Patrick, I’ve never seen you so animated! If this is a workout, you must have lost a stone! Seriously, this account is very uplifting. A composer who definitely needs to be heard. Brilliant performance.
Simply stunning, by far the most beautiful performance on CZcams and love the cantor C# on the “a” of bar 2 and throughout, sounds so much lovelier than dropping a 3rd to the C! Can’t find a score with the C# though, did you just amend the score, or is this version out there somewhere!?
Thanks ever so much. I think there's some debate about that note! According to - some - versions of the 5th Magnificat tone, that's the correct interval. But I think others disagree!
A wonderful rendition. Thanks for putting this on here, even though I am late to the party! Who is the alto who came in first? Amazingly clear tone and sound. Bravo to all!
Suuuper!
Magnificat Quinti Toni Magnificat: anima mea Dominum. Et misericordia ejus, a progenie in prog- eniem: timentibus eum. Amen.
Am I right in thinking the ensemble is a flexible one? I notice different sopranos for some of the videos, and perhaps other voice parts as well. For example, the soprano third from the left appears in the Parsons 'Ave Maria' but not in all the videos. The voices blend very well in any case.
Hi Trevor! Well spotted! We currently have 8 regular members who sing in everything we do. We then have another 6-8 singers who sing with us when we need them. This means we can be flexible, and have exactly the right number of singers for each project we do. We're glad you think the blend is good, anyway!
What a find that tenor is!
One doesn’t often see such a clutch of top voices together- it makes a glorious sound.
Yet another brilliant performance!
Yes he is... we've barely sung a concert without him, since...
Hieronymus Praetorius! Beautiful sung from this Ensemble ❤️🙏
Thank you!

Lovely rendition of a beautiful piece The echo and resonance from the church really adds to it. Where did you record this?
Thanks so much Laurie! We recorded this one at St James' Sussex Gardens in London.

Who's the tenor soloist? Lovely sound! :-)
Chris Fitzgerald-Lombard! We think he's rather good too!
Where can I find the music to this
www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Magnificat_Quinti_Toni_(Hieronymus_Praetorius)
Is this pierre de la Rue music?😀
Hi! It's by Hieronymus Praetorius! Same kind of era but a little later!
