      I moved my lil friends around this morning and realized that there are lil babies all around the edge of one of the leaves that I propagated do you know what this one is called? The leaf is green with a scalloped reddish brown edge.

    The Basque country is a challenge for growing succulents.
    There are constant rains and not too much sun.
    My method? TRANSPARENT PLASTIC.
    It's not expensive and It's reusable.
    Even inside the plastic I havent watered my plants in 3 months, with the ambient humidity is enough for them

    Thanks for the tips! What about when they get mold and mildew from all the rain? Do you have any tips for that?

    • @ChopstickandSucculents
      @ChopstickandSucculents  Před 2 lety +4

      Usually, the black sooty molds results from plants getting infected by sap-sucking pests like mealybugs and aphids. I would isolate the plants and spray with Neem oil. Anytime the cause of the problem is too much water, remove the plants as soon as possible from the source. So, if the soil is soaking wet, remove the plants and keep them dry. You'll be able to save them that way.

    Hi, I have all my succulents outside. Yesterday it was raining the whole day. Today I went out to check on them and my succulents are wilting which is bizarre to me cause they're showing signs of dehydration. The leaves aren't discolored nor do they feel mushy or heavy. What's going on with my plants?

    So strange, several days of heavy rain make my succulents prosper.?????????????

    • @ChopstickandSucculents
      @ChopstickandSucculents  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes. Those dehydrated succulent can benefit from the rain. Those huge, bush like Jade plants and Portulacaria will look.even healthier. But those small ones like the Echeverias and sensitive to water types like the Mesemb would probably suffer more.
