      @@shehzadchowdhury8327 well we don't learn indian history but Mauritian history! And even Mauritian don't like being compared with indians! Our culture is more close to Africa than india we speak "Creole" we dance "sega" our gastronomy is different and even if we pray the same God our rituals are more simple there are a lots of rituals of which we don't share the same beliefs! We don't even that thing you called "kundli" and we don't follow any nonsensical tradition like I've seen in videos about the manglik and carva chaute or that virgin test in weddings. THE his is just disgusting! Only hindu festivals we celebrate is divali, holi, durgapuja, mahashivrathi and ganesh chaturthi and other for tamils and telugus.
      And about that "indian origin you are talking about- people that actually came to Mauritius from India ,in 1834( it has been more than centuries)
      they are all dead.
      And in 1968 they day we gain independence there was no "Indians" among us there was only hindus.

    Sadly there is not much to be proud of specially considering you have your independence for over 50 years now. It is a mostly poor third world country with terrible infrastructure & living conditions Its "island paradise" reputation is deliberately built up by the corrupt EU funded government by creating deluxe high security gated 5 star hotels by the mostly fine beaches , clear sea and year long fine (but humid) sunny climate. These rich mostly europea & chinese tourists (lots of honeymooners too) rarely venture out on their week's stay and report all is dandy as they depart by the smart new airport!
    If they were to stray outside they would quickly be very shocked by the low living standards, lack of pavements, half built houses, poor roads and general poverty. Consequently most are dissuaded and are whisked to & from airport by taxi!
    My resumé: its poor and being overrun by the 70% majority hindu community who are "taking it down the pan" quickly

    • @thegreatdoowoper24
      @thegreatdoowoper24 Před 7 lety +1

      I beg to differ. Hawai per capita GDP is around $50,000 pa. Mauritius is just $10000 ! Ask the average person where they would prefer to be.
      One of the main problems in Mauritius is the failure to apply and pay taxes on a massive scale. The reason why the towns , villages and roads are so poorly kept is there are NO local taxes levied. This breeds squalour and lzack of civic pride. It is evident to noite it is only the few beach tourist areas which are better maintained for obvious reasons, but even this these towns its pretty ropey behind the sea front.
      In my view man only about 5% of the educated Mauritiens are doing well.
      Much trading is done in cash without receipts. Visit Goodlands as proof.
      I even know 20 year olds who have never been to school. The "buzz word" there now is "home schooling" = opting out without any future! Apparently no effecvtive social services to stop this rot.

    • @thegreatdoowoper24
      @thegreatdoowoper24 Před 7 lety +2

      You created the Hawai comparison not me. If Mauritius suits you fine, but remember it is competing with very dynamic emerging countries and from what I observed it is not making much progress except a new Mall or three since only about 3 years ago amongst a wilderness of povety, a feeble "autoroute with lots of roundabouts, a small successful financial center and of course Caudan in pot hole Port Louis which closes down at night !
      It is evident that Government income is not spreading far outside parts of Port Louis, Grand Baie and other small resorts (for tourists of course)
      Why are there so many thousands of half finnished self-builds, so many people living in corrugated iron dwellings, many towns & villages without proper pavements and shops that came out of the ark ? No my friend your vision is too limited and maybe you are just too proud to see the reality of your country ?
      You are already trying to temp rich investors with the right of residence if one invests over $500,000 or so in a designated gated community (think of South Africa pre 87) but finally these folk only employ maids or gardners and it has crezated a "them & us or haves and haves not" communities.

    • @thegreatdoowoper24
      @thegreatdoowoper24 Před 7 lety

      although certainly not an expertt on Mauritius from my information its even worse than that! There is also Franco, franco-mautritian domination on many important sectors of economy and also high mauritian boirn asian influence in various fields. This has the effect of mostly keeping the creols out and can even be termed as third class sadly.
      The asians are now in the majority. I dont know if its good or bad but I saw how they lived in the villages, towns all over the island and it was mostly rough (except for the richer business, professional class)
      Outside the coastal areawhere much investment has been made to attract a richer clientiele it is, qas I have already commented, quite third world. The so called "economic miracle" is an illusion to the majority there. Just look at the GDP compared to , say, Israel and it puts it into perspective. Its far too low considering they have no army, take in no refugees. and have a good climate
      Serious armed crime, bulgaries is far too high too.
      Just a final point in the Malls etc apart from Made in Mautitius T shirts it is almost impossible to find locally produced clothes ! Why ? Mauritius was known for good cloth and well made shirts etc.
      Its is; finally, a rich & poor society with invisable walls which are difficult to clime due to the word DISCRIMINATION ! Many will protest at my view but show me otherwise folks.
