Thing about Hunger is since she as never been trained she admits she is slowly losing her deep voice which sucks so her live performances are not so good as her earlier performances. Still love her. Hey, nice red hair ^^ I have a problem with Jinjer, I really love Tatiana's voice, I think the other guys are great but I cannot get into most their songs, except for Pisces. Like they usually lack an structure or hook to grab onto (that's probably why Pisces is the exception lol)
The really interesting thing about Jinjer is they keep the song fresh by constantly and consistently changing it. So for example you might hear a riff repeat two or three times at the beginning. Normally you would expect that riff to repeat as a hook, but instead something happens to it. The notes are the same but the timing changes, or one or two notes get added to it or subtracted from it, or even the tinkle of a bell chimes over it. Every song is like this to the point where you can listen to a Jinjer song three or four times and catch something new in it every single time. This is why they don't have hooks. They are instead giving you fresh and new repeat plays. It's very high concept and why they are at the forefront of metal right now. Their albums are very consistent. They're not just ten singles thrown onto a record. Instead, if you listen through an album in one sitting you will start to become aware of why every song on the album belongs there. That's how metal albums used to be back in the day, and it's why Jinjer is attracting both young and old fans. I hear from older people all the time who have been out of metal for decades, but are now coming back after hearing Jinjer. My advice would be to try listening to an entire album once to see if something clicks for you. Try one of their earlier and more accessible ones like King of Everything.
Mediator comes right out of the box swinging. Wallflower is another slower starting song that builds up but the lyrics set the darkness of the song.
