Pity it broke, I didn't think it was that hard of a hit. Thanks for giving it a good hit out and bash. I want to like this truck because my MT10 makes me smile a lot and it's very durable but the MT8 ... jury is still out on this one 😃😃

Great video man. I love RC Review vids where the host doesn't have a bias and can be totally honest. This is literally a remake of the ''OG" Redcat Kaiju. I held off the Kraton 6s EXB waiting for this. I have the BLS and LOVE IT. During the wait, the Sledge dropped. As opposed to buying a "Kaiju 2.0" I think I will get the Traxxas Sledge. My Xmaxx needs company anyway! Shame, because my MT10 is a beast! I was hoping this would be its bigger, better performing brother. Oh well, waiting on the next Associated. Great Vid, thanks Hotspot!

Great vid check your diffs I put 100,000 in the middle 50;000 on the ends and ran it on 6s the truck turned into a absolute monster what a blast

Nice. I'll be keeping my Kaijus. I have two of them. I just don't trust metal chassis RC vehicles for 26ft plus jumps that I do, unless they have a chassis from M2C which is 7075 aluminum. Thanks for the video.

I think it’s got the same issues as the Kaiju. That was a lot of jumping and a tricky landing on the corner of the truck, but it wasn’t to high or wild. I don’t think it should have bent there. I was hoping this truck was bigger and something new before it was out. I still like it a lot and may get one as I don’t have a Kaiju or anything like that size. Could be a fun truck to bring anywhere
I do like it. If that's all that's wrong with it, I can fix that. I don't like that the arm split where it did. Hoping that's a fluke

Love my rival mt10, I have the og helion avenge that helion produced and associated copied..solid platform! This is not a scaled up version of th mt10..I'd be pissed if I bought a rebranded redcat..:(
I dig the birds chirping in the background at the beginning of the video. I know you haven't had the MT8 for long, but I'm contemplating between the Kaiju and MT8 once I sell off one of my other RC's. Would you recommend the Kaiju or waiting to see what the verdict is for the MT8?
I would wait. I think the mt8 has advantages the Kaiju doesn't and I love my Kaiju. But I like the way everything is place in the MT8. Easier to fix or change things like the pinion gear and such. The center braces, the aluminum chassis, it has a lot going for it.y new arm will be here tomorrow and then I'll take it for another rip and probably make my choice then
How high are you planning to jump the MT8? My Kaiju plastic chassis is very strong for 26ft jumps. Not sure about that metal chassis on the MT8 for extreme jumps TBH
@@joseCalderon1976 that's exactly what I was thinking! For more hardcore bashing (thinking like sending it at the skatepark), I feel like the kaiju would be the better choice?
To answer your question, I would want my kaiju chassis to stand up to landing on fallen tree trunks in the woods when landing from 15-20 ft up and wonky landing in the skate park from 10-15 ft like my Senton chassis!
From that height I dont think you would have an issue either way honestly. If you going higher then that or really even at that level, you are gonna have other things fail on these rcs before you even have to worry about the chassis. Thats been my personal experience with the Kaiju, the Kaiju Ext, and the MT8
I was very keen to get the MT8 after the long wait & pretty good price, having now seen the truck tested a few times now & various reviewers comments. This truck is not for me & wont bother getting the MT8 now. The MT8 also has the same problem with tie rods snapping as the latest version of the Kaiju.
V1 Kaiju, Skeeter, 6s Outcast and you're good.

I think it's a better kaiju but what I want from that platform it the arms I think there better then the kaiju arms it doesn't have two holes like the kaiju on the outside part of the arm where the tires go
The arms are weak. I already broke my front arm and steering rack. But the truck is a lot of fun and definitely worth the money.
Nice video I think the truck looks great but from all the videos I’ve seen it seems like the rear turnbuckle is definitely a weak point .

If I was going by just how they are built, I like the mt8. Easier to work on, to change pinion gears, do diff work, I like the metal chassis and the stock tires more. But as far as how they run, I'm not sure yet, but the MT8 has my vote for now
Thunder tiger owns associated , why go with redcat parts , my st 1 is 20 plus years old and converted to brushless before the mt 4 came out , I have broke one arm , bent one axle and bent the stock shock towers in 8 years and have run 200 plus 4s packs
Sorry, not understanding what you are saying. Do they make arms for this MT8? I went with the Kaiju arms because they are exactly the same except they are more flexible and durable and I haven't had issues with them.
I'm having a issue where the body partially folds on itself and you have to pop it back into place. Problem is it weakens the body more each time. Have you had that happen?
In the back I had it happen. I do have gorilla tape on the body to help reinforce it a little
That's the reason I didn't buy this was cause this is essentially a kaiju. Sure it has a metal chassis but that's not really necessary.
