- Aprilia RS 457 is a brilliant motorcycle. But the only shortfall is the braking. We did various experiments to find out what set up suits best for the RS457.

Why does this not have more views! Such an informative video. Looking forward to more.
Thanks so much! ❤

Maybe Aprilia can provide an update patch for ABS system and it can be resolved (hopefully)🤞🏻
Hopefully. But it's been 2 months and nothing from Aprilia so far.
@@farhankhan_rr Lets wait till Aprilia's Engineers do something.. That's all we can do right now.. and thanks for sharing your R&D about brakes. DOT 5.1 seems to be very much useful in this scenario.
Great work on the review, loved the fact you have already tried different setups to improve the breaking. This no doubt an awesome bike but the breaking is surely is kind of the only major issue with the bike. Hope Aprilia listens to this feedback and get this resolved, because the break fade under harsh load and breaking can prove to be fatal and is a very big flaw. Keep up the awesome content going. SUBSCRIBED! Cheers mate and happy riding!
Mashallah, that's a very nice and detailed report. Loved the way to you presented and I'm impressed by your knowledge level. Subscribed and followed!
Thank you so much for this video. I'm so glad you opened this discussion and I may have some information that could be relevant. 17mm master cylinder is too much brake for a 4-piston radial caliper on a 320mm single rotor. You do not need a Brembo master cylinder. You need a 15mm radial master cylinder of any brand. Nissin and Frando are very good, but there are less expensive options like MXS and RCS. This by itself should fix the problem, but you could take things a step further by also replacing the brake pads and/or front rotor. If you want to remove the abs you should really get an abs delete kit. The problem with removing the fuse is that you also disable the traction control. There are already abs delete kits for the rs660 that are quite expensive, but they're should be cheaper ones available for the 457 eventually. Again thank you for putting together this video for us. I found it very informative. 🕉🪷🪬🪯
Thank you so much. Will try to get my hands on a 15 mm master cylinder. And yes will wait for the abs delete kits.
I used 17mm RCB on my 390 and they work wonders compared to the stock….the stock is 15mm which still bites pretty hard but the 17mm offers a better stopping performance and it doesn’t fade…
@@BenLaden88 You noticed an improvement because you upgraded from an axial master cylinder to a radial master cylinder. 15mm is the correct piston size to move the necessary amount of brake fluid through front brake systems such as on the 390 and 457. 17mm piston will give you too much brake. You went from having not enough brake to having too much. The problem with 17mm master cylinder on that bike would be that it would give you on or off braking, whereas the a 15mm radial master cylinder with would give you proper brake feel, meaning you would have better control of the full range of your braking. This is why if you go to a top shelf accessories catalog like RevZilla, they recommend the brembo 15 rcs for the 457 which has a single dic front brake, and the brembo 19 rcs for 660 which has a dual disc in front. Full stop 🛑 🏍️ 😆
@@josh_ari I don’t think there is such thing as too much….you slab on better master cylinders and learn to control them…I can brake faster and harder with less squeezing and effort as compared to stock…maybe you’re a google guy rather than a actual experience guy I don’t know…but even R15 V3 and V4 uses duke 250 master cylinders for racing here…the fact that you think whatever you say is correct and nothing else is wrong really begs the question of actual experience…
@@BenLaden88 @BenLaden88 I went to school for motorcycle mechanics here in America. There is an actual calculation depending on the number of pistons in your calipers. I'm trying to share factual information with you my friend, and you are getting offended. It is you that wants to argue. I just wanted to dispel misinformation. There is a right way and a wrong way to do things. If you desire to do things the wrong way, far be it from me to try and stop you, but don't go around trying to get everyone else to do things the wrong way too. Get out of here with all that trash. I'm done arguing with you, Mr. Osama Bin Laden.
For some who os new here your quality is definitely top and amazing 🤩
Information crisp enough ❤
Glad you think so! Thanks.
Thats a good way to promote your store. Keep making new bike videos.
Thank you so much. Will do.
Can i ask what's the name of the brembo brake pad and part number that was used? Is it a pair for front and back?
Brembo rcs 15 when installed does resolves the braking issue completely.
May I ask if the brake system in front of the RS457 uses a 100mm or 108mm spacing? Thank you very much for the information.
Great video. Did you test all the different combinations under hard braking? Also next time have more light or shoot outside maybe
U can try r15 v3 bs4 master cylinder it has a good bite and affordable right ?!
I own a duke 390 which I changed the front to organic brake pads- and yes, the ABS triggers a lot. Fading is another level, it was like my Himalayan on the highways. I’d say ceramic pads and brake fluid change is what you’re looking for.
Do not do any brake deletes etc as you will be losing warranty. Apparently one guy changed his levers and master cylinder which seemed to have improvement but a bad idea.
Strange thing is the 457 already has sintered brake pads in front. Yet it's happening.
Hi, can you also do a simple mod for heel guard? I feel it is also much needed.
Can you give the link to buy these RCB master cylinder
What's the difference between ceramic and sintered break pad?
i am thinking of getting a rs457 but looking at these issues im considering waiting for the later lot of bikes manufactured cause it seems its a issue with the abs and aprilia's hardware
So can we just change the whole braking system
Bro just a question whether have you faced any reliability issues in your RSV4 bcz its said from 2023 model they have fixed up things...
I have had the RC 390 since 2015, and this is my second bike, and I absolutely hate the brakes
Very good video.
Really informative
Glad you think so! Its a new channel. Please share and support.
Farhan ...kindly do the test video ..with RCB master cylinder
You can buy the brembo race pads .or
Just buy the ebc EPFA 606 hh (4800Rs)pads thats all you need, been using EPFA for last 11 years for both my cbr and rc390 and did work well on the track. Clean the discs do the bedding procedure and enjoy.
Dot 5.1 is not going to increase performance (30⁰ increased temperature from dot 4) by a big margin because if the oil is overheating you have other significant fundamental problems. As you will warp the disc or burn the disc.
Can try the EBC for some more time. But the brakes on RC390 are much better buddy. I had the first gen bs3. Ridden it on streets, track, touring.
@@farhankhan_rr I still have the gen 1 even now it's my brother's done over 150,000 km . First upgrade was EPFAs front and HH rear.
@@farhankhan_rr moto Usher has it
Perfect content
Thanks so much.❤ Its a new channel. Please share and support!
So the thing is the bike is not still in the European countries yet, but they are using different break pads here, and yet its because there is big price difference like 1.7L rs difference, between Indian price to European price.
Is there no way to tune the abs setting ??
And can you replace the aprilia abs module with the RC390 module ?
That's something only Aprilia can do. Nothing from their side yet.
I was there today on my ninja 1000 sx
waiting for exhaust change
Thanks bro
Thank you!😊
Very well explained bhai, I've ordered dot 5.1 bf as well. Where'd you get the t shirt from tho?
Thanks Bhai. ❤ I got it from moto gp at BIC last year.
Same abs problem in my sp 160
Pls update after riding the solved bike of arun as mentioned
Will do thanks
Bro you could've tried the EPFA (EPFA606HH) brake pads from EBC. They're too good with significant difference on RC390's(inspite rc have good stock stopping power).
Will try it. Looks like it's not easily available and have to get it on request.
@Farhan bhai: Do we have this braking issue in RSV4 as well?
Not at all. RSV4 1100 factory has top of the line brakes. Brembo stylemma calipers.
I think sc project will sound really nice on the RS 457.
And what are the alternatives for the same?
I'm planning on the SC. Alternative Akrapovic, mivv, Leo Vince
Any idea regarding the launch of SC
Expected date or something
Ceramic brakes are working bro😁
First batch must improve in the upcoming batches
Hoping for that!
The thing is rotor is getting heated
As well the pads will also heat then the disk oil .. and as a cheap fix why dnt you try a 3d printed rotor cooler ..
i mean twin cylinder ..easily catches 170 in track rotor is thin ..
may be it needs that one last thing ..
they say its track machine ..
Had no idea about this. Let me do some research on this. Thanks😊
Why is no one talking about the tyres?
I had the problem of ABS kicking in on my duke 390 when I changed my tyres from Metzelers to Road 5.
Probably the tyres have a hard compound in the centre and is not gripping much.
The tires are surprisingly good actually!
@@farhankhan_rr from where did you get the RCB master cylinder bro
Tyres are W rated and pretty soft... RC390 metzelers are not W rated.. So tyres is not an issue

Can uh please tell me me the price of that left 10r if in sell❤️

After paying so much still we need to pay more @Farhan bro to make breaking good. Sad, still I've to face break fade.
Unfortunately yes. Hope Aprilia does something. Or else we still have to do it to be safer.
Hey Farhan, I'm dead set on the RS457 but many videos about the brakes being shady is throwing me off, the way some bikers are narrating it is kinda scary, so do I go ahead or is this brake problem solvable
You can go ahead. Its solvable. I'm happy with the current set up that I have upgraded to.
I have been driving it since day 1.
You will not get brake Gade unless you are on track. Go ahead and buy the bike. She's amazing
Go and have a test ride bro you will get to experience by your own
Sir any plans of installing tail tidy?
Maybe after monsoons. Coz then the bike's tail and my back will no longer be tidy😅
Nice video. Can I have the ebc brake pad?
Yes you can
This the bike that was on @Strell right?!
Yes!
Are you , or know someone who is working on flashing the ecu?
Yup I know and soon my bike wil have an exhaust and a tune.
@@farhankhan_rr waiting for the notification of that vedio eagerly
Don't you think it's just a software update for the ABS
That's something Aprilia should do. Had suggested them this. But nothing from their end yet in this regard.
How much cost RCB master cylinder & brake pad bro ?
10k for master cylinder. 6k for brake pads.
Bro can you please give me contact details so that i can buy
Can i get contact details for the brake pads and brake levers
Has the brake fade gone?
Reduced drastically.

We are waiting for Full system 🔥🔥🔥
I'm eagerly waiting too!
Make video on those bike Wich are for sale with prices
That's the plan. Will do. Thanks
@@farhankhan_rr All the best bro
some me has changed the master cylinder and the liver mechanism and it performed op in that same bike.I think it was rcs15.
Yup it's in my friend Circle. Will try the bike for a longer ride and see.
Exhaust change bro
You can experiment so we expect from you
As you are richer enough.
A person who is new we can't expect from them ?
Farhan Bhai wher can I buy tat Aprilia shirt it's nice
I bought this in moto gp at BIC last year
@@farhankhan_rr thanks Bhai ❤️
Missing a lot.....
What are you missing bro?
Nafs motors and bikes.
Farhan I'd suggest Aprilia hire you to fix this brake before it's too late. Premium bike like this having this issue is not going to help company's reputation.
Been giving them all the feedback. They're already aware of all my experiments.
Bhai i was gonna book rs457 but after brake review
,Should I wait for the 2025 model?
These upgrades should fix the issue bro. The bike is very good. And we can only hope that they improve it. But can't be sure that they'll improve it.
Apparently the brake setup of RS457 is the same as the RC390, so u probably can try the stock sintered pads of the RC390 itself.
Stereo 🚫 Right earbud ☑
I was just listening it through my earpods watching on phone and sounds alright.
Are you watching on laptop? Because somebody else watching on laptop reported the same.
On mobile same issue
Brakes and abs are important if it fads its production failure, so only must not take in 1st batch u have yo wait for 1yr or 2nd yr
Yup I was aware and still wanted the bike. 😊
@@farhankhan_rr even if power is dull not an issue braking is important i did test ride in falconmobikes and found this breaking issue
Let's go..✌🏼❤️🫶🏻
sir do you have any plan for aftermarket exhaust ??
Yes waiting for it to be out
