I see Mike Reno every other day in Vancouver, he's always picking up either Starbucks or walking somewhere on Granville street, he drives an old white convertible Cadillac with leopard print seat covers and he's very approachable to chat,super nice dude.oh he's the singer of loverboy I should add lol
Unreal... stayed true to the original, yet managed to put a Beaches spin on it as well! And look at Jojo absolutely NAILING that high note! Love it!!!
i just found the beaches 30 minutes ago, my 1st impression is the singer is exceptional . i'm eager to listen to more of their songs.

I just felt that they worked so hard on this, it seemed to take them out of their comfort zone, and they nailed it
i love it! i love how the Beaches covered this song, they stayed faithful by keeping it original but they still added their own flavour. i am a fan of the Beaches

This is the best cover I ever heard of "turn me loose" the singer have a really awesome voice and the whole band does an outstanding performence, I which I could see them live

She totally went for it at 2:16 - so awesome!
I waited in anticipation of the 2:16 ... I was not disappointed! This is killer.
The camera cuts first to Kylie (guitar) and then Eliza (drums) immediately after Jordan hit that note. Kylie goes "duckface" and Eliza has a giant, slowly growing grin on her face... and in any of the live cuts of The Beaches I've seen, Eliza is usually stone-faced serious when she plays. Yeah, Jordan nailed that note good.
She went for it, yeah. It was just a little flat, but hey, that's rock 'n' roll.
+1 though Reno 'Cries' when he sings, she is not doing this. The world badly needs a Loverboy
tribute band, so many hits, they could corner the market. In terms of this song overall, the
'pizza' is under-cooked vs the original, I am not seeing negative comments, which 100% is the CBC's right to edit out, but it would be good to note missed guitar notes +how about giving the group a few more takes vs putting out
this version with warts and all ?

As a Canadian who was listening to Loverboy in the 80s, and the Beaches in 2010+, I totally appreciate this. Nuff respect to the Beaches for knowing their heritage. Until recently, I was lived in the (Toronto) Beaches, like the band--you GO, GIRLS!!!

Holy heck... even better than I had hoped. Absolutely nailed it, ladies. THIS is how to do a cover... don’t try to re-interpret, just be you and be true to the song.
I have to disagree (not that they didn't do great on this cover, they did). A cover should be whatever the artist feels or is inspired. Some of my favorite covers are very different than the originals and become something altogether different and in some cases even better. Think The Animals - House of the Rising Sun, Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower, RHCP - Havana Affair.
I think you're right in that I should have said that my own opinion of how to do a cover is to not re-interpret it. There absolutely have been some good covers that don't stick too close to the original.

@@cbcmusic +1 Would be cherry to get the band on with them, show the quite tricky guitar parts. I want the lads in the audience or reacting from a tour bus. Kiss are replacing people, Aerosmith introduce a singer as helping them with the tricky notes now. Step it up CBC :-)
