That little segement near the end that starts with "this aint a life its just survival!" Has stuck with me for so long and I catch myself singing the entire song all the time!
I absolutely loved the fact the whole "we need to fight back" portrayes real life in the sence of "f you no happy endings" and just shoots the dude and the whole song starts back up. Its GREAT
This is the only song that has ever truly gave me a jumpscare, I was lying in bed listening to this song for the first time and the gunshot literally made me jump 😅
BtBBRBBBQ holds a very special place in my heart as I based one of my best dnd encounters ever off of it. Corrupt rich nobles go to those restaurant in the middle of nowhere to eat barbeque(possibly made from the meat of other people) while watching poor people fight to the dead over scraps that they throw down. All being ran by Banky Blaine who was a dragon in disguise. It was an awesome encounter especially with players getting creative and flipping over tables to avoid his breath weapon and stuff.
It took me 5 or 10 listens just to wrap my head around this one. The lyrics alone are powerful - a combination fight club/cannibal BBQ fits right in with the classic Bear Ghost horror motifs, but layered beneath that is a biting commentary on the American class divide. Musically, there's so much going on - I hear influences from punk, jazz, doo-wop, and half a dozen other genres, but it's still impressively cohesive. The chaos in the composition only reinforces the story the lyrics are telling. If you ignore the half-time feel section and the big accel at the end, it sounds to me like the tempo is 270 BPM? The fact that you originally wrote it slower, then made the conscious choice to speed it up to there, is a display of musical mastery and sheer hubris in equal parts. Anyway, 10/10, will listen again many times over.
I do love how some of these videos are talking about about how it was trying to find an in point to write a song about depression or addiction while keeping it to the theming of more monsters based songs, and then there are others that are just, you know? I wanna write a Rockabilly song, also fuck capitalism
You know listening to these videos are awesome, throughout all of your songs I’ve always wondered how did the idea for such good music come to be. Genuinely awesome music I’ve been getting my friends to listen to. Hope you guys make it really big sometime!

BTBBRBBQ popped up on my feed not long after you put it on CZcams, and I was HOOKED on this band ever since. Sometimes the Algorithm does its job.

No matter how comically evil you make capitalism sound in a song, still somehow not as bad as the real thing
