  • All there is to know about LED Light Therapy. Not all LED treatments or devices are the same. So I'm giving you a run down of what to expect and what to look for if you're interested in investing in a home device. It's taken a while of trying the different devices available and learning more about what really works. I also explain why I don't opt for Blue Light in my devices, and which wavelengths of Red light I look for. I also share a couple of devices that I personally trust and will give you the closest alternative to a professional salon treatment! I also managed to score a 20% discount code of my favourite for you!

    I love my Boost Light Salon face mask. I have been struggling with acne my whole life. When the pandemic hit, I went through a MAJOR breakout out and then maskacne made it worse. I stopped using foundation and focused on healing my skin. I purchased in July as I wanted to now focus accelerating my skin renewal and diminish dark spots. I have used it consistently (night and day 3x a week) and saw improvements in a month = improved skin texture and reduced oiliness. Now in Nov, my dark spots have been reduced significantly and my acne has healed. I now only use the mask one a day 3x a week.

    Ive seen the benefits of red light therapy, my boyfriend bought some panels off Amazon that actually have the same wavelength quality that you described, and red and near infrared light as well, they are fairly inexpensive ($60-80) and he uses them on his psoriasis. I've used them but wanted something that I could just comfortably lay with, an actual mask. So excited you posted this because I considered buying the Dennis Gross one but realized they actually don't disclose any specifications, and also include blue light which I wasn't aware it's not a good thing necessarily. Is there a difference between the blue light in LED therapy and blue light from phones and other screens that some sunscreens claim to protect you from? If there’s enough information/research on it, I’m sure the acne sufferers especially would love a video addressing this!!

    • @thelightsalon392
      @thelightsalon392 Před 4 lety +5

      The blue light wavelengths on a phone are different to an acne treating LED device. 415nm blue light is the most affective wavelength that will target acne forming bacteria. Devices that deliver alternative blue wavelengths such as 460nm are brilliant blue in colour but not as affective.

      T Borisenko hi love! I support the Light Salon because they originally developed this mask with omnilux. It was a labour of love but unfortunately theyre not a huge brand with the funds required to protect their product and demand exclusivity. This came out at least 8 months before the Current Body or omnilux came out with their branded mask. I personally want to support the small business whose expertise revolves solely around LED - but my viewers are smart and wise shoppers who will find deals may even want to try something different. This is just what I prefer to use. 💕

      Gothamista thanks, Renee! It’s hard to see the full story and both sides of the story online. Currentbody claims to have access to the patent so I assumed that they either own the patent or the Light Salon is getting paid the royalties on the sales. At least that’s how it works in the US on patented products. The patent owner can choose to let others to use their tech for an appropriate cost. If that’s not the case, I’m sorry to hear that. As someone starting up a company, I would be very upset if someone ran with the profits! Not to mention, I’d be chasing them with a team of lawyers and slamming their reputation online :)

    Do you have any recommendations for protective eyewear goggles that are effective at blocking out ~400nm to ~700nm light (which include all the colors I personally use particular LED mask). Ideally their shape/size would resemble tanning bed goggles so I can target skin around my eye area which you can’t really get to with the (huge) IPL treatment type goggles. Ones I’ve found (super sunnies) unfortunately only protect eyes from UVB and UVA waves, not visible light waves so they’re incompatible with light therapy. Love the video and love the channel!!!!

      If you have a device that you have purchased to use on your skin but can also apply to your head, it is definitely worthwhile doing. Combine treatment with drinking bone broth daily or every other day (treating your body from the inside and outside) and your hair follicles will strengthen and your hair will thicken (because your hair will fall out less).
