This is the first time i seen footage with the enemy infantry actually visible in the distance especially on the easternfront. Most footage and combat you never actually see the enemy when you're fighting but to see them being shot at by a tank while in a group is surreal
It's even crazier this footage wasn't destroyed after the war (if anyone should do that for some reason, that is); this is also my very first time to see a footage that captured surrendering enemy soldiers in an active battle at the front, crazy

Apparently they had a huge advantage alone by spotting enemy by having cutting-edge lenses on tanks their binoculars lenses that had a secret coating at the time still used today by Zeiss
Love the nice profile shot of the Sd.Kfz. 252 ammunition carrier following the Stug. Looks to be another one waiting in the background too. Don't usually see film of them moving forward with their Stug's into combat. And some interesting combat footage too, with the enemy infantry so close! Not something you see very often.
This is another great piece of film. There are not many shots of the 252, and this is from 1943, it had been out of production for two years, and only 413 were built, these two had survived two winters campaigning in Russia by this point.
Most of the time with these "combat" footag I always assume them to be faked or edited in some way. Usually only firing at suspected enemy positions or just already neutralized targets. But just seeing an entire Soviet infantry line break like that. Chilling stuff. The gunner even gets a few with the shot, crazy marksmanship. And rip those guys.
No, it was either a balaclava or a rolled-up scarf, in both cases pulled up over the eyes. Hair that long would not have been tolerated in the Wehrmacht.

I thought that group of infantry soldiers to be Germans until they were shot by Stug 3.
Yeah those surrending were most likely shot.
