    I’ve been drumming since I was 4 but my family doesn’t have the money to buy a new kit so I’m still playing a 10 year old gear for music kit. Still saving for a better kit though. Hopefully I’ll get one one day.

    • @kyleblair
      @kyleblair  Před 4 lety +5

      The great thing about drum kits is you don’t need the best of the best to sound good. Some new heads and some good tuning most things will sound good. Also when you do buy a new kit your money goes a lot further than it used to. You can get a good 4 piece kit for around 500-600 dollars which is insane! I had been saving almost every check I got from work to get this one. Good luck to you. You’ll get there soon.

    He knows his PDP. The one way they keep cost down is putting cheap heads on. Changing the heads is a dramatic difference on those kits.

    Nice video, and beautiful drum set! I'm a 55 year old guy, been playing drums since about age 11. I debated long and hard a few years ago about which 7 pc kit i was gonna buy. It came down to the PDP Concept Maple and the Tama Superstar Classic.....I went with the Tama, and very happy with it, but I probably would have been equally happy with the PDP. Thanks for the cool unboxing video. You seemed like a kid on Christmas morning!

    • @kyleblair
      @kyleblair  Před 3 lety

      Hey Keith. I also considered the tama when trying to find a good kit. Pretty much the thing that made me choose this one since they were basically the same shells was the finish and the snare drum. both are great kits for the value. And yea, I absolutly felt like a kid on christmas!

    • @keithcamardelle739
      @keithcamardelle739 Před 3 lety +1

      Yep. I think they are both a great bang for the buck. And when i was looking at the PDPs, the Silver to Black Fade was my ONLY choice! Gorgeous drums! Can you post a follow up with them all tuned up and tweaked?? That would be cool! Rock on, brother!

    I bought this set for my daughter and they didn't put the foam between the bass drum and the tom that fit inside of it so i had to return it and it was a pain in the ass to return it. What are the chances that PDP sends me another set of drums that were not packed correctly and I end up with another set of damaged drums? These are a gift for my daugher.

    • @kyleblair
      @kyleblair  Před 3 lety

      Chris I'm sorry to hear that. In my expoerience with manufactururs like this, those chances arent very high. Pdp and DW are normally very intentional, and have good quality, but mistakes sadly happen. If you ordered it through sweetwater like I did I would talk to your sales engineer and see what they can make happen. Drum manufactururs make mistakes but sweetwater pretty much always makes them right in the end.

    Hi, I bought this beautiful set last week, ebony stain finish ($1400 here in Ecuador :O ). I had to sell my Mapex Horizon kit, my guitar amp and a guitar hardcase to reach the money lol. Of course also saving money last months how much I can. I am very happy to own finally a PDP 7 pieces kit. In my city I only can buy Remo Pinstripe drum heads and I have a few cymbals to make noise in my neighbourhood. Any advice to keep my drum set in epic conditions I am grateful to you. Sorry my english and greetings from Ecuador! :)

      Hey. Congratulations on your new kit! As for taking care of it, just be sure you wipe the dust off every once in a while, loosen bolts before you adjust them, lubricate the tension nuts every other time you change heads. Basic stuff. Have fun man!
