Great channel! Very much enjoying your content. This video is what brought me to the channel (newly subscribed). I’m a glass artist and was greatly amused to find the first item you listed was small glass fused pieces. I wanted to offer some advice.
Don’t mix different types of glass in those little kilns (or any kiln). The different types of glass when mixed will crack apart. If you’re finding pieces are breaking it’s often because COE’s were mixed together. (The different types of glass have different COE’s/ simplified to keep this sorta short.) Another thing that will make glass crack is heating or cooling too fast, so follow kiln directions.
Now on to UDL video binge.
Hi Linda - welcome to the family 🙂🙂🙂 I so happy to have you here. Also thanks for the tips.

Thank you for sharing your talents..I was wondering what do you do, besides hammering the cans to get rid of the rough edges? ❤
Hi thanks for watching. I file or sand down the corners but the edges aren't really sharp.
Very clever and unique crafts!
Thanks 😊
Love her ideas. Wish she showed how she made these.
Hi Susan - there are links to the tutorials for all the items in the description of this video. Let me know if there is something you can't find and I can give you the direct link. 🙂

i adore what you do and you are so creative with it :) i am wondering how you are colouring the metals though? i really want to give things like this a try but i am definately a splash of colour kind of gal and in need of tips
Hi Donna - Thanks so much for watching. I have used acrylic paint, spray paint and
alcohol ink to color the metal. I am all about experimenting. :-)
o(*゚∀゚*)o. ヽ(*`゚∀゚´)ノ
I love that u experiment and share that with us!ヽ(*´▽)ノ♪
o(*゚∀゚*)o└( ゚∀゚)┘
Hi Cindy, thanks for the tutorial! Are you using paints on the tin can earrings, possibly Vintaj paints? Thanks!
Hi - I did use acrylic paint but I don't know which brand. Thanks for watching 😊
you are very talented!!
Thanks Janet 😊
In Australia, the Salvation Army has an online thrift store, and they sell broken jewellery, including broken watches, from time to time. Bulk lots. I bought some bags of old buttons recently, which I'm planning to use for craft.
Hi Grace. I love old buttons I have quite a few myself. Have fun with your project. 🙂
wonderful
Thanks Colleen 😊
On the mismatched watch face earrings do you leave the works on the back or use the face only? Thanks so much!
Hi Kathryn - I have made them both ways but I think I prefer to leave the watch mechanism on the back for two reasons. First it adds a little weight to the earrings and I kind of like the steampunky look it has. And secondly if you remove the back the watch hands also come off. Thanks for watching.
For the clock faces, you can find a template on line for them or buy wooden clock faces at a craft store. I will try to make some. And if you want to make them look realistic you can buy the hands at craft stores too.
Hi thanks for watching and for the ideas.
Hi! Do you have the tutorial on how to make the tin can journal covers? I do a LOT of journaling and those are a great idea!! Thank you!
Hi thanks for watching. I am happy that you are inspired. Here is the link to the tutorial.

Awesome artwork
Thanks 😊
Excellent job congratulations
Thanks 😊
What wonderful projects! I was excited to see the watch earrings because I'm working on some. Do you have any advice about getting the hole through the face without damaging it?
Hi Andrea - thanks for watching. I am sorry but I don't have any great tips on that. Some watch faces work better than others. I actually switched up the way I make them. I now leave the mechanical works on the back which helps to hold on the hands and it adds a little weight to the earrings. Then I wrap wire around the mechanical part and make a loop for the jump rings. Hopefully that makes sense. I should probably make a new tutorial. This link is to a pair that is for sale in my ebay store if you scroll through the pictures it may help to show you what I am talking about. www.ebay.com/itm/155404344774?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=287IC-8mSqm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=287IC-8mSqm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@@UpcycleDesignLab Thank you very much. This is very helpful!
@@andreadube3537 happy to help 😊
@@UpcycleDesignLab Did you glue the wire down at all? I'm thinking I may try solder...I've been trying the wire but I'm afraid it won't stay on it's own without glue of some sort.
@@andreadube3537 yes I used clear e6000 glue to hold the wire on the back.
Upcycle Design Lab, Cute upcycles! How did you put the beads on the aluminum can rings?
Hi - I cut the rings and then taped them back together and covered the tape with the beads. Thanks for watching.
Wonderful, do you have a tutorial showing how you cut the earrings? Lovely!
Hi thanks for watching. I think this is what you are you looking for. czcams.com/video/iJ9ZuAtl_T0/video.html
@@UpcycleDesignLab Thank you!
How do you soften the edges of the dragonfly wings? I'm so scared of working with aluminum! I love that you upscale. The dragonflies might just be my christmas idea this year.... if I figure out the edging thing! Thank you for sharing your lovely works .❤
Hi - I don't actually do anything to the edges but if you are worried about the edges you can use silver dimensional paint on the edges. Thanks for watching 😊
Those gorgeous large glass beads you have strung up in a bracelet, how on earth did you get the hole in them??? I went through every glass video you’ve posted and was sad to see you haven’t done a tutorial on that.
Absolutely love how dedicated you are to using scraps and bits of everything ❤
Hi thanks for watching. I did sort of discuss the process in this video. czcams.com/video/E_yeCxSROAI/video.html
But I could certainly make a more detailed tutorial. Thanks for your feedback.
So you can use the paper bead roller for tin or aluminum too?
Yes I use it to roll beads from the aluminum drink cans but I don't think it would work for heavy tin cans. 🙂
I love these ideas!! (: How exactly do you make the watch earrings?
Hi thanks for watching. Here is a video on the earrings. czcams.com/video/p3_7F5cco44/video.html
@@UpcycleDesignLab Thank you!
Is the sanding of sharp edges really time consuming. Would a Drexel type tool be able to do the job or does it requires a thing like a buffingwheel ?
Hi Sharon - I am not a fan of sanding so I didn't spend much time on it. 🙂
Nice 👍🏾
Thanks 😊
What times of year and/ best types of crafts shows would you suggests for handmade unique clothing?
Hi Shelly - I'm sorry I don't really feel qualified to answer that question. I haven't attended that many craft sales myself but I've had good experiences and bad so I think some of it is just experimenting in your niche.
Amazing items - just one question are the tin items sharp? Just a bit worried re health and safety!
Hi thanks for watching. The edges aren't really sharp but the pointed ends need to be handled with a little care.
You may not think you are a master crafter but you are ❤😅
Thanks Maria 😊
You are amazing :)
Thanks 😊
How do you roll the edges for protection from sharp edges? I haven’t seen your other videos yet. You may have the instructions there.
Hi Julia - There are more details in the individual tutorials and in some cases I have covered the edges but in most cases not. I haven't found the edges to be too sharp to work with or dangerous once the projects are finished. To each his own though. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Very creative! I have hundreds of buttons meant vintage. Got them cheap with the intent of crafting something. Any ideas anyone??
Thanks for watching. Have fun with all the buttons. I would check pinterest for some ides. 🙂
nice
Thanks 😊
