    The drum would not turn, it was stuck fast. Here's what I did to free it.
    Reminder not to wash nails or screws! Check pockets!

    My washer was in the kitchen - did a remodel 1 year ago where we did not leave space for the washer in the kitchen - I used the neighbor's washer till now, finally a year later I did another remodel and it was time to hook up my washer... turned it on - it lit up filled up with water, no leaks (good stuff) the time came for it to spin and ... no joy
    took it halfway apart and it has the same issue (looks like I may be able to get in there without a grinder)
    yours was the only helpful video showing my exact issue Big Thank You!

    Just unstuck my drum thanks to the video, now gotta get the rubber seal back. I thought it was bearings but they seem fine now😊

    Bootsowen hi can u please help me, I have a indisit washing machine and the drum doesn't turn at all but the belt and everything work on the rear. Just the drum doesn't move from the front. What do u think is wrong

    • @bootsowen
      @bootsowen  Před 6 lety

      If you turn the belt and drum from the rear does it turn?

    • @_B_A
      @_B_A Před 6 lety

      bootsowen hello thanks for the reply, yes it turns perfectly fine on the rear just the front drum not turning unless using force

    • @bootsowen
      @bootsowen  Před 6 lety

      So if you were to take off the belt can you turn the big pulley easily, the big pulley that is attached to the drum? And have you watched my video, there is a clue in there as to what can go wrong. It could also be a broken spider (google it) on the back of the drum. One way to identify this is to look around the door seal and see if the silver drum is centred in the (presumably) plastic tub. Like when you use force to turn the drum from the front does the drum look like it is wobbling from side to side? If so the spider is probably dead. Regardless of any of these diagnostics you machine is possibly very broken! Let me know how you get on.

      bootsowen it does wobble abit I thought there's something stuck lol. What would u say is it worth repairing or buy new or 2nd hand

    • @bootsowen
      @bootsowen  Před 6 lety

      Those are economic decisions. I wouldn't buy new, but then I would just repair it myself if I can. Up to you and your means really. Some people like to buy new. I prefer to spend under £20 on washing machines that are working. And if they break I will fix them if it costs less than £10 or buy another for £20, But I am not typical and I also keep a spare machine, so I don't have to buy another in a rush. There is always a machine on gumtree or ebay (in UK) for under £20. Let me know how you get on.

    • @bootsowen

      I don't think it usually matters, I think this was just bad luck. It was completely stuck fast. Pretty rare event I'd say. More likely to do damage than to get stuck.
