Spooner (Will Smith) is attacked by an army of robots on the road.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Director Alex Proyas (Dark City, The Crow) helmed this sci-fi thriller inspired by the stories in Isaac Asimov's nine-story anthology of the same name. In the future presented in the film, humans have become exceedingly dependent on robots in their everyday lives. Robots have become more and more advanced, but each one is preprogrammed to always obey humans and to, under no circumstances, ever harm a human. So, when a scientist turns up dead and a humanoid robot is the main suspect, the world is left to wonder if they are as safe around their electronic servants as previously thought. Will Smith stars as Del Spooner, the robot-hating Chicago cop assigned to the murder investigation. Bridget Moynahan, Bruce Greenwood, James Cromwell, and Chi McBride also star.

Honestly one of the most bad ass movie scenes of all time.
It is a cool action sequence but thinking about The underlying message of the scene. I figured out what it really means, Will smith plays detective spooner in the film. Smiths character feels this robot system has glitched robots that murdered a doctor in other victims. The system probaly knows this but the powers at be are covering the truth/murders up. Smith character spooner is hard on the case, questions himself about the case but. Spooner keeps finding evidence and hunches something very, suspicious is going on involving the i robots. Let me ask this what has happened to a lot of people in reality that have tried to uncover the real truths about the systems, laws, policies, conspiracies and secrets of today and yesterday?. Well either that person will be punished, name slandered, controlledx disappear, or even killed. This is whats hapoening to Smiths character in this scene the system that spooner lives under is trying to kill him. Simy because his character is gunning for the truth behind the lies and promises of a better world. See Smiths character is the whistle blower in this movie, and a lot of whistleblower are in unfortunate circumstances because the powers are also on to them. Thus I robot movie is art imitating life to no end. Its funny because some people are blind to this, you really have to break down the scenes in movies to understand the subliminal message. I mean the evil robots say you are experiencing "A car accident". When the man was fine at first.
"he was resisting arrest" "he was armed." etc.

+Christian Sims I suppose you have a point but the reason Spooner or Smith's character doesn't like the robots is because one saved him in that car accident instead of saving the 12 year old girl because he had a higher chance of survival.
ToxicObject, yes thats what he didn't understand, It made Spooner question the I robots decision. So this whole case stems in his perspective, stems from a lot of distrust, biast against the robots.
I can't believe you didn't add the tension build-up part, that "slow" pace truck appearing, along with that low beat drum music is an ART in itself! The action didn't even start, but my heart was already racing when I first saw it! "BUM-t-t-BUM-t-t-BUM-t-t-BUM-t-t-BUM-t-t-BUM-t-t!"

Is it just me that thinks that these robots were perfectly designed for combat/fighting/jumping and running extreme distances? Compare the NS-5 to the NS-4: the older bots were very stiff and not very flexible, and although they could run faster than most people they couldn't jump or survive falling from tall heights. The NS-5's however are so super-human it's crazy. It's like they were designed from the *beginning* to be able to fight mankind. I just find it odd that they had the perfect design to take over the world. It's even stranger that Dr. Lanning designed them to be that way; obviously he made Sonny different from the rest but all of the other NS-5's are almost complete duplicates, capable of extreme circumstances. Something to think about while watching the movie, there's lots of little things like that scattered about that are fun to notice and ponder on.
DragonRebelRose maybe he intended for sonny to be a one off prototype and the CEO or vicki had him make more of them

I like how this scene is like a boss stage of a game. When he enters the tunnel, the surrounding becomes clear and quite. Then suddenly 2 large things approaches you, the boss song starts to play and you know shit's about to go down.
