I have conservative family members too. I also tried with them and it didn’t work either.
The next generation is going to be so much more emotionally stable because of us. We’re the pioneers of a better world, I believe that.

It is what it is , nothing you did wrong , nothing you can do to fix it , you can’t please everyone and if doing so means you’re not yourself then the relationship isn’t worth saving. If it’s too hard then focus on making the easy relationships work.
It’s not easy cutting ties with your family. I had to cut ties with my parents and sister because of how toxic they were. All I can say is that it takes time to heal but I now realize that I made the right choice. Wishing you the best.

After the trauma you have been through, plus it’s been 15 years without them, then I don’t think they’re worth it. Plus what your mother have to say about this?? That’s not ok at all.

Better than I, When I had realisation that I was an adult doing stuff for free & getting shouted at for something I was volunteered for, for a relative I didn’t actually get along with - I just left & went to watch Star Wars in the cinema
