- Zanussi ZWF16070W1 washing machine.
The drum would not turn, it was stuck fast. Here's what I did to free it.
Reminder not to wash nails or screws! Check pockets!

My washer was in the kitchen - did a remodel 1 year ago where we did not leave space for the washer in the kitchen - I used the neighbor's washer till now, finally a year later I did another remodel and it was time to hook up my washer... turned it on - it lit up filled up with water, no leaks (good stuff) the time came for it to spin and ... no joy
took it halfway apart and it has the same issue (looks like I may be able to get in there without a grinder)
yours was the only helpful video showing my exact issue Big Thank You!
Just unstuck my drum thanks to the video, now gotta get the rubber seal back. I thought it was bearings but they seem fine now😊
What was in there?
@@bootsowen i don't know exactly yet, but the drum and seal seat have parted so the machine is junk.
I just repair bearings on zanussi, just cut in the midle with grinder, after replacing bearing, Tec7 and put 8 or 10 screws around drum, job done, mashine working just fine, not for sale but still good for me.. Cheers
You deserve an Oscar 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice and helpful video
Thats why i hate washing machines with sealed tub
My neighbor had a hotpoint electronic 1000 deluxe 13 years old brush one repair true British engineering from hotpoint tank of a machine solid
Well done
That’s why you need to empty your pockets before you load it into the machine
You are AWSOME!!
Make a pedal version of this old bike
Hello sir, My washing machine is working probably without load. When I put load washing machine cannot rotate accurate and move from its place
That is a shame? Have you called a repair person?
this has happened to mine and it look like after seeing your Video I may have to get new one and this is a new Panasonic washing machine washing I gutted thanks I look for one that nor seald drum
it happend to my samsung washing mashine today and I just bought it 9 months ago for £600
Yikes, are they silent drive models or the normal type motor and belt drive?
@@bootsowen is silent drive model
Bootsowen hi can u please help me, I have a indisit washing machine and the drum doesn't turn at all but the belt and everything work on the rear. Just the drum doesn't move from the front. What do u think is wrong
If you turn the belt and drum from the rear does it turn?
bootsowen hello thanks for the reply, yes it turns perfectly fine on the rear just the front drum not turning unless using force
So if you were to take off the belt can you turn the big pulley easily, the big pulley that is attached to the drum? And have you watched my video, there is a clue in there as to what can go wrong. It could also be a broken spider (google it) on the back of the drum. One way to identify this is to look around the door seal and see if the silver drum is centred in the (presumably) plastic tub. Like when you use force to turn the drum from the front does the drum look like it is wobbling from side to side? If so the spider is probably dead. Regardless of any of these diagnostics you machine is possibly very broken! Let me know how you get on.
bootsowen it does wobble abit I thought there's something stuck lol. What would u say is it worth repairing or buy new or 2nd hand
Those are economic decisions. I wouldn't buy new, but then I would just repair it myself if I can. Up to you and your means really. Some people like to buy new. I prefer to spend under £20 on washing machines that are working. And if they break I will fix them if it costs less than £10 or buy another for £20, But I am not typical and I also keep a spare machine, so I don't have to buy another in a rush. There is always a machine on gumtree or ebay (in UK) for under £20. Let me know how you get on.
Was that a welling motor?
What do you think?
bootsowen I don’t no ... I’m visually impaired that’s the only reason I asked
It looks like an ACC motor to me. Why do you ask? You could also find out by googling the model number of the washer.
bootsowen thank you ... I have a great interest in electric motors and the makers of them and such like. I like to research about them a lot
@@bootsowenit looks like nidec motor
Seized bearings maybe?
Aha, maybe if you watched the video you'd have the answer?
so this why you should never put nails in your machine.
I don't think it usually matters, I think this was just bad luck. It was completely stuck fast. Pretty rare event I'd say. More likely to do damage than to get stuck.
Sealed tube silly design that a zanussi flaw
I agree.
My electrolux has a non sealed tub
They scrapped it I had my own shed I took it way to tip net day
Bastard
If you cant fix then call customer care for help dont destroy it 😂😂
Did you even watch the video?
