2/13/2023 What an excellently detailed model, it almost comes to life. I had to look closely to determine it WAS NOT real. The figures, not moving, gave it away. Super job. ;-)
Everything is period correct, the coal dust on everything, the shading, everything is perfect. I would watch these videos every week if possible but I know it takes a lot of work, but you could have your own show on CZcams!
Once again absolutely fantastic definitely takes me back to a time when coal was plentiful and the trains thundered thru the valleys delivering their loads thank you for sharing.
probably the best O gauge vid I've ever seen. As a fan of anthracite coal I wish I could accomplish 1/500 of this detail. And yes, as everyone said the sound makes it that much better
I'm definitely not a signal expert but I've been meaning to ask, why did the train coming from the mine have to stop for the other train if they are on different tracks? I thought that the through train was going to cross over but it never did.
Magnificent! I grew up in Maryland and this sure took me back to my earlier years. The sounds of those 567's is something I'll never forget. Thanks for showing us your fine modeling skills.
Super, thanks for sharing, please at 7.26 : seems to be like in Duel Spielberg first movie, just need an orange color car, and a bad rusty truck behind ! so nice, take care dear fellow : )
Looks like the hills of PA. Alot of the homes are right on the side of the mountains with the tracks running by just like in this video. My friend is from Indiana PA so I've seen this first hand
Hello everyone on you tube and Happy Holidays. I wish there was an O Scale 2 Rail like this around North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina I’d be tickled to death.
Beautiful work and detail. It’s your railroad and run it as you like. B&O/C&O ran GP 7/9s long hood forward as their engineer stands faced that way, so short hoods ran most time back to back. Running short hood forward was a backup move w/ engineer facing away from stand and placing him away from the signals. Gp30s were their first short hood forward orientation. Looks be your work.
Just beautiful - great sound and attention to detail!! Are your company houses the old Weaver Models kit (single unit) ? I'm building duplex company houses from scratch using the Weaver sidewalls - lots of fun!
Only in O scale can you get that type of ‘mass motion’ I call it. Yes, with techniques you can do it in smaller, but O scale ‘feels’ the part in person…
Sound and accessory lighting really is exceptional. With no train clubs witnin 2 hours here in nj, how do I get those passing freight car sounds? Gary j
First time viewer here. My atlas o gauge track is layed but my 18 by 24 ft trainboard is flat with no trees, hills. My many proto 1 mth steam engines with no speed contols, were no fun on 3 percent grades up & down an 8 ft long elevated section so I removed all the elevated sections. Did you use insulation or only sculptamold to create you hills under those trees and for rock faces? Im will add a 15 ft oval elevated run, hand miunting the engines each time, with difficulty since my steam stuff is really heavy. Gary j
Absolutely fantastic work. Love the sound affects . All the tremendous attention to detail . Very well done and a joy to watch

Wow! 👌🙂, It's fantastic as a video, congratulations to the team for this beautiful network and thank you!
This is the realist o scale layout I have seen. Everything is period correct. The detail is amazing. Love watching your videos

I'd love to turn it back a few more years and see steam.
Well done combination of modelling and real sound clips
This is Insane.....speechless!!!
I love the details. The lighting, the signage, the buildings, the weathered cars and the sound all give it realism. Great job.
Two rail O Scale... Nothing else like it. 'Nuff said!!!... Great stuff, much appreciated, thanks for posting. Happy Holidays...
thank you for sharing a detailed video of the beauty operation layout
I really like the added detail of super elevated track.
Once again absolutely fantastic definitely takes me back to a time when coal was plentiful and the trains thundered thru the valleys delivering their loads thank you for sharing.
I'd love to see coal make a comeback. I love coal.
Come to West Virginia. West Virginia Coal is alive and there are Coal Trains running everyday. Engines pulling way over 100 Loaded Cars at a Time.
Wow! Excellent modeling. So many of the details just pop. Loved the weathered rails, the backdrop, the figures.
Awesome layout and great photography. Thanks for sharing

MASTERWORK - Every aspect from layout, every element on the layout, video story / production, Don A+++. Please do more as time allows.
Incredible workmanship
Fabulous. I particularly like the signals, true B&O CPLs. Your crews are well-trained in the rules book.
wow, really pouring the oil to them coming out of the hole, love that 567 sound. Cheers Rob
Really neat operation and layout! As an underground miner, I especially like the miner figures with the hardhats and overalls, very realistic.
Wow. Awesome Awesome 👌. Just looks very pristine and well crafted.
What a treat for this holiday season. I've been waiting patiently for another posting from you. Always amazed.

I grew up in MD as well!!
Truly a great work of art...a masterpiece! Your videos will be a great source of inspiration as I begin building my new 2-rail layout.
Great video. You layout is fantastic. Would love to see the track diagram.
Breath taking detail. I'm speechless.
Stunning, so life like, amazing doesn't cover it!
Love it.
Absolutely incredible… Whenever someone takes the extra effort for super elevation on a layout in O-scale deserves accolades.
Super, thanks for sharing, please at 7.26 : seems to be like in Duel Spielberg first movie, just need an orange color car, and a bad rusty truck behind ! so nice, take care dear fellow : )
Excellent, beautiful work!
Outstanding. Beautiful work.
Your scenery is so great. Just freaking amazing.
I love watching this layout. The best by far.
Even the name of his layout is great!
One of the best Layouts in the World. It represents Appalachia and our Coal. Everything is Spot On. I could watch his Videos over and over.
Outstanding!
Thank You!!! Always so nice to see your Amazing Layout. B&O Rules!!!

Also in West Virginia too
Great layout!! I like the piggy back lead by the GP-30's

That is a work of art
Love those high hoods

Well said.....seeing the Amherst display is what got me into O....
beautiful layout
Sound and accessory lighting really is exceptional. With no train clubs witnin 2 hours here in nj, how do I get those passing freight car sounds? Gary j
Thanks Gary....they are just mp3s taken from real train vids on CZcams. Email me dsmith041@maine.rr.com and I will see if I can send you some.

Gary email me and I will give you more details....
Did you weather your engines and coal cars? With stuff so expensive, I hesitate but perhaps acrylics will wash off if it does come out gary j
Yes I weather everything.....can't handle anything unweathered on the layout
Perfect 🛤🛠🤩👍. Like the Original 👍
Great, Don! What's that sketchy guy doing by the back of the pickup?
Just a miner arriving for a day's work 😀
Hey Im curious, what track separation are you using on curves. I have been using 4.5 inches but some of my friends are freaking out about cleanance.
Sorry just seeing this. Good question....I went with 2.5 inches....looks the most realistic to me....
BTW, that's outside railhead to nearest adjoining railhead....
