    I have to hand it to you. Very impressive to hike King's Peak solo. I hiked it in September, camped at Dollar Lake Day 1. It was mid week and there was hardly anyone there. Around 3:00 am, I was woken up by light from a flash light shining in my tent. I got dressed and went outside and did not see or hear anything. Really odd. I decided to get dressed and start for the summit in the dark. Lots of reflective eyes looking at me from the tree lines. At the ridge line to the summit, I decided to stop not wanting to scrambled the rocks as I had sprained and cut my leg the year before on a loose rock that gave way in the Park City area. Needed 25 stitches to close the cut. Great video.

    Thanks for the video! It brought back good memories: last year I flew to SLC, hiked Borah in ID, then next day Kings in a day (without the big pack it was 11 hours). Hoped to have a day between them, but weather was coming, so I used the extra day to go to Dinosaur National Monument. You are right, there is a lot of boulder hopping on Kings that I was not ready for. It is a good hike, but I thought Borah was way better fun with the class Chicken out Ridge. Hope you have a chance of doing that.

    That was smart to make it a 2 day trip, get acclimated to the altitude a little before going for the summit, those ankle twister rock fields could be dangerous. can you rig up some 550 cord to the water filtration bag and hang it on a branch like a IV bag while it is draining through the filter ? I am not a coffee drinker, but yes i have seen people almost dysfunctional without it.

    • @AliceFordAdventures
      @AliceFordAdventures  Před 9 měsíci

I will be hiking in the Redwoods National Forest ( Northern California ) this summer for several weeks and need a good pair of hiking boots. I noticed that in many of your videos you are wearing a pair of boots with red laces. Who makes those boots? In this video its at time stamp: 6:52. Are they comfortable and durable? Do they come in a mens size 9-1/2". Anyway sorry for such odd questions. Wishing you all the best in your travels and adventures.
