Wow! I’m so glad I found this video. I also watched the vinyl fence video. I just put up a white vinyl on my corner lot. Oh, it’s nice. Oh and it’s like yours from Lowe’s. Had problems with gates but they finally got it right. So, it took me 2 weeks of research and checking for these lights. Had to order some from Amazon and some from Lowe’s. I need 4 more which is on order with Lowe’s but it’s taking so long for them to be shipped. Oh, how long will your stay lite after just a so so sunny day? Had I always “like” and I suscribed and watch all commercials. The best to you.
Thank you so much! That really means a lot to us. We had our first child a couple months ago so it really goes a long way when people watch and enjoy our videos. We've had our fence now for 2 years and of all the improvements we've done that was the one that made the biggest impact. On a so-so kinda day the lights typically stay on until about 1 or 2 am, even in winter when it's pretty cloudy all day. Our yard faces the North for reference. Haven't had to change a battery at all yet. And we attached them with the command velcro and haven't had any fall down. Costco has some new ones this year that are similar but have a frosted type of glass. They don't look nearly as good visually and because of the frosted glass they don't throw off as much light either.
The lights are built well. I’ve had them for a few years tried cleaning the solar panel and replacing the batteries. Some are still not working . It would be nice if the had replacement solar panels.
These are great if you want something stylish. Here's another idea if you want something that lights up the entire yard. We bought the Sunforce lights that Costco/Sam's Club sells for $35. I have these on each corner of my house. Motion activated or can be set to come on at night. These light up my entire yard. Don't know how long they stay on continuously because I have it set for motion activated but for $35 it's been a great purchase. Easy to install.
I’ve got my lights now and can’t wait to hang them. But how well do the “command strips “ work? I’m in NC and it gets very hot and humid here. And although most winters are not very cold but we can get freezing weather every once in a while.
We're in the Chicagoland area. We have hot humid summers, snow, sleet and rain the rest of the year. Ours has held up through all that. Majority of them were put up a year ago and none have ever fallen. One of them(the test light) has been hanging for two years with no problem. I used 3 of the large velcro command strips on each light. Plus, I've never had to change a battery.
We live in the Chicago suburbs. We mentioned Miami Dade in the video because that's the highest wind rating for fences(Miami Dade rated). Since the Miami area has to worry about hurricanes they require fences to withstand winds up to 110 mph. Chicago is known as the "Windy City" so when we were looking for a fence we wanted one that could handle the wind. After doing research we learned spending the extra $1,800 to make it Miami Dade rated wasn't necessary because of the homes and trees around our house.
We live in a woodsy area so at night we have a circus going on with night critters like raccoons and skunks. We like to see what they're up to. Entertaining. 🤣. One we're really high on right now is the Sunforce string lights sold at Costco for $40. Solar powered and pretty powerful. Comes with a remote. Speaking of Sunforce we also have their triple head solar motion activated light. Retails for $35. Their mounted on each corner of the house and it can be motion activated or can be turned on manually. These light up our entire yard. Hope this helps! 🙏

I have these lights. Love them for years but I replaced the rechargeable batteries but I’m not getting bright lighting. How to maintain them to continue to get bright lighting again. Frustrated

Im looking forward to seeing the one year review.. I have the classy caps solar lights and most have them are shot. In the past I have replaced the batteries with no luck. The solar panel on top seems hazed and I dont think its doing the trick anymore. Not to mention batteries always leaking. they should have went with a "battery pack" type to help prevent the oxidization. Thanks for your idea, I just might try it out.
We'll definitely be doing a one year review on the fence lights. They're all still working and its nice to look into our yard at night and be able to see everything.
James White oh no, I’ve got a bunch of “classy lights” also. I have both. I see the classy lights are suppose to be a little brighter. Just yesterday I placed one of each on 2 posts to see the difference. But have it, no sun for a few days.
@@123bojac The "Classy Caps/Classy Caps Majestic 5" x 5" PVC Solar Post Cap" lights have 4 LED lights and requires 2 AA batteries. I have had them since 2014. I recently opened one up and the copper wire going from the circuit board to 1 of the 4 LEDs was rusted out. The wire wasn't even protected by the wire jacket.(this is just one I haven't gone through them all). For spending 33 bucks each (18 lights for my yard) I expected more. I cant even retrofit them for low voltage due to their being 4 LEDs on them. So I just ordered the "iglow" ones from Amazon (I might have to paint them beige to match if I dont like the white). I only got the 4 pack so I can see how they are constructed. At least it is 55 dollars for 4 lights versus the 33 dollars each I spent for the Classy Cap Majestic. And iGlow ones have only ONE AA battery and I might be able to retrofit to low voltage if I have to.

Just curious, what about when it rains, especially heavy rain, does water get inside these solar devices that can diminish the lifespan of the light? If water does get inside, I dont see how it will dry by itself, and it would be a time consuming effort to remove all of them them from the fence, take apart to wipe away all the moisture, and reinstall back onto the fence.

My eyes are very sensitive to light so when I'm outside or we're filming inside with extra studio lighting I have to use the sunglasses to prevent watering and squinting. Thanks for watching!
Mine are holding up okay. Had to change batteries but the biggest problem I'm having is the 3M tape stops working then the lights fall down and shatter the glass. Costco has this year a different brand. Will be buying one to see how they are. Sam's Club has these solar disc lights that I've put around my shed and those have performed above my expectations. Very bright and last for most of the night. There's 6 in the box for $20.
I bought two packs, 8 lights, and pithing a month only 2 of them work. I've cleaned the solar panel, did not help, I changed the batteries, and it did not help. I love the look of the lights and how they fit on my fence, but they a worthless since they don't work. I would not recommend purchasing these lights. Costco would not let me return them when they began to not work.

They're doing great ! They come on every night...even in winter. They'll stay on for most of the night. By 2am they'll start getting dimmer. I wake up every morning around 5am and I'll see them still on. Costco has them every summer for $20, limit 5 per purchase. We bought 5 then went back and bought 5 more till we had the amount we needed. If you buy more than 5 then it's $25. Amazon sells them for $40. Home Depot and Walmart have similar lights but very pricey and not good reviews. Don't forget to subscribe ❤️🐶🇺🇸

Good question. We live in the suburbs of Chicago and for the most part bugs aren't an issue. The only bug problem we have is with stinkbugs....they'll crawl between the 3M velcro and get stuck causing the lights to fall off. I replace the 3M velcro and attach it back to the fence. A couple lights fall off every year. I think I have 22-28 lights total(don't remember off the top of my head) so no big deal. Everywhere I been looking is out of stock, I haven’t gone to Costco to check yet, but online it’s saying out of stock, is there any similar style lighting around the same price that you’d recommend?
Check out our description. We have links to a few places that sell this. The Costco by us isn't selling these this year but have a similar product. I haven't tried out the new one. The main difference is the new one has frosted glass instead of clear glass. We've had our lights for over a year now and it's still going strong. Gives the backyard the right amount of light. This video is good. But from my experience, these lights are total waste if money. I bought them at Costco as well. Once they switch on, they last for 1.5 hrs or so. useless in my opinion since they are out when I need to step out in my backyard! I plan to return them at Costco
They're good lights. Problem is the company who makes them is a company from Canada that's owned by a company in China. You know how that goes. Wait till late Spring/Early Summer. Most retailers will carry them again or an updated version. Costco only sells it during the summer. Otherwise buy something similar and do what I did. Hope this helps Frank. Their crap . I bought 8 of them, 2 work after less than a year, they don't charge the batteries anymore, I took the batteries out and charged them on a separate charger, they worked one night the next night only the same 2 worked. DO NOT BUY Just my recommendation

How are they nearly one year on? Does anywhere still sell these?
They're doing great ! They come on every night...even in winter. They'll stay on for most of the night. By 2am they'll start getting dimmer. I wake up every morning around 5am and I'll see them still on.
Costco has them every summer for $20, limit 5 per purchase. We bought 5 then went back and bought 5 more till we had the amount we needed. If you buy more than 5 then it's $25. Amazon sells them for $40. Home Depot and Walmart have similar lights but very pricey and not good reviews.

How are they now after some time?

How long do they stay Illuminated?

How bad do they attract bugs?
Good question. We live in the suburbs of Chicago and for the most part bugs aren't an issue. The only bug problem we have is with stinkbugs....they'll crawl between the 3M velcro and get stuck causing the lights to fall off. I replace the 3M velcro and attach it back to the fence. A couple lights fall off every year. I think I have 22-28 lights total(don't remember off the top of my head) so no big deal. Everywhere I been looking is out of stock, I haven’t gone to Costco to check yet, but online it’s saying out of stock, is there any similar style lighting around the same price that you’d recommend?
Check out our description. We have links to a few places that sell this. The Costco by us isn't selling these this year but have a similar product. I haven't tried out the new one. The main difference is the new one has frosted glass instead of clear glass. We've had our lights for over a year now and it's still going strong. Gives the backyard the right amount of light. Recently we lost power and it was nice having our house lit up outside from the solar lights. Every bit of security helps. Hope this helps.

We live in the suburbs of Chicago. Don't have inserts on our fence other than the gate. The gate requires the stiffeners.
This video is good. But from my experience, these lights are total waste if money. I bought them at Costco as well. Once they switch on, they last for 1.5 hrs or so. useless in my opinion since they are out when I need to step out in my backyard!

These lights must be real garbage , every link you give to purchase them , their either discontinued or not available .
They're good lights. Problem is the company who makes them is a company from Canada that's owned by a company in China. You know how that goes.
Wait till late Spring/Early Summer. Most retailers will carry them again or an updated version. Costco only sells it during the summer.

Good advice. We're still getting into the swing of things so we'll work on that for next time. We've had the lights for over a year now and they're still going strong even in the dead of winter. Make sure to subscribe!
Their crap . I bought 8 of them, 2 work after less than a year, they don't charge the batteries anymore, I took the batteries out and charged them on a separate charger, they worked one night the next night only the same 2 worked. DO NOT BUY Just my recommendation
