I just got the same seat today for my klx300 2023 model. It is far easier to put my feet on the ground and it is noticeably lower, mine is not the SM just the regular klx300. The seat is comfortable, and it seems to place me closer to the tank as that appears to be where the biggest amount of foam was removed. I bought the complete seat with semi gripper top. If you are used to riding off-road this forward position is natural and comfortable. You can sit back some and the grip helps keep you planted. I bought a seat concepts xl comfort for my dry 400, it is taller than my original seat which already may have been cut with a lower profile, I'm not sure as I am the 2nd owner. Overall, I feel I think less about my backside and more about the ride. To me, thats a huge improvement over stock seats

I wasn't sure at first if I liked the comfort, but it's better now. I sure appreciate being able to put my feet down

How did the seat turn out comfort wise? Do you still get any pain in your thighs from the new seat? Just bought the same bike btw and it already had an adjustable 4" lift installed from the dealer set to 2". Haven't noticed any handling issues.

I got the low profile seat as I'm not a tall dude. It's just ok as far as comfort and just slightly better than the factory IMO. That being said it does almost allow me to flat foot it which is important to me as I'm 57 and have two bad knees. No pain in my thighs. You might try some after market foot pegs. Might be indirectly related to your foot position

I got mine today, there was no thigh pain, the low seems as comfortable as the stock seat, it is a lot thinner foam vs stock. No regrets buying the seat, I was pleasantly surprised how much the footing was increased by just a seat swap, I would say it feels 90% better footing wise vs stock. I took an hour ride, in the first 10-15 minutes it felt natural like the bike should have come stock with the lower seat
