I am also a 66 yr old pastor/musician. Thankful my momma made me take piano lessons when I was a child! I have owned several pianos and keyboards over the years. This PSR-ew400 has been a delight to play! Some sites regard this as a beginner instrument. I appreciate the ease of use of this keyboard. Very user friendly. My audiences are thrilled with the music I play for them. I play this for chapel services and for the older tunes that the seniors of today love. Thanks Yamaha and Sweetwater Music for providing me with an incredibly easy, but high quality instrument! There is nothing negative to say about this keyboard...Huge bang for the buck!

Thank you for the good review! I have a question: I like the psr-e453, the keys are not semi-weighed, but are they just as comfortable?

Hey there. I'm hoping that you might be able to advise me. I'm interested in the PSR-EW400 but also the PSR-S670. Other than the obvious differences., e.g., 61 vs. 76 keys, the addition of a modulation wheel, and obviously the price, can you tell me what are some of the main features that differs one keyboard from the other?
Up until recently I used my QY70. It had all the features I wanted such as full XG compatibility, real time chord recognition, pattern customization, and sequencer. But it's become ancient technology and I need a practical/professional quality upgrade under $1000.00.
The main features I want are real chord recognition and the ability to edit and even customize my own patterns.
Both thePSR-S670 and PSR-EW400 are real time arrangers and that's the confusing part. Which is better?
I appreciate any advice from anyone. Thank you!
    AJ

The PSR-S670 is better as it is a more professional model with lots of features and even better sounds than the PSR-EW4000. However, if you're on a tight budget the PSR-EW4000 is still a good choice. You can learn more about the differences at either YAMAHA.COM or by watching videos here on YT. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the insight. I went ahead and decided to just spill the bucks and purchase the PSR-S670 through zZound.com. They offer a "pay as you play" service that will allow me to pay for the keyboard in installments. I'm still in the 45 day trial period.
Although I REALLY do like it.., I wish that they made a more compact module type version of it. Similar to the QY70/QY100 or even the Roland RA 30/70/95. I used my QY70 for nearly 2 decades and would still be using it if it wasn't so obsolete. It had ALL the features that I could ever want in a full synth AND.., it was portable.

Good choice! I'm afraid we won't be seeing these pocket sequencers anymore but if you'd like something small and portable then check out the REFACE series from YAMAHA. Or perhaps the brand new MIKROKORG S which will hit the stores towards the end of next month.

lol. Gabe Medina looks like a 12 year old who's never been in front of a camera. Which was somewhat distracting to watch.
