- DMart started in India in 2002 , today the brand is at 336+ supermarkets in India but after covid the DMart financials are as not before that is due to competition by Tata group of companies in apparel and grocery market through Zudio and Star bazaar . The brand is lacking in productivity in per square feet area and only focusing on expansion of stores. This can kill the business in longterm . In this video episode we have discussed it in details. DMart is a boon for general public- it has a wide variety in required categories. Also home delivery is a major factor for seniors and busy people. Clothes and bedsheets are of good quality. Nobody wants to show off by purchasing branded items as majority of people are wise and spend judiciously

May be Tata is a huge business name. But their service at Croma is ver poor. I am senior citizen of 76 years old and living alone. I bought a mixie cum fruit jucier from the Croma Park Street store in October 2023 and took a 4 years service warranty. I have spoken to the service personal 8 times and have written 2 emails but no redressel till now. The same answer is we are very sorry for your problem, that's all. I went to croma thinking that its a Tata brand but sad to say their service is extremely poor.
Never trust any store warranty. You can trust individual brands.

Good attempt at explaining the two Sir. But, you did not mention / compare one v imp factor due to which DMART has a natural advantage... Real Estate... DMART owns its own stores... DOES NOT RENT them... that's why they not only stay afloat but even thrive in crisis like scenarios such as COVID Pandemic.. while their competition like FBB got killed bcoz of factors like rent, overheads, salaries; in almost zero demand market !!

D mart is best as compared to tata. I get so much big discount in dmart which I never expect from tata stores. Even dmart do not charge any freight for collection of items while tata store charges freight for delivering items. Tata ka star bazaar bahut hi mehnga hai aur Ghar Tak mal pahunchane ke 150 rupye lete Hain par dmart koi charges nahi leta
Dmart ka home delivery ka kuch charges nahi hai - ye statement galat hai. At least Pune mein dmart flat 49 rs charge karta hai home delivery ka. Dusre cities ke pata nahi.

Sir, tata की nano 1 Lakh nahi 2,10,000 की onroad आती थी, उस समय alto 2,60,000 की onroad थी। Public prefer alto कारण है more stong AC, power and space.
Dmart store में once a week जाता हु, कपड़ो का colour bakwas hota hai, shirts apko ऐसी मिलेगी जो सस्ती होगी मगर looks में घटिया होंगे। Jackets bhi 2nd hand लगती है देखने से। Obviously लोगो की choice dmart wale samajh nahi paa rahe hai. If u keep good looking trousers भले थोड़ा costly ho, public जरूर खरीदेगी। Zudio ke cloth looks me टीक ठाक है but they have different varieties.
1. You are not considering the real estate growth. D mart jagaha khud kharid te hai.
2. D Mart ka Customer base huge hai, Jo star Bazaar ya Zudio ke paas nahi hai
3. D Mart ka customer base sirf Mass nahi balki Middle class bhi hai
4. Inflation ki vajah se profits Kam ho sakte hai. Kuch products pe pricing badha ke use maintain bhi kiya ja sakta hai. As a consumer hame 5000 products ki pricing yaad nahi rehti comparison ke liye. Us cheej ka fayda D Mart le sakta hai.
5. D Mart ke locations selection kafi jabardast hai jaha Zudio ya Star Bazaar abhi tak pohcha nahi hai.
D Mart ne itne bade Brand Big B ko khatam kiya Star Bazaar ya Zudio kya karega uske samne. 🙂

D mart is fundamentally strong, coz real estate, they own their own stores, inflation is only temporary phenomena, they will bounce back strong, but honestly speaking don't risk buying d mart share, it's way too overvalued
Service, ambience, store display and price makes all the difference for the customers. Perception matters but ignored by all and one day pays heavily for not appointing properly paid professionals.

हमें इस जू डियो का तो नहीं पता वैसे भी वह costly लगती है लेकिन dmart में irritation तो होती है ग्रोसरी वाला और कपड़े वाला एक ही काउंटर पर भीड़ हो जाती है, दोनो section को अलग अलग कर देना चाहिए।

मैं पिछले 15 साल से dmart का कस्टमर हूँ। DMart का कोई competitor नहीं है आज के समय। और न ही अगले 10 - 15 साल तक होगा। Dmart का customer base दिनों दिन बढ़ता जा रहा है।
Issue with with Dmart is they open late.
Near to my house we have both Dmart and metro cash and carry ( now owned by reliance). Dmart opens at 10 am and metro opens at 6 am .We all buy everything from metro because it suits our time though I am a heavy investor in Dmart.
Dmart should open at 6 am that can increase their revenue

I don't think both can be compared, in long term you don't know wheather zudio will run or not but D-mart will continue in nongrossary section also because they are providing day to day life clothing while zudio is providing fashion clothes, don't know people will continue to buy zudio on long run
