Belgium vs Spain would be a pretty interesting match. An aging golden generation vs promissing new talents that don't have the same experience.
Portugal I can't see going far in that competition. They are stacked with talents but they have a terrible coach and their team isn't really cohesive.
As a brazilian, i'm not gonna lie, we're kind of scared of Argentina, but personally I think it was good to lose the Copa America. It was a good wake up call before the most important tournament. We both want and loathe the idea of facing them in a semifinal. I don't know if thats gonna happen, WC always find a way to surprise everyone, but I would say that the winner of that match (should I say war?) would be the WC champion.

@William HBK Argentina finally has a well rounded team in all fronts. Brazil usually has the edge but this time Argentina has it and has taken full advantage of their chemistry thus far. Brazil hasn't been able to make a single goal in the last 3 games against Argentina and I don't think k that's ever happened before..
Argentina has won their last 5 games with at least 3 goals (5-0 just today against UAE) and with no goals scored against them. Brazil is always a threat but this Argentina has the form to keep them at bay.
@@TWAAAAACKS i think both teams are pretty equal in both form and chemistry. Copa America was a defining moment for us both. Argentina regained confidence after that title and it shows. Argentina with their famous mentalidad gañadora is always dangerous for their rivals. But I think it was also important for Brazil to be humbled a little bit. Tite is a good coach and he actually learned with his mistakes in that final match, and I think our team improved a lot with even more talents ever since our draw in Estádio Bicentenário. I think rn both Argentina and Brazil got a kind of aura of magic and I really want the football god's to allow both to play against each other. I know I'm probably going to have a heart attack or smt but it would be historical.

Netherlands and Argentina could potentially go to penalties just like in 2014. Both Lionel Scaloni and Louis Van Haal have done a great job with their teams.

I don't see Croatia going that far this time, but I'm hopeful as always for Hrvatska! I just don't look at the Nations League results seriously, but we did have the Euros last year and I think Croatia still can't touch Spain. They scored 3 against them (one own goal), but they still allowed 5. They have better chances against Germany but I still don't see a clear winner in that matchup.
Like every World Cup, there will be some upsets and I think we might have either Argentina or Brazil going home earlier than expected. Yes they're currently in great form but that's largely against South American competition and we don't really know how well they stack up against European teams. I played with the same bracket and I think the last 8 will be Netherlands - Argentina, Germany - Brazil, England - France, and Spain - Serbia. This is where we might see an upset, with Netherlands possibly taking out Argentina, and Serbia possibly taking out Spain. I don't think Germany can take out Brazil this time around, and England in the quarters will have made it further than anyone would reasonably expect them to. The final 4 might then be Netherlands - Brazil, and Serbia - France. The clear favorites in this competition for anyone are Argentina, Brazil, France, and Spain. My dark horses are Serbia, Denmark, and Netherlands.
I love how people always mention Pedri's own goal, but no one mentions that Spain scored 2 goals when Croatia had 10 men on the field and the when Croatian players were on a water break. Also how Croatia (who will have better team than last euro) cant touch Spain when Spain menage to beat Croatia in 90 minutes only once in last 4 games?

I think that Mexico has a better chance of qualifiying instead of Poland.
By looking at the squad depth seems fair and balance for both of them.
But the coach Gerardo Martino is much more experienced.
I don't want to list down everything because it's very long.
But Martino CV is very impressive as he had guided many teams to the final.
He led Paraguay to the 2010 world cup quarter finals and it was the national team best ever performance. Then the following year, he guided the team to their first ever 2011 Copa America final.
Then Barcelona finished runners up in both league and Copa Del Rey.
Then Argentina his own nation to TWO Copa America final.
Now Mexico he guided to 1 CONCACAF cup title and 2 runners up and also second in the world cup qualification behind Canada with the same points actually.

Really tho, you can’t predict the World Cup. You have to account for almost every team having some role player or some very important player eventually being injured. Look at France they already lost a player in training. I do know for a fact that there will be some under dog that makes it to the quarter final like the last 2 world cups, who knows which team tho? It could be Canada or Serbia. But I definitely agree that either Argentina or Brazil have the best chances. The European powerhouses like Germany, France and The Netherlands don’t have very good attacking options, they have great wingers and everything behind the attack, but they don’t have reliable strikers, and if you realized anything from the last two world cups, it’s that teams that can score goals often win the World Cup.
Germany had a bunch of players that could score, same with France. They both ended up playing against teams that scored very few goals and often had to rely on one player to score a majority of their goals.
Mbappe, Benzema and Kane are elite goalscorers.

I think Argentina edges out Brazil for the following reasons: Argentina’s defense is better than Brazils, and I’m confident they’re able to handle Brazil’s attack, especially if they play a low block. On the other hand, I think players like Messi, Di Maria, Lautaro, De Paul have enough individual quality to penetrate Brazils defense. I think it would be another tight match with another 1-0 victory for Argentina.
