  • On September 7th, 1945, military heads of the Western Powers were horrified by what they saw rumbling towards them along Charlottenburger Chaussee in central Berlin during the Victory Parade. Celebrating the end of the Second World War, the increasingly threatening Soviet Union unveiled its latest tank to the world: the IS-3 heavy tank. As these machines clattered down the parade route, a sense of consternation enveloped the representatives of the British, US, and French armies. What they saw was a tank with well-sloped and apparently heavy armor, a piked nose, wide tracks, and a gun at least 120 mm in caliber, and belonging to a future potential adversary. The IS-3 was clearly a serious potential threat to their own tank forces in any such conflict.

      Indeed; looks like a T-55 masked up for carneval. Honest, it doesn't look too bad for Hollywood purposes. And being a T-55, it doesn't break down before the shooting.

    At 1:53, looks like our T34 had an excellent shot trap under the mantlet, and to a lesser extent, the T43. Hope the hull roof was thick enough to give the crew adequate protection.

    Maybe it’s just me, but when you get to describing all the comparisons of various guns and the wide variety of ammunition you need to slow down your verbal delivery. You’re extremely articulate, but it’s impossible to focus or digest anything you’re describing at this point. Otherwise it’s an excellent video and your narration is fine....

      I (the editor) got it from this website called BioLogos, no idea what the site is actually about but I just Google searched "US Canada UK Flag" and that was the first satisfactory picture I saw. There is no grand vexillology conspiracy.

      It might be a T 34, T 44, or T 54 dressed up to look like a panther, due to the panthers road wheels look very similar to those previously mentioned tanks

    • @BOSs-1313

    Cool vid ,and with the Korean war WW3 could have broken out if MacArthur got his way to nuke the Chinese it would have been a terrible thing. What if the Russians didn't care and even though secretly they where involved in the Korean war they didn't have as many nukes as America had at the time would they have gone ahead and pushed the button one wonders but I'm happy to be in this timeline though things could be better cough, cough, dam covid crap.

    • @peterjones4180
      @peterjones4180 Před 3 lety +1

      The Truman administration would NEVER have nuked china, BECAUSE, both the FDR and Truman administrations had maneuvered to put Mao in control of China, just as FDR had deliberately put Stalin in control of central and eastern Europe.

      US also did not have enough nukes for important cities of USSR,let alone China and USSR.USSR's best option for nukes would be hitting the biggest and of highest importance targets in Europe,South Korea and perhaps Japan(still very limited number of targets,meaning only few key targets could be struck in those countries). Not to mention that delivering system was still based on bombers,further limiting the success of it. It would have been a truly an apocalypse non the less,as it would engulf the whole world without sparing anyone,far worse than WWII.
