😂😂😂 the funniest line ever heard
“Are we still friends?” Sorry but I feel like the main character of this episode didn’t get enough screen time.
So who wants to see Will do a series where he visits all the Blue Zones?
That would be sweet
At first, I honestly thought an American blue zone would be boring and weird. Don't get me wrong, some parts are. But I want to learn Everything they do at that vegan restaurant. I am here for that today. 🙄 I _guess_ I want to see cultural comparisons in other countries? But I'm mostly in it for the food. And I want to see some surprisingly old bodybuilders, but I prolly won't. 😏
It would deffo be healthy yes, but I seriously doubt the sweet part 🤔
Sounds hood

Fun facts about Regina (5:24):
• 7:09 Her late husband was among the founding members of the Romanian SDA church in Loma Linda
• 9:32 No joke, she actually was there and has walked that exact trail (among all the others) many times in Hulda Crooks Park.
• 2:53 She faithfully keeps the Sabbath each and every Friday sunset to Saturday sunset, splitting her attendance between the University Church (shown briefly to the right of the statues) and Campus Hill Church (not shown in the video but very close by).
• She's 90 and said she intends to outlive her children. And I think she will...
• She's my mother and the best in the whole world!

Him saying that borrito isn't big, baffles me. UK here.
Same and I’m American
Uk here too, that burrito would fill me all day!
I'm in the USA and it seemed pretty large to me. I know he was comparing it to Chipotle which I've only had a couple of times and I remember the portions was pretty big, but I don't recall them being that much huger than the one he got in this video.
that's odd, the UK is hardly a paragon of healthy lifestyles, as: "In 2022 to 2023, 64.0% of adults aged 18 years and over in England were estimated to be overweight or living with obesity.", one of the worst rates in all of Europe.

When you mentioned "stress" bro that is so real, we hear all the time, but we don't do much to de-stress ourselves
The best way to destress yourself is to practice being grateful. If you're thankful when life is hard no one can ever take your peace. It's difficult because often we can justify our pain, but even if you have suffered injustice, wallowing in it is poisonous.
That's one of the reasons why God created the Sabbath for us
Outside of God why does your suffering have purpose, just wondering. Never had anyone actually able to explain it.@@Frankiigii
@@user-ld3si9iy6sit quite possibly has no purpose. But that’s fine I think. Even if we’re just organisms born from organisms, completely devoid of a spiritual or metaphysical presence, I still think that’s fine. I like watching movies and playing video games. I work making coffee cuz I like coffee. I’ll never be rich and I might always be poor but like, who cares lol. I get to enjoy life right, and isn’t that enough of a purpose?
Sounds absurdly empty, but if you're okay with that, I'm in one sense glad you find such powerful meaning in the mundane but in the end - that will only hurt your ability to come to God. If you're fine with absolutely nothing after this, you've truly found a way to cope with the meaning of life idea so you now have no need to search for the real reason. Love you
This is such a classy, funny, entertaining video I’m vegan and I really appreciated this and your commentary was everything. I love how you made that old man laugh about the McDonald’s joke. It was so genuine, and I feel like he needed that.

Too bad I didn't run into you, I live a block from the university. I'm not SDA and didn't know anything about Loma Linda before I moved here. The people are so nice, my neighbor behind me is in his 70s, has cancer and is in treatment for it, but he goes out every Friday to deliver food for meals on wheels. He's also into playing music, does astral photography, stays busy & is always out doing something. He makes me feel like a complete sloth.
I do my cardio outside in the area, usually around the university, built a nice little home gym in my garage, not a bad spot.
I also have to tell my barber that you walked past his shop. 😂😂

I had dated someone who was a 7th Day Adventist, didn't eat meat, didn't mind if I did, but I didn't eat it as often in front of him or his family. They were Mexican too, converted from Catholicism. Best vegterian Mexican food I've ever experienced in my life! They opened a whole new world to me when it came to Vegan and Vegterian cuisine. I remember when he made a comment on my body saying I had no cellulite what so ever. THAT WAS A HUGE DEAL FOR ME! We are no longer together, sadly because our religious views were sort of clashing, but I still eat more vegan to vegetarian to this day. 😊
I’d imagine even Mexican vegans would still find a way to put some sort of Mexican flare in Vegan food lol

I live about an hour and a half away from Loma Linda. People from my area have gone to the hospital when they've been incredibly sick and most have gotten better. I had very dear friends who were 7th Day Adventist and the wife passed away last year at 96 years old with her healthy, memory and mental faculties intact. Thank you for this interesting video about a lovely place and lifestyle.
My Italian in-laws passed at 96 and weren’t vegan or vegetarian. The only pill they were on was their high blood pressure pill. Their motor and memory skills intact. They ate variety of home cooked meals, kept busy with family and friends, kept their weigh down, didn’t exercise, smoked like chimneys, lol, but stayed busy with house chores. They read a lot and did crossword puzzles every day. I think stress has a lot to do with wellbeing.
Wow, you were only about an hour and 15 mins away from my house.
@krissto22 So they needed a pill to live to 96

I myself am not a Seventh-day Adventist. I am just a Christian, but Sunday is the first day of the week and Saturday is the seventh day and that’s when the Lord took rest if you don’t know about it right up in your king James version Bible. You’re also not supposed to listen to anything but Christian music during those 24 hours and you are not supposed to watch television, in the Bible, it says to remember the sabbath day, and to keep it holy. If you want to know about Seventh-day Adventist, I can tell you all about it.

Big respect!
In 2016, I worked at a major US bank in Loma Linda across the street from the Loma Linda Hospital. I would literally see 90 year olds doing cartwheels in the bank lobby! It was incredible to see how strong these 90-something year olds were. They all had something in common, they were all Seventh Day Adventist and all were vegetarians. I loved working in Loma Linda because businesses had to be closed before sundown on Friday and closed on Saturday. It was great not to have to work on Saturdays because most banks were opened in other cities. Lunch breaks were a pain because I had to drive to San Bernardino to get fast food such as McDonald's and In-N-Out Burger.
And the one on hospitality lane is in a high traffic area too.
Lies
I highly doubt vegetarianism is the reason and probably more to do with the fact they are health conscious in general. A steak isn’t bad for you, a steak lathered in butter and salt is. Anyone who cuts out unhealthy foods will live longer. Meat is not one of those foods
@@Puffdaddy452 neither is butter or salt, the healthiness comes from moderation.

Many countries that have long living residents, such as Japan, Hong Kong, and a city like Loma Linda all have similarities like not eating as much red meat, being active, and being part of a community for socializing. That's literally the secret to living a long healthy life. Side note, Loma Linda being right next to one of the most dangerous cities is such a stark contrast lol.
japan and hong kong eats alot of red meat tho, it's mostly cuz their food isn't processed to all hell being 50% chemicals like most american foods lol
@@DaPeasant im not american lol, im korean, in korea
the biggest killer in America is 100% their ultra processed foods, its not even a debate, the only reason these vegans are living longer is they're inadvertently avoiding those franchise processed foods with those vegan options
some of the other blue zones eat daily meat, there's even one blue zone where they're practically drunk off red wine 24/7, the only thing all blue zones have in common is the rare combo of no ultra processed foods + first world medical care, since most places with first world medical care also have an abundance of ultra processed foods
as for the portions, it's fine as long as you burn it off, most people don't in america though, though not "directly" a health issue, it is a huge obesity contributor which then leads to other health issues
but in this topic, just keeping a healthy weight won't be enough to reach the longevity of the people in these blue zones, were talking about 100 years old, not 70, these obese people you're talking about don't even make it to 70
@@DaPeasantThe chemicals are the problem. There's a correlation of increasing heart disease after the production of vegetable/seed oils when before it was exclusively animal fats. Corn syrup and soy products are also in highly processed and those aren't exactly healthy. It's in so many products.

His comment about portion sizes and the burrito being a premie at Chipotle is a pretty spot-on. It's the crux of what is wrong with the SAD and our love huge portions of hyper-processed fast food
But then he eats vegan sausage which is undoubtedly hyper processed. I'd say chicken at chipotle with some rice beans and salsa is far more natural than any imitation meat product. I respect vegans who eat real food.
