Thanks for the message Raymond you sent me on the Suzuki Jimny Owners post for the transfer case sound I asked about mate. It has saved me a great deal of time and headache finding a diagnosis/solution for the 'Jimny Fart" 🤣... I bought the Jimny Lite in manual and I'm loving it. The sound itself doesn't bother me. We use to call these things "personality" in the 70's. Possibly why I love the Jimny so much. Back to basic great fun motoring with enough tech to satisfy a newer generation... I can't understand why some people claim the Jimny is "slow"?? I've had WRX's, V8 Commodores and a string of Japanese and Italian sports bikes and still feel the Jimny is perfectly adequate in the power department. I just think people have become spoilt with 'torque" and don't know how to drive a small displacement naturally aspirated engine. If you drive it like you mean it, it's a incredible fun and as you said. it makes a perfect 1-2 persons, all round vehicle that will take you anywhere.
Hi thanks for the support , and I agree 100% , if you keep the weight down on the Jimny , and choose the right accesories it has more than enough grunt👍
thank you for your video. long time ago in the 80's my dad had the SJ series. last few weeks i bought the JB74W JC 2019 auto Black Japan Specs and surprised my dad, due to its old classic box design, it was nostalgic to him.. and to me too. i will take care of it for as long as i live, a little camping here and there will do. no heavy 4x4 shit
Congrats great choice👍🏻
Hello Mr.
Firstly, I would like to thank you for your reports and responses on this CZcams
I'm from Brazil... preparing my retirement after 42 years of work.
In my youth, in the 80s, I had a Toyota Bandeirantes (in Brazil this was the name given to the 1st Land Cruiser). I did the maintenance myself.
Decades have passed... 4x4 vehicles are no longer produced in Brazil (we had a multitude of excellent manufacturers of 4x4 vehicles, military and civilian). The result is that we have to import 4x4 cars, paying the price of gold (in Brazil, in direct conversion, I paid US$ 32,000.00 for a Jimny JB74 manual transmission).
Preparing for my retirement I bought a Jimny JB74 Sierra 1.5 L (K15B engine).
I would like to know where I can get a service manual for the Jimny JB74 so I can maintain it (I plan to keep it for 20 years)
Thank you very much in advance for CZcams
Regards!

@@justjimny Dear Mr. Raymond! Tank you very much. That's an excelent material. Tank you very much. Regards from Brazil!
Always enjoy your videos, particularly your real world comparisons of aftermarket choices. Moving from Las Vegas USA to Philippines next month and my FIRST purchase will be a Jimny. Sounds ridiculous, but I even have a few interior bits I've already purchased (Amazon) in my luggage ready for immediate install.😁
You are making the right choice , they are amazing little cars.
@Cuddly Cat Will do , thanks for the support👍
Best car for the Philippines, i am the happy owner of one. and the waiting time is reduced since they started to import them from india instead of Japan.
@@JeanMichelHermann Great news that the waiting period is less now👍
Hi, glad I registered to your channel. Actually writing from Europe, northern france ( 51°2’ N) . Very interesting to see what you guys living in the bush are doing with Jimnies; mine is to be delivered early in march 2023 and your videos are giving me loads of ideas . Thanks for that
I thank you for the support , glad we can help out fellow Jimny drivers.
Hi. Thank you for a honest review. Good to see your support of the local industry.
Hi Gerrit , I try and support local companies where I can , I think companies like Des Sol is doing great work , and they are fellow Jimny drivers that understand how accesories needs to be developed for Jimnies , my only gripe with their suspension is those Safari shocks that are really old technology , and cant come close to the comfort and dampening that the new foamcell shocks provide.
@@justjimny Interesting to hear about the engine performance with the raised air intake, does the strange noise effect manual and autos, is rust becoming an issue underneath? ln England our Jimny is showing rust on a lot of components underneath and more worryingly inside the chassis box sections, there doesn't appear to be any corrosion protection anywhere.
@@clooperman3745 Hi , the Jimny faet sound is on the auto and manual , with the rust issue , I never had any rust issues with any of my Jimnies but we also dont live close to the ocean. Think the best advice if you live close to the ocean and drive on beaches ect , would be to wash your chasis as often as possible and add some protection like lanolin to the chasis .
Following your videos and they are awesome 👌
5 door version has been unveiled in India and will be launched soon, have already booked and will be an owner of the lil beast in near future 😀
❤️ Love from India🇮🇳
Congrats and welcome to the Jimny family. Thank you for the support and I hope you share our videos with other Jimny drivers that have questions.
@@justjimny Definitely 😊
Love watching your reviews etc, informative & good viewing
Thank you for the support👍
Thank you for your honest review. More power to your channel!
Thanks Harry👌
Great review, really enjoy your channel, its my go to.
Ditto on the Frontrunner rack, lost the sticker in exactly the same spot!
Glad to know that odd rumble is not just me, had Buddy for 6 months now & it worried me. Any issues with the clutch. I tend to find that I need to rev a bit on take-off otherwise I can get a shudder....
already
Very informative and straightforward.
Thanks a lot 👏👏👏
Thanks for the support👍
We went to test-drive the Jimny GLX yesterday and was super impressed with this addictively cute little 4x4, so we placed our order too. Waiting list here at Suzuki Alberton is about 3 months but that is ok, we are not in a hurry at all. I am busy working through all your videos now anyway doing my homework properly. Thank you so much for the many reviews of all the after-market upgrades one could get here. The tuff dog suspension kit will be our most important and first upgrade too. And I have taken notice of all the other tips you share too. It is so easy to overdo things if you are new at this. Just one question my wife actually asked me yesterday. Where is a good place up here in Jozi area or about where we both could go for just basic offroad 4x4 driving training specifically for the Jimny? I do have a lot (30 plus years) of 4x4 driving experience but most of that was work related, this is for fun so very different. She has none but we both are super keen to learn the correct way to do this properly with a Jimny. We are definitively not 4x4 trail bucket-list hunters but if a obstacle crosses our way forward I think I do have enough 4x4 skills to take it on safely. Proper rustic bush camping is our thing to get away and most of that you do need 4x4 driving skills and the right vehicle too to get there. Hince our decision to get this specific vehicle and do more of the off-road thing before we get too old for the bush.
Ok thanks I found someone (Ryno Cloete) that does Jimny 4x4 training at De Wildt - Perfect!
Yes I reccomend Ryno to everybody that wants training , we have been 4x4 friends for years , he provides a great training experience that helps new Jimny driver alot.
Hello. Good review. I recommended generar grabber at 3. A little bit similar but definitely better on the wet. But it’s great project ;)
Thanks for sharing!
Great video. Keep up the great way.
Thanks for the support👍
Informative as always. What would you say your maximum load on the roof rack is and do you always keep it on?
Hi Chilli , I wont load more than 40kg on the roofrack , thus while overlanding , all light items that take up alot of space goes on the roof rack , like camping chairs , wood ect.
Thanks for your video Ray, enjoy the info. Question: would you fit wheel spacers on your Jimny and if so what width....? I use vehicle for town and offroad and dont want to affect basic vehicle but I have been told this stabilises the ride. Just back from 3500km trip - all went well and i must say we spend about 8 to 10 hours per day driving with absolute comfort, my wife has serious back problems and feels nothing in the Jimny for 10 hours - fantastic. Reason for spacers is really just the sway when going over rough terrain....but not sure if spacers will help. I have Tough Dog 40mm and BF Goodrich 215s fitted. By the way one of the best fits was an 80 liter petrol tank....has been absolutely brilliant, and off road - at "bird watching speed" (40 to 80km/hr) can do well over 800km on tank. Thanks again.
Thank you fot the support. On wheel spacers , I am not a great fan because they create another possible point of failure between the wheel and the hub , thus when they are fitted you need to check them regularly to make sure they are still torqed correct , especially when someone worked on your jimnies wheels , like when rotating tyres , if they are not tight you stand a chance to lose a wheel while driving. The roofracks do have an effect on sway , so if you dont use it for loading extras , rather take it off or do as I did and make it a half rack that improves fuel consumption , performance and much less sway in windy conditions. If you still want to load your roofrack , look at air helpers that can firm up your suspension more for heavy loads , and last look at wheel spacers from Des Sol , they just sell one size and are made of the right materials.
@@justjimny thank you for the info and suggestions.
Buen video!! De acuerdo contigo, tambien estoy feliz con mi Jimny!!
Gracias por el apoyo
Hi. Im very much enjoying your videos. Thanks for the good work.
I'm seriously considering getting myself a Jimny. I have a GQ Patrol now.
I was wondering if you have any experience or thoughts on high altitude driving. I'm living in South America in a little Town 3000 meters above sea level. So i just wantet to know hoy the Jimny would do with the 1.5l engine.
Thanks again for the great videos. 👍🏼👍🏼😃
The GQ patrol is a very capable 4x4 , if you can live with the much smaller space of the Jimny , and taking on less extreme obstacles ( you will have to spend quite alot on extras to make it as capable as the patrol) . Jimnies currently hold the record for high altidude driving so that should not be a problem. Thank you for the support👍
Nice review. Waiting to do a lot of stuff to mine.
Great keep us updated on your progress👍
@@justjimny do you have a possibility to compare a tough god suspension and OME, would be interested to watch
@@oleksiimailman I will have to have a look around , if anybody has fit an OME suspension in ZA , since the OME is even more expensive than Tough Dog , I really think there wont be a big differance between the 2 , and even the new Ironman suspension.
I just wanted to know if your tough dog suspensions came with adjustable settings for different road conditions. And how do they perform on road?
Mine does not have the adjustable shocks , but you can get them , must say handling on road and off road has improved 200% from the standard suspension , less body roll and provides a nice firm ride thats not too hard at all , even with heavy loads the ride is amazing👍
Can you upgrade your suspension without loosing the guarantee? Thanks for all the informative movies.
Hi Pateick , in South Africa Suzuki does not have a problem with suspension upgrades , they are even in process to get the Tough Dog suspension fully Suzuki approved as an option when you buy a new Jimny.
Love the review, with the TD suspension upgrade did you add castor correctors or just the std suspension upgrade pack
Thank you for the support. No need for castor correction on 40mm lift.
@@justjimny Thanks a mill :)
Great video. Thanks !!
Very informative wish you the best journey. does the manual have more leg room than the automatic? Is it worth adding a super charger on it?
No differance in leg room between the 2 . If you fit the right accesories and dont over burden the Jimny stuff like superchargers and turbos that effect reliability are really not required , if you want a street racer go buy a Honda Civic🤣
How tall are you? I’m 1.8m and booked the Jimny manual. Are you comfy behind the wheel? Is there adequate space for the legs?
I am 1.95m , and I am very comfortable in the Jimny. My friend that also owns the Gen4 is 2.05m and even he is comfortable in it.
Hello Raymond .
I am looking for seat covers for my Jimny .
Which brand did you buy ?
Hi hi , I fitted Takla seat covers on mine , really good fit and quality .
Thanks. Very informative
Thank for the support
Hello, great video!
I wanted to ask if the upgraded BFs that you have, did they effect the power in terms of day to day urban drives? I.e do they slow down the vehicle?
Any help would be appreciated
Kind regards
Pranav
The 215/75R15 , really did not feel a change in performance or fuel consumption.
6:11 where you get the rubber mat please share a link thank you
Those are availible from Suzuki Dealerships.
Good fitment with the 215/75's? No speedometer issues? No rubbing with stock suspension?
No issues at all on stock suspension.
Hi, Please Advise...!?
Does your ToughDog Suspension Increase the GVM Rating, can you Load more in your Jimmy?
Yes it does increase the GVM , TD does have even higher rated coils for heavier loads as well , but they dont import those to South Africa.
Are the BF tires adequate for asphalt roads? Since you said they are slippery.
They are a bit slippery on wet tar roads , so depending on the type of weather you have , make that choice. Thats the main concern with BFs , but there are other choices like Maxxis that perform better in wet conditions.
Hi. One last question. I just bought my jimny and planning to put the 40mm TD suspension on. Do you think the Des sol 30mm spacers will make a difference? Thanks Patrick
First try out the TD , I really dont like spacers they add another potential point of failure and can cause problems if not managed and maintaind well.
Do those seats covers block the side airbag release?
The South African Jimnies dont have side airbags in the seats.
Hi. Did you buy the back rubber mat at suzuki? Thanks Patrick
Hi Patrick , yes those mats are Suzuki oem products , give a few dealerships a call to hear if the have stock👍
Hi, you don't mension your throttel controller. Are you happy with it?
Hi Chris , yes the throttle controller slippe my mind during the video , still very happy with it , and we have 3 dedicated videos for it.
Can you please record and upload the noise from the transfer case? Thanks 🙏
Will try and do that when I get a chance
Can you please send the link for the seat covers

Love your video's. I'm a newbie and just received my Jimny 5 says ago. Learning a lot on your channel. Thanks so much for all your info. I just changed my tyres to Good Year AT 215/75/R15. I have the brand new tyre's with a 100 km available. Anybody know where I can advertise them? Thanks Nicky
Hi Nicky glad we could help you out , post those stock tyres on FB lots of guys interrested in them , I sold mine to the tyre dealership when I fitted my BFs.
Not on FB anymore 😕

Sorry forgot to mention I do have the original Dunlop Grand Trek 195/80/R15 tyres that is still brand new that is for sale I baught my Jimny 5 days ago and I changed the tyres to Good Year AT wranglers. So the new Dunlops are for sale.
Hi I see you have little wrt underbody protection. Only Rick sliders and radial cup. Why is this. Pleas share your thinking and order of importance i would think the front an rear dif and transfer case is important to protect
Hi Hennie , with the 215 tyres I dont gain enough ground clearance to fit diff protectors , I would say you at least need 235 tyres to fit those . Transfercase protector would be nice to have for rockier trails , but I have not seen one I want to fit yet. With a bit of careful driving you can get away with it , but accidents do happen , and its always better to be safe than sorry , I am keeping an eye out for new developments.
@@justjimny Des Sol just introduced their underbody protectors. Already ordered mine. I however dont understand why you say that there is not enough ground clearence for diff protectors on 215 bf's🤔
@@chriskirchner9365 Look at Auto vs manual test , Derek got caught up on his diff protectors alot and he has 215/80R15 tyres.
@@justjimny i see what you mean, so you recommend 235/80/15? Do you know what make diff proctectors Derek has installed. Hopefully Des Sol's diff protectors will work fine. I hope🤔
Chris , Derek has the Suzuki diff protectors , but you really need to go extreme off road to justify 235's and diff protectors .
Hi, what sort of fuel consumption are you getting on the open road?
Getting about 12Km per liter
Very good information but the sequence of explanation is not very impressive. As a cool headed presenter, you are remarkable.
Great thanks for the feedback , will try and work on it👍
How tall are you?
I am 1.95cm🤣
Roof can only bear 30 kg, Slimline is 27 Kg...so you can't put anything on it. Such a fuck up of Suzuki !
Its because the Jimny has a ladder chasis and the body sits much higher on the chasis making it top heavy , addind to that is the narrow wheel track , all these make the Jimny a great off roader. A rooftop tent in my opinion is really not a great option for overlanding in anycase , since it has bad aerodynamics , you have to close it everytime you want to go for a drive , its high off the ground so falling off the ladder is a massive risk , and its really not much safer than a ground tent , so why do you want one??? I wont even consider a rtt on any other vechile just because of the above mentioned gripes I have. They do work well on trailers though. Roofracks on a Jimny you can pack up to 40kg , then you start feeling thats its top heavy and starts swaying.
@@justjimny I am not even thinking of a roof tent but after you put the roof rack onto the Jimny, officialy it can only carry 3 kg. The 30 kg is the official max roof weight you may carry, the frontrunner roof rack is 27 kg ....
@@pim1234 So roof rails are an option , depending on what you want to carry on your roof.
Girls in front of you very bored LOL
Cant keep everybody happy🤣
