First time I heard the name Khayyam was when Kabie Khabie songs hit the air. This was 1976 in Karachi and I was in medical college at the time. Always remember the name as these songs echo on air, en aankhooN ki masti see, aey did -e- nadaan, Khabie Khabie Meray Dil meN, Tum apna ranj o gham, RIP legend Khayyam.
Melody n beautiful lyrics formed Khayyam ji's music. So soulful and heart-touching.Khayyam ji understood beauty n meaning of words/poetry. He did justice to poetry. Above all a true gentleman and a passionate musician.
May Our beloved Khaiyyam Sahab shine like a bright star in the galaxy. The year 2019 was a year of major personal losses for me. Lost my father and also lost my favourite music director

Can any body give better music than Kabhi kabhie , Razia Sultan, Trishul, Shola aur Shabnam, Nakhuda, Noorie, Shankar Hussain,. Dard , Bazaar, Umrao Jaan ... Just to name a few of his hits ...and still he is not considered popular musician !! What a pity !! What else could he do ?

A living legend, original creative music director. Jaidev and Khaiyyam composed for few films but everything they created was timeless treasure . Khayyam relatively enjoyed better commercial success but Jaidev's story is worthy of a tragedy film .
