@@AntiDoctor-cx2jd But as you saw from the video slow banelings still counter marines. Marus world level micro was not enough to reduce the damage from the banes. First of all, you complaining about slow banes on creep and thinking that it's somehow a major issue is a joke. @@KoinzellGaming slow banelings sometimes counter banelings. Even fast banelings aren't that great. They don't really counter pure marine, but they do kill the marines later on when armies get really big and it's hard to micro.
@@AntiDoctor-cx2jd You don't seem to know what you're talking about. Banelings 100% counter marines, they are one of the strongest early counters to marines and the only way that marines don't directly lose vs banes is if they have a perfect pre-split, off creep and if there aren't enough speedbanes. Please try playing with marines and NOT making them clump up during micro/attacking, all of that is micro and even with all the micro banelings can still get good trades against marines, especially on creep.. Fyi Maru is/was one of the best players in the world and he got annihalated by a-move banes. Banes destroyed that all-in just through pure a-move and pulling back at a right time.
I swear pushes like these lose because they stim FAR to early and then they stim again and again before it runs out. I've done this with just combat shielded 1/1 marines. People think stim is just too good but what makes marines OP is the snowball count. So in reality it's much harder to kill 28, 55hp marines with no heals then jt is to kill 28 45 hp marines that auto drop themselves to 35 hp to attack and move faster. It's not a worth trade off. If we do the math on this right. A combat shield 1/1 marine push with 28 marines is 1540 hp effectively. A 1/1 stim push has 940 hp effectively and it drops to 700 if nothing dies and you stim twice. Sure how fast things CAN die with stim is superior. But you also make yourself so much more likely to die so much faster nerfing your force by almost 35-40% taking away 20 hp per marine just because you stimmed I strongly believe if maru went earlier without stim OR just didn't use stim so easily he wins this 9/10 times the snowball count of marines was too much for reynor to handle watching this game on cast. He killed himself stimming 3x

IMO here you can clearly see why baneling is a bad unit design: it is all or nothing, a bit like gambling, everything is decided in 1 second. It is bad to have such things in a Strategy game.
Not really different than a Broodwar Scarab. You pay some resources and get one shot to do good damage. You lose those resources whether it's good or bad. Disruptors are similar, but not as bad. One shot to decide a lot of damage, but they will stick around if you fail. But a lot of the time they usually only get a few shots off before they die, even in pro. I'd say Banes are more cost-effective than Disruptors because of this. If the game was decided in that one second, you might have a point. But actually the only thing decided is how effective 50 minerals and 25 gas is for you. There's a lot of push and pull.
@@RuneKatashima it is not about how cost effective they are, it's about how easy to slip by using them and how easy to make a mistake when playing against them - that is the main ingredient to "all or nothing" situations
@@RuneKatashima well you shouldn't been taking so much about their price and cost effectiveness in the first place then. Also you named the problem yourself: after making a short disruptor at least remain alive, but banes dont - so they are more all or nothing than disruptors or reavers.
