#GlassCannonNetwork - Hry
I know I'm not the first to say this, but DAMN! Troy Lavallee is an EXCELLENT GM.
Check out Jared Logan on the Stream of Blood as well… another really great GM.
@@jamesthelimey1738 Jared is actually going to be running a long term Dungeons and Dragons game on the Glass Cannon Network, Noura is also going to be one of the players!
@Paul Gauthier Their styles are very different, but they’re both great. My favorite thing about Jared is how he essentially creates a story WITH the players. It’s great to watch. (On a related note, check out the books Play Unsafe and The Lazy Dungeon Master, if you haven’t already.)
Episodes like this remind me why I'm a Troy fan. Incredible, top notch GMing! Crazy how good he is at swapping from comedy to the lovecraftian horror stuff.
They really need to make a show that is JUST Call of Cthulhu
Of all the New Game Who Dis games so far, this is the one that deserves its own full time campaign. Marvel Super Heroes was good but this is better. Thanks for sharing your games with us.
As a forever GM I understand Troy and his conflicted emotions before every game. DMing is often truly demanding. If you can build up anxiety just by playing with your friends at your house, I can't imagine what Troy feels having to prep and run several games with different rules systems, and for different people (memorizing backstories and significant past events), and be cheerful, fast and creative to make it entertaining for an audience.
Having said so, I do hope for him to enjoy the experience more. He is terrific. His players also are. And the Naish already loves him. Don't go through this just to be looking back at it in the future thinking "I wish I had enjoyed it more at the time".
Troy's work in the Cthulhu games is incredibly evocative.
So good! I usually put on a Live Play to fall asleep to bit this entire series has instead kept me awake to see what happens next. FANTASTIC Keeper and wonderful players. Thank you!
So after watching this entire series, I'm finally ready to weigh in. Leo without a shadow of doubt is the goat, not only did he infiltrate and KO that butler by himself. He also got swallowed by an eldritch being, then still went balls to the wall and burned the whole mother to the ground. He started out so quiet and unassuming, but by the end he went over 9,000!!! Awesome series, all characters were memorable and as a watcher I felt invested in each of em. Even Shirley's abusive ass lolz!
Thanks Peter! Glad you enjoyed it.
So glad you all came back to finish this. Excellent job everyone!
I'd really really want to get my hands on the playlist that was used for this scenario! Totally fitting and atmosphere building!
I am lat to the party but have to say it: Troy NAILED the language of lovecraftian horror.
Welcome Bill!! Thanks for checking us out. Glad you're enjoying it!
This moment you start to see not only the characters but also the players loosing their sanity and doing the boldest actions without any second thoughts to what could be the consequences... I've had this king of experience in CoC before. Brilliant !!! XD
I am very impressed the Matthew's rendition of red leather yellow leather at about 1:15:15
Brought me right back to high school drama club
God it's so great when they get a Grant laugh lol
That was excellent. I found this while searching for CoC actual plays and noticed Becca and Noura among the players. (I follow The Calyx). Really well done. Great cast all around, and Troy, you have a real talent for balancing dramatic narrative and keeping the game moving with giving the players room to play. You've won me as subscriber. :)
Welcome Anthony and thanks for the message!
Troy...my man.. 👏👏👏
That was absolutely terrific, loved it! Would love to hear Troy's and the players in-depth thoughts about this run, wish they had just talked for a long while in the end there, haha.
Wonderful stuff. So many great quotables. "Straight out of the book!" might be my favorite GC quote of all time, right up there with "And I'm Razzmatazz..."
A cosmic horror break-in is far preferable to the normal kind. Cthulhu would never shit on your carpet.
Yay, spincters & Call Of Cthulhu; a match made in heaven.
Edit: I now realise those two statements seem at odds..
Seriously that was, from start to finish, from characters to keeper, one of the best around, excellent ending! 👏 keep up the great work 😎 🍻 🤘
So damn good.
Terrific roleplayers.
Have watched a lot of GCP and Joe and Matt are both very good at following others or driving the story and the ladies very impressive riffing off Troy and the boys who have been playing together forever.
Praise Log!
Little Sweeny Todd in there, Matthew?
I like the imagery of the dust-waste sickness jumping out of the leather penny sacks. Kinda reminds me of the "Hoover flag," those outstretched empty pockets. Talk about Great Depression. And the rich get richer! Great performance, dames and jawns.
WOW, I loved this. I started the glass cannon podcast not so long ago, and when I caught up on Giantslayer I immediately grabbed a patreon subscription so I could listen to the Raiders of the Lost Continent, and I love that too. At first I was skeptical of new game who dis, because I don't like trying new things lol. But I was introduced to Call of Cthulhu by a group of my buddies and we now play every Wednesday, so I figured I'd give this a try. This was so amazing. I would up my patreon to $10 a month for a full campaign in the Call of Cthulhu system. Absolutely amazing. I love Troy and I love the guys at the GCP, and if you're reading this, please give us more Call of Cthulhu.
Side note: Thank God Dizzy is still alive.
Thoroughly enjoyed this! This seriously needs to be an ongoing series on the channel! You guys are great, and Troy is a fantastic DM! More please!
Great group for this encounter shame it had to end....lol
I really want to see a full season of this - Androids and Aliens is coming to a close, this could be the new show!
This was amazing! I'm glad you had so much fun with it.
Definitely my favourite series of New Game Who Dis, thanks guys for this amazing entertainment, you’re simply the best! Cheers!
This was SO tense! Incredible job from everybody.
OMG - This was a super stellar amazing ending 🥰🤩 Standing ovation to all of you - Ty ty so much for an amazing and fun adventure in the world of HP Lovecraft 🥰🥰
Used to live near Prospect Park, and can comfirm occasional creepy vibes at Prospect. Though usually it was more like aggro yuppies with double-wide strollers taking up the whole sidewalk, than dust mummies.
I hate that I've never actually run or played CoC. I'm pushing 50, and as a senior in HS I read two out of three volumes of HP Lovecraft's full published works. (I got distracted by Asimov's first two volumes of his Autobiography. None of those tomes were small by any stretch of the imagination.) I was taking library science as an elective my senior HS year*. I'd already torn through everything in certain 'weird', 'supernatural', and mythical that the shelves had to offer, both in my HS library and in the local public library. When I went to college, 2nd ed. D&D was faltering, White Wolf was ascendant, CoC was an outlier, even then, but appreciated. I wanted to play CoC, but the players I had available to me were not keen, and even though I bought the 5th ed, and "Horror on the Orient Express" my dream never quite realized. I ended up adding Cthulian elements to WoD stuff before they were even doing it obviously (HELLO Tzimisce!).
Realistically, the closest to CoC I got was Palladium's "Beyond the Supernatural". Not the same. :) Not saying I didn't LOVE the ex-IRA sniper psychic healer character I played, at one point running point with a flashlight duct taped to the rifle muzzle and a crucifix dangling at the end of the flashlight, just not the same.
Yes. The most 'combat ready' character was a psychic healer. That's how that game could go.
(*My senior year I only needed a passing grade in 'English', as they called it. Lit and analyzation of such. My other classes were all technically electives. Spanish II, Physics, Library Science, Computer Science, and Trig. The only homework I did my senior year was for my English class. I got A's and B's across the board. And that was sucking at the practical labs for physics. Left me with a LOT of time to read, write, and dabble with a lot of SSI D&D games, TORG, and a horde of 1st ed. modules that I bought off a neighbor for cheap.)
Are you me? I still have my CoC books from high school, only ever played a few of the short intro scenarios with reluctant cousins (once after dark while camping out in a tent, so that at least was cool). Still hoping to get a group into it one day.
Call of Cthulhu, where every game/campaign is a one shot…. 😏
I’d up my Patreon for a full length campaign of this
Definitively worth watching!
Thanks!
As a D&D player I finally understand what makes CoC great. In D&D that would have been just a boss monster.... Here it is utter and total horror. I have not been entertained with horror this well in years!
Troy is the master
Penelope "If you take away poor people's human rights I'll make sure your body ignites" Keen
This was so awesome. Make this a regular!
Troy really is a treasure!!! xD
YEEEESSS!!!
LET CTHULHU RISE ONCE AGAIN!
Amazing and such cool cosmic horror. I love it and we need a long series on this.
Wowza. Gripped my pillow and chair armrest with this one. Well done!!
Late to the party on this mini-campaign (just binged all of the episodes) and I have to say this was one of the best online games I’ve ever seen! Amazing group! Wonderful Keepering (Dming? Keeping?)! Thank you everyone involved!!!
Top quality content
I gotta say Noura really cracked me up a lot. "Dis ain't gonna be fixed with leeches." Absolutely hilarious.
I binge watched all the sessions, super great job everybody! And of course now I have to play Call of Cthulhu again.
What a grand finale, amazing work from everyone. This has been one of GCNs best work 👏
Such an absurdly great run!!! WTG you guys and gals :D
Congratulations Joe!!
Man what a conclusion! Bravo! The tension and madness was high throughout, and I had no idea what the ending would be like or just how bad it would get. Ultimately, I'm glad that the GCN liked playing this game because I can only hope that they will find the time to play it again at some point. The cast did a phenomenal job (Noura and Becca always bring their A game to CoC) and while certain characters are likely not going to return, I have full faith that the boys and girls at GCN can come up with even more fun investigators if they come back to play more Call of Cthulhu.
I LOVE Becca's inner chaos demon !
Looks like preston has hungry mouths to feed after this ;D
I see what you did there. 😀
This has been so epic!
PLEASE DO ANOTHER!!!! So so so good. I have bought the starter set and plan to learn the system.
Was arson as common in the 1920s as Call of Cthulhu scenario endings make it seem?
Seeing that picture of Troy without a hat broke my brain for a second.
That was so good!
"You have to roll under your current jawn, dude!"
What an exciting finale. Our poor heroes! And meanwhile the rich get richer.
Welcome to home ownership Joe. Wait until the water heater goes for the first time.
Thats was cool hopefully one day i can be this good
Troy tried so hard to kill Joe, but those low rolls lol... and then he just kills him in a cut scene instead.
2:16:00 Welcome, Shirley. Welcome... to HALF-LIFE!
39:43 This is still less fucked up than the Skull and Bones society.
I hope either COC or World of darkness gets home here at the GCP!
None of them even had a little victory, except for rescuing the girl. That's depressing.
Delta also has the ginger biscuits.
I’m gonna miss the Hooverville Hobo Heroes
Nice
Team Kukri here
Honestly, I'm going to throw all my money at chaosium after this
Us too.
Anyone know where I can find episode 4?
Congrats on the house Joe!! Welcome to hell. :)
More call of Cthulhu! More wh40k rpg!
I was terrified but we just did 20 phish shows. Were vaxed and wore masks the whole time. Packed in with 20,000 people for weeks on end. We quarantined for 2 weeks when we got back and got a covid tests after quarantine. If you take precautions sanitize all the time don't share anything with anyone. You should be good.
Joe O'Brien bought a house in THIS kind of home ownership market?!? Hope you're not expecting an appreciating return down the road for at least a decade or so...
Believe it or not, some people buy a house to obtain long term, stable housing.
It's almost like he wants to live in it for a long while
Great gaming cast and story telling, but Becca tends to dominate the game while Noura and Matthew are very quiet.
What scenario is this?
