Good to know. I only have Mirror Link on mine and I'm considering doing this mod aswell. It appears you can add AV in aswell, if you don't have rear view camera, this enables you for that mod easy

Hello and big thanks for your videos! I installed the unit yesterday and it works fine. Maybe you can help me with a few question:
- When I put on the ignition of my car, every time Android Auto starts a few seconds later on my screen. Can I turn this off, that Android Auto doesnt start automatically? The settings on my phone dont change this. It is anoying when in the background Android Auto is still active with a big amount of energy out of my phone battery when I online want to hear radio on the stock system.
- The dark mode of Google Maps dont work when the setting is on "automatic". Do you have a clue for me?

My reverse camera doesn't work unless I leave the Android auto program. Did you have to wire in to the reverse sensor for it?

You can use the oem or an aftermarket front and/or rear camera!
Hi mate, ordered one very similar and installed fine on my MIB1 Leon, I’ve got the CarPlay working fine and have hooked up the original Bluetooth in order to get sound. (When connecting the Bluetooth for sound via the box, this would connect then instantly disconnect) but the issue is i need to manually switch my phone to Bluetooth than CarPlay for the sound each time. Is there a solution for this? I saw somewhere u have a video on this but can’t find it. Thanks for the tutorials helped me install mine 👍 (seems the same unit just got off AliExpress)
Do you have an adapter cable plugged into the AMI port? If so, which adapter (USB, lighting, AUX)? And is anything plugged into the adapter?
And did you ever test out the audio for music and phone calls with Android Auto?
I'm asking because I'm having audio issues with mine.
No adapter cable here, just plug it in as it comes and that’s how i use it.
Yeah i’ve testen audio for music and phone calls and works fine, even though aux audio quality is a bit worse than BT..
Can you use the regular FM radio at the same time? Just installed one last night and I can’t seem to get FM and Maps via CarPlay working (not the end of the world but would be interested if there is a work around)
no, you cannot have sound from FM radio and navigation. But you can use radio app

I got one question: When I switch on the parking sensors manually or automatically when reversing, I can’t see the parking aid, I da only hear it. What do I need to do so that it automatically switches to the parking sensors when they are activated?

I'd like to know if this worked out as it would be a deciding factor in purchasing this.
This is the only reason holding me back to purchase cartizan module...so basically you would have to exit cartizan module every time you were parking, because from what I have read is that when you select D after R all the camera output and visual aid will instantly switch to carplay display so you will have no visual control on the display about the front parking sensors it will only beep. Did they fixed this? It would be so easy for them to fix this via software, it would be a matter of checking if the "Parking" button is lite or not or by car speed like the OEM does when you drive more than 15km/h it will stop parking aid.
Ik heb gisteren de unit gemonteerd. De kabelboom gaat idd in het gat boven het dashboardkasje. De module heb ik in de ruimte naast het dashboardkasje geplaatst. Mocht deze ooit kapot gaan o.i.d. dan kun je er gemakkelijk bij. Rechts achter is een gat waar je de kabels gemakkelijk kan doorvoeren. Ik heb een Samsung S20 Ultra en deze werkt ook draadloos. Wat me wel opvalt is dat het geluid van veel mindere kwaliteit is, maar mss dat ik nog een instelling moet aanpassen. Normaal gesproken gaat het geluid via de bluetooth en nu via de AUX.
Alles klopt 100% wat je zegt!
Kwaliteit is idd een dingetje wat de een storend vind en de ander niet.
Aux is nu eenmaal niet perfect en ik merk ook wat kwaliteitsverlies.
Ben ook nog aan het kijken hoe ik dit kan verminderen..
@@ot2nie ff contact gehad met leverancier en die zei dat de AUX uitgang standaard op laag staat. Dit kun je aanpassen in menu van de AUX uitgang. Ik heb hem nu op hoog staan en klinkt wel iets beter. Alleen de stem van google is slecht. Ben er nog niet achter hoe dit komt. Muziek etc klinkt nu wel aardig.
@@marcoreel Ja had hem de eerste dag op middel gezet idd, maar toen merkte ik dat de overgang van bellen naar muziek erg onaangenaam was (volumeverschil te groot)..
Thanks for the videos. Could you please confirm - I understand you use Bluetooth to initially connect the phone, but is Bluetooth required to maintain wireless connection once the phone has been setup? I.e. does the wireless connection use WiFi or Bluetooth?
Usually, Wireless Carplay works via WiFi, not Bluetooth.
No BT, only wifi!
The bluetooth sets up the wireless connection. After the connection is established the bluetooth connections drops. Your phone can have only one data bluetooth connection and two audio bluetooth connections at the same time. That’s the reason you first have to disable the bluetooth connection with your car, otherwise it occupies the data connection.

Noticed that Android Auto seems a bit choppy compared with Car Play. Does this improve after setup or it always behave that way on Bluetooth? Also how does it behaves using usb instead of bt?
I can imagine usb being a bit faster, but my experience (from other cars) tells me that Carplay generally is a bit smoother than Android Auto unfortunately..
Maybe the newer cars have better hardware..

It works with all mib1 and mib2 systems. Those systems have the multia media unit in the glovebox

- Do you have direct acces to the drivng mode menu when you are in android auto/carplay?
- Did auto night mode works with google maps or waze in android auto?
- I've read that prev and next button on steering wheel doesn't work with youtube music but could you try with other apps???

You can access the driving mode menu by holding Car!
Night mode, not sure.. haven’t tested that yet..
I’ll try prev and next with the regular music app, but i’ll never use spotify, sorry!
I have the same system and us carplay.
And previous and next won’t work with spofity.
The nightmode works and uses the dusk and dawn times. But the screen will dim if you enter a tunnel etc.

Update : juste received my unit, the black box is really good looking with a nice premium feel from it. just a little worried as it's written on the unit and the box "For AD MIB2 STD". hope it will work, i'll try to install it later. Nice thing to notice is that they gave me the keys with the AA unit for taking out the the multimedia unit from the glove box which is cool!

It works when you have multimedia unit in the glovebox. All functions keep working
I have discover pro so yes I have the unit on glove box, I have read that when you stop reversing and select D on gearbox it will switch instantly to module and that's not good when you are parking because we can't see the visual original alerts on display from the front parking sensor..
Hi, when you are in the rear camer screen is also displayed on the left side of the screen the parking sensor image like in the original system or you can hear only the parking sensor sound?
Can you listen fm radio while you are in the module screen?

Yes to all questions, parking cam switches to on (oem) when going in reverse.
Radio can be kept on, but you can only connect to 1 thing, so car (radio) or carplay.
@@ot2nie thanks for the response, so when you switch to reverse gear the screen is exactly like the OEM screen? I've also read that when you switch to gear D after R it doesn't show parking aid in the left side for some seconds like in the original system, but you can hear only parking sensor sound, is it true or you can describe me like it works? very thanks in advance
@@danilomodica2192 for me it keeps showing parking aid until it stops, then it switches back to cp.
Hi. Does the Sat Nav use the GPS of the phone or the car? Ie: if the car doesn't have factory nav will google maps still work?
If you use satnav through carplay or android auto, it’ll use the phones gps!

What SD card are you talking about? i've never used one in my case.

Is het Enige verscheel voor AndroidAuto gebruikers nou alleen dat het nu draadloos kan? De Lay-out en alle apps die ondersteund worden lijken hetzelfde als de originele Android-auto van Volkswagen zelf.
Ik zag op videos dat je op IOS Snapchat, CZcams, etc. Kon openen met de nieuwe MIB en op Android Auto alleen Spotify en CZcams Music (Zoals de originele MIB).
Dit systeem werkt hetzelfde als de fabrieksaf gemonteerde carplay of android auto😉, behalve dat deze set inderdaad draadloos kan.

You have to connect it through BT and it works for me, so not sure why it doesn’t work for you.
I gotta say, the wired connection is more stable though..

Where have you placed your USB cable? In Glove box? I wish I can have it installed near the ashtray or something... But well the Parking Aid visuals not working properly its really pushing me away from this modules.

There’s a hole above the wiring loom that plugs in the stock unit.

It works on all vw skoda seat with a multimedia unit in the glovebox. (A player with one or two SD slots and DVD)
Heb je nog een aparte kabel moeten trekken voor de achteruitrijcamera? Bij mij pakt die de originele camera niet op als ik hem in ze 'Reverse' zet.
Je moet in het hoofdmenu de camera terug naar factory zetten, dan werkt het weer!

Het gaat via bluetooth, dus als je ge-paired bent en je hebt AA gedownload, zou het gewoon moeten werken..
Heb je al geprobeerd met de usb die in de module gaat?

I had issues connecting my Samsung phones (s20 & a51), running OneUI 3.1,Android 11, via WiFi, USB was OK, but after contacting Cartizan, they were very responsive and helped me resolve the issue. Actually they sent me a new firmware.
What was the issue? Are you still able to play sound via Bluetooth? Thank you
@@ivofernandes88 I'm no longer an owner of this car, but as far as I recall the Samsung phones were having troubles connecting to the unit via both Bluetooth and WiFi. By installing the new firmware the issue got resolved.
I have same issue with a51 , can't connect WiFi to car. Change phone and problems resolved

Nog een vraag ik heb zelf nu passat gte hybride b8 en ik heb navigatie systeem discover pro. Ik heb jukeboy en cd/dvd in mn scherm moet ik dan via OBDeleven pro video in motion activeren denk je dat het dan gelijk werkt?

I think android doesn’t support whatsapp on AA.
Also carplay looks better than AA in my experience with the cars i have seen it work..

So yes, true.
It is not a very convenient system. You must decide if you want to use your rear camera and hands-free BT device with your stock multimedia system or your CarPlay/AndroidAuto box. When using CP/AA box you can't listen to FM radio, nor can a stock BT hands-free set or a reverse camera work. You could rewire the reverse camera to work with the box, but it will no longer work with the stock system then.
The rear cam works with the system just fine, i don’t get what’s not working?
The other points i can agree, but hey it’s a fairly affordable chinese alternative, so don’t expect german style integration, i guess lol
@@ot2nie If you rewire the cam to the CP/AA box it will work with it fine, but when you will be using FM radio, it won't switch.
@@TzOk my camera has always worked, i have never had the need to rewire anything?
My use was 90% CP and maybe 10% FM though..

You have to connect an aux-adapter to activate sound.
@@robertanalbers3089 how does that work with so many phones eliminating the aux port? He also doesn't show an aux cable in this video.
The Cartizan Module use the Aux line to transmit audio to the car you don't have to plug any Aux cable to the car, if your car have OEM AUX in you don't need to buy any additional converter cable that they also sell..

Hey, it works via the AUX setting. But you can't skip songs at the steering wheel. You connect your smartphone to the box via Bluetooth and then set AUX on the car. If you don't have an AUX connection in your car, you have to retrofit it OR use VCDS to tell your car that you have AUX, that's also possible. I did it like this.
I see the brand is Cartizan Champion series. They charge $529 USD for the exact same unit as you are selling for approximately $350 USD...
How is this possible? Or is this a knock off/copy of their product and you've used the images?
Don’t know where you got that price from, but the unit is €325 wherever i look..

Yes, it works with mirroring. CZcams works, netflix does not work (screen remains black because of protection streaming by netflix)
