I am building the bowie knife for a benefit giveaway. I forget it from a G-wiz and use an antler for handle. #bowie #bowieknife #bladesmith #blacksmith
Hey Justin! THAT is a good looking knife... and worthy of the cause that you are donating it for! "BIG SAM" will certainly be appreciated by whoever is fortunate enough to win the drawing
Justin, I am amazed at your talent in making these knives. Every knife making video provides an insight into the process that you use in the knife build. You always do a great job explaining to the viewers your thoughts on each of the steps. But most importantly, you build these knives the way that you want to build them and the outcome is excellent. This Bowie knife project is going to be a lot of fun and I encourage you to document it well on your channel. Thanks so much for working so hard to keep the great video content coming. Have a blessed weekend. (Note - My handmade black walnut handled, Spirit of the Outdoors knife with sheath is still my overall favorite fixed blade. I carry it often and many folks ask me about it. I always point them to your channel.)
I enjoy watching you build those things. Looks really good! I should have thought about that heating trick before I did the drilling. Thanks for that tip.
Gee Whiz steel is some fine, fine knife steel. It's designed to hold up to a 1500 pound mule pulling his heart out and hitting a stump or boulder and not snap or take a permanent bend. You can't beat it.... Coffee does a good job darkening up a bleached out antler.... Whoever wins this pig sticker is gettin a good blade
Listen to this guy talking about charcoal. I ve been a blacksmith 36 years and if coal is hard to procure, make it. There s nothing better, excellent characteristics. Does an excellent job forge welding.
This is a great 41:38 cause for you to donate and draw off this knife there,eh! Hope u do well auctioning off this knife good luck... thanks for sharing
Nice job on that Bowie! I hadn't thought about a Gee Whiz in forever. Most folks have no idea what that is. Too bad all the meth heads sold all the scrap metal a few years back. Old plows and implements used to be laying around everywhere. You coulda had a good supply to forge with.
I watched this whole video because you said Brody was going to open his package?? I love to see him get excited. When are you going to start selling chances on the knife?
