  • I'm obviously not a professional mechanic, so take this advice at your own risk. I also firmly believe that Dodge hates
mechanics because of the way they build their stuff.. That being said, I hope this helps someone. I searched for a while and couldn't find a single video with the mechanical blend door. Feel free to comment with questions.

    Dude, you're are the man!
You saved me so much time and money that I don't have. I cut a small section behind my glove box and used a big screwdriver to move the white arm to the cold side so my a/c blows cold now. I appreciate you so much for the video and your time to show me this shortcut. It took me less than 30 minutes. You are a genius!!

awesome video, this is a good fix for rams with mechanical blend doors, I believe they changed to electronic in 99, also if you have a dash that's intact ( which us 2nd gen owners prob dont ) you can access this through the glove box!

Use some washers at the top between the white plastic and the black body. Then replace the screw.

Nice, going to give this a try, thanks! I probably wouldn't have to take the dash apart though, it's already in 100 pieces.

I actually did end up replacing the top dash plastic on this truck because it was also in 100 pieces lol

Hoping someone can help, I had the wire slipping on mine like in the video but when I adjusted the arm I still don’t have heat. My heater core is roughly 7 years old so not ancient but not brand new. I couldn’t get the rod to move from underneath but I pulled my dash and manually moved the arm. Any suggestions as to what to look into? Any tips would be much appreciated

I would try flushing your heater core, probably got something in it

If anyone ever put stop leak in there it definitely could have plugged up the heater core as JD said. If that doesn't fix it, let us know!

@@jdhappy7663 well if y’all are curious it’s currently in the shop for it right now. Issue I’ve had for going on 3 years now this being the 4th winter. I’ve definitely neglected the issue but I had the issue shortly after flushing my heater core. That could be a problem but it’s not the problem. So I will post back if this shop finds my issue, because I gave up trying to figure it out.

@@riskwithoutreward8148 I would highly appreciate you telling me whatever they figure out. I keep having no heat problems with multiple gens of the truck. Fixed one with core flush for a short period of time. Would appreciate your info though.
