Sorry if am a bit out of it in this review, I played it for a solid day, never recorded much footage as wanted to get mid game before I started recording and when I got up today to begin recording I found all my progress wiped due to the launch patch :o So I had to do it all again which is why am still up and kind of pissed off ) Got Conan to do tomorrow and between the stars, the new warhammer game and pathalogic 2 ffs hand me a trebble vodka ;)

I played the game the moment it got out, and let me say a huge THANK U to the developers! It was an amazing experience, it gave me a familiar feeling similar to Neverwinter Nights 2, the characters made me feel like home, with a family-feeling that made me feel the warmth of the characters. The story was incredible and my top favorite of all time? The dialogues are spoken by the character cuz nobody got time to read. I got zero lagging and absolutely no bugs compared to the simple Spellforce 3. So yeah, It really is a great game!

It's funny to hear an Englishman think that Americans with swords doesn't work. I'm an American and I agree, but I thought it was because I'm from here.
I'm also American and couldn't agree more, British voices mesh much better with swords/ era. But the way Mack seems to, with an extremely SERIOUS tone of voice (he didn't say it jokingly what-so-ever), BELIEVE Americans hate Englishmen for some reason is somewhat disconcerting to me...

I liked spellforce 3, until I encountered so many bugs, I simply put it away for a later date. Never really bothered finishing it after that.
Might finish it someday and then get this. Because what actually worked properly, was pretty entertaining.
The Reforced version has been released and is free to all owners of Spellforce 3 :) it contains lots of fixes and quality-of-life improvements

Yeah swords were used all the way up until the first world war in america. The guns back then were pretty shit, so you would always want a sword as backup

Such a shame that you missed on Spellforce 1, it was a great game. I think it's one of the games that became timless classic, like Heroes III. You can launch it in 2019 and still have fun.
Caught one of my employees binge watching your Worth a Buy videos. I was like "turn up the volume bitch!".
I enjoyed Spellforce 3 for the story and RPG part when I played it several months ago. However, I wasn't able to finish it because the AI cheated in the RTS-section of the game. At first it wasn't that noticeable on the smaller-ish maps because it couldn't swamp you fast enough with units. However, on the bigger maps, it just kept sending groups of units continuously even after I controlled more than half the map. There was no way it could generate enough resources for such a deluge, so I decided not to continue. I hope they toned down the AI's advantage in this one.
I kind of have the opposite problem, as someone who have thousand of hours in Wargame, total war and RTS in general, I kind of just stomp the AI.
In the original SF3 there was a map where bridges are defended by these nearly indestructible towers, So I just ram my elves past it and right clicked on their citadel ...
You can do this on nearly every map as the AI does not leave any defensive units behind to hold off a counterattack, and you have leaders with aura that make units do siege damage, HQ can be taken down in 15 seconds with any reasonable sized ranged army.
You can't have twiddling mustaches and fuckin' swords. YES.
I really need to finish spellforce 3, but Between Divinity original sin 2, pillars of eternity 2, pathfinder kingmaker and kingdom come deliverance and a couple other RPGs I had like 500 hours of RPGs to try and get through.

Americans had plenty of sword equivalents, it was the European colonists that took advantage of the pay to play mechanics.
Since this is an expandalone, is it strong enough to stand on its own or is it heavily reliant on the player having played Spellforce 3?
It's fine on it's own but tbh SF3 is a great game if you have not played it

Well I don't really have the answer but this channel has a shit load of tech heads on that will answer it for you.
No offense but if your budget is 200 usd for a GPU, don't upgrade and save up some money. You'd be better off getting 400-500 usd as a budget because that'll get you further in the long run.
You can get a1070 on eBay for that. Save up a bit and you can get a 1660 for a small amount more

I think that the base game is incredible and I was blown away by the dlc soul harvest this is by far one of the best gaming experiences I have had the pleasure of enjoying ! I had no idea that soul harvest would be like another entire full length game and the Jaku storyline was powerful and I’ll not forget it! (Looking forward too future instalments). Up next Fallen God!

MACK!! - It's the American accent that used swords not the English accent. You guys didn't get your fancy accents until at the around the 1700s. Even then it was primarily the wealthy that spoke like modern English people, the normal folk slowly just copied the rich.

Mack, are those skirmish maps "Official" and shipped with the game, or are they fan made?? The reason i ask is i'm SURE i've played 2 of them years ago in C&C3. I get that RTS maps are gonna look a bit similar but this seems far too familiar.

Wait how do you know it runs slower than Spellforce 3 if you're using a 2080? 60FPS vs. 60FPS?
You can disable V-Sync and compare 180 FPS to 120 (for example).
Because I know how well spell force 3 ran on a 1070 and after playing this on a 2080 I got frame drops that I never really got in SF3 so it was obvious that this one took more of a toll on your hardware.

By the way, if you haven't yet, check out Exanima(WAB!?) - you will really like the devs(and probably the game). They are doing everything right.

Yeah we like to crack jokes about you guys, at your expense, but whom don't we American poke fun at? [we even make fun of ourselves, eg: Family guy/ The Simpsons] If anything, from my own experience, it's the British whom for whatever reason tend to be overly sensitive towards Americans and often time downright standoffish [if that's even a word], it's as if we were the guy who took your girlfriend back in middle school and you never quite got over it... Tbh, GTX 2080 on a 1080p 60hz monitor is overkill and wasted performance. I would upgrade to 1440p or atleast get a 144hz monitor.
Always makes my head hurt when I see people with such great specs accompanied by a 60hz 1080p monitor.

My god it's soooo bad lol, CRPJ aspect is ok, the game has all the tools to be a good game but on the RTS aspect it sucks big time. Overall there's no excitement whatsoever it's just slow, feels long and boring AF.

Why do you play at 60hz and not 144hz when you own a rtx 2080?
I do when I am playing for fun or testing fps but for recording I use 1080p 60 simply because it takes less time to render and process for youtube.
Maybe he doesnt have monitor supporting 144hz?
