    Love the video. I’m going to have to rewatch, but at first glance it seems I’ll need to start with square; for its ease of use for a dunce like me.
    I’ve already registered my DBA as a sole proprietorship, to do 3D scans of real estate.
    All I think I need is a website to show what a 3D looks like, and a way to take payments online or in person at the job site.
    Recurring monthly payments may become a things for clients that may need the use of the 3D digital twin for advertising their place. Which means I may need to pay for keeping those projects active with the program I use for the scans. But that’s IF.
    If so, how hard is it for square to handle monthly subscriptions of this type?
    FYI: I’ll be a one man operation for the time being.

    • @MerchantMaverick
      @MerchantMaverick  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Tatsymakisempyukaku! Square actually started offering a subscription payment option recently. Once you set up a Square account to start selling online, you can set up a subscription checkout link with Online Checkout to accept weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual payments from buyers - all from a single link. You can read more here: www.merchantmaverick.com/square-online-checkout-explained/

    i had my website on weebly and used square and it was perfect, but weebly was a lame interface, so i transferred to squarespace and none of my sales worked. found out square and squarespace dont talk (which is a fail of a name then tbh) so i switched to Stripe and i must say, compared to square it sucks. i have yet to see what good qualities it has. my first sale took over a week to process, and my subsequent ones take minimum 4days to process and then another x amount of days to deliver, and since im not sitting on an inheritance or anything i basically cant ship orders until weeks after theyve been placed, and i have to manually check and remember to handle each transaction. i cant manually transfer until ive moved $5000 through their platform? i cant even move $30 through their platform without getting a headache. does anyone have actual solutions or a flow to make this less stressful? it seems like every company wants a percent of money but none of them seem committed to making sure you get yours

      @@MerchantMaverick maybe it’s a mistake to read all the negative comments on Facebook . What I’ve noticed when I’ve visited art fairs here in Toronto is that square is popular with artists. I’ve asked them if they like it and if they get their money and they do. Since my blog is Wordpress I may go with square with woocommerce . I will have to subscribe with my home address though . Does square disclose that to people ? What I’d rather do is only give it to people if the prove with photos that artwork shipped damaged and they can ship it back to me or what some artists do is they just refund it at a loss . But I’m going to carefully plan how I package my art so that won’t happen and display videosnippete of my art as well as photos so they know what they are getting. As well as establishing a following on you tube which I’ll embed in my blog . I guess stripe can be an option too but I’m leaning towards square . I think 🤔💭💭

    • @MerchantMaverick
      @MerchantMaverick  Před 2 lety +1

      @@JanineMKartist Square shouldn't disclose that information (your home address) to customers on its site and you can customize invoices, etc.
      However, we do recommend considering getting a PO box and using that as your public address if you're seriously concerned about privacy. Shipping labels and such will still have the return address so customers will be getting your address when they order. That's true of PayPal, Amazon, etc.
      Also, in general, providing contact information and an address helps with credibility and gives customers a way to contact you, which can help reduce chargebacks. So having an address, an email, and even a phone number (maybe routed through Google phone so it's not your personal number) can be a good way to build trust and prevent issues down the line.

      Hi, yes the BBB reviews can look a bit scary. The alert at the top of the page explains that the Cash App, the consumer-based app, lacked the appropriate customer service care at the time it was launched, and it has now improved.
      We like to take a look at several types of review sites to get a better balanced overall picture so you can also check reviews at the app stores, which are all very good, as well as Trust Pilot: www.trustpilot.com/review/www.squareup.com
      Another thing to keep in mind that typically with BBB, there is a negativity bias, because the small percent of people having the issue report there. We hope this helps to alleviate some fears, but also that you find the best option for you! 😄

    I was thinking on using stripe to receive payments from clients by emailing them the invoice. But sadly stripe isn't available in my country. And in your video square also has that function but like you said it only works for USA only. So do you have any recommendations on what online payment tool I should use? Pretty lost tbh

      @@MerchantMaverick Hi! Thank you for responding. I am based in Peru! I was doing a bit of research and found that payoneer also has the invoice link function and my client wouldn't have to create an account, they could just click the link and fill their name + credit/debit card and the payment would be complete. But if you've any other suggestions I would highly appreciate them!

      @@renderllama7036 Payoneer is a great choice! We also encourage you to look into 2checkout. You can find our full review here: www.merchantmaverick.com/reviews/2checkout-review/. We hope this helps!
