
The R50 has a proprietary hot shoe (called a multi function shoe) and is incompatible with traditional a hot shoe unless you purchase canons ADE1 Adapter. I’m not sure what the EL-100 has. Thanks for watching

The iPhone has lots of processing going on. Photoshop and Lightroom can help to bring out your images. Your first question is a statement. The 15-85mm is a versatile photography lens that happens to be good for video too. Have a look at joining the Canon M50
