  • A sermon delivered by C.H. Spurgeon, Lord's day morning, April 11th 1869
If you are looking for a sermon which covers a lot of ground, this is it. Here Spurgeon touches upon our sadnesses and joys; our sins and victories. He deals with heaven and hell; predestination and reprobation. He looks also at the apparent prosperity of the wicked.
For many preachers these subjects would be too deep and mysterious for one sermon. Spurgeon, of course, admits they are beyond all human understanding. Yet note how the preacher is enabled by God to take on such vast and widely opposite themes with serenity and authority.
