let me correct a few things: the twin Turbo 1GZ-FE V12 Supra made around 900 hp, not 1000. the second is, Smokey went to the UK in a different Supra which also makes 900 hp but is powered by a Nissan RB26.
I believe Smokey's V12 supra did make it's claimed 1000 horsepower but that was just to the crank, not to the wheels. Technically, your both infact correct depending on the context

The supra in the uk run has a rb26 engine in it which he wanted due to the quick acceleration of the gears and the 8500 rpm redline. The v12 supra was built as a concept after Smokey heard that Toyota was discontinuing the supra for the nearby future and basically was his concept for the mk5
The Toyota century v12 is kinda like if you glued two 1jzs together. Check out regular car reviews on the Toyota century and you will have a better idea
