I need to play Viticulture again! The French Quarter looks really nice but I'm a sucker for R&W anyway x)
I'm bad about being a completionist too.
I'm backing Glassworks too. Several others but not the same ones you are.
We have looked at Dog Park a few times but haven't bought it due to the bad reviews. But I have heard it's a nice lite game.
My favorite area control game is Amazons, a two-player abstract invented by Walter Zamkauskas in 1988. Each player has four chess queens, which move and try to trap each other with flaming arrows.
I guess Twilight Struggle counts as Area control? If yes, then that's it XD Some of the dungeon crawlers I have are actually those paper standees and not actual plastic minis for most of the monsters. With some plastic minis at least I love Gloomhaven and Lord of the Rings Journeys in Middle Earth. I had a great time with Memoir and that one is big on the minis. I have started painting some minis but I have so many hobbies I end up doing it only every few months.

I was a big fan of Super Dungeon Explore, but the company who makes that game has not been so kind to their patrons. So I guess my new favorite game with minis is Trogdor!!! My favorite areacontrol game is El Grande. Very elegant area control game. Of course Smallworld is nice too!
Will be playing El Grande on Friday for the first time!!
