    Good to see you back, Chris, but I am also glad you took a break when you needed to. Harbor Freight has a few things they've improved recently. Remember their awful cast iron anvil shaped objects? Well, they added a decent Doyle Cast steel anvil for less than a couple hundred bucks. It's no Peter Wright, but it is a solid offering.
    Oh, if you need a sturdy trellis for stuff, I picked up 8 foot wire stock panels at tractor supply for cheap. I got two, wire tied them together in an a-frame and planted the cukes so they can climb up the frame with plenty of support.

    I bought this pump several years ago to fill a 330 gallon IBC tote from a pond. Then we pump from the IBC tote and through a 20 foot PVC pipe with holes drilled in the pipe. So basically it's a long sprinkler. And that's how we fertilize our fields! Works very well. That pump rocks.

      @jasoncampbell2559 Před 10 měsíci +1

      I also just bought one for this same purpose but to water my small food plots when we are starving for rain. I like that idea of the pvc pipe. I could possibly set that up in a stand at the plot site and just plug into it. What kind of pressure or water spray distance do you get through the holes drilled?

    • @jeffy1466
      @jeffy1466 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@jasoncampbell2559 I run the pump with just a little throttle and it sprays the water 10 feet out the holes. At full throttle it'll spray 20 feet. It's very powerful and I think it'll do what you need it to do. You may just need to tweak hose size to make sure you're spraying enough water.

      I have one of those gas pumps and thought about running it - I only need to maintain 30 lbs of pressure to Ron 8 sprinklers -
      I thought I might try using that gas engine pump I have - it's only costing me about 60 cents a day in electricity - we are short of 30 inches of rain this yr

  • @Idahoprepper71
    @Idahoprepper71 Před 2 měsíci +1

    It won’t hurt the pump at all to reduce to a 5/8 garden hose. It’s a centrifugal pump so it won’t hurt anything. The only thing you don’t want to do is shut the water off completely on the discharge for very long or the pump can over heat. I run my 2 inch pump down to 3/4 hose and it works great.

    Also recommend consumable pipe adapters on the pump itself if you connect/disconnect frequently. It hard to keep those threads clean and this way when the get messed up its a quick fix, instead of the thread on the pumps needing fixed replaced. I have always wanted a water tower for watering the garden with drip irrigation. Build one and figure out for me lol.

    I have seen a ton of metric hose clamps. Usually, on Perkins, Kubota, or Mitsubishi. Pro tip for the suction screen, we used to tie a bucket on the suction pipe so the screen wouldn't plug with silt. That was on a 4-inch pump with 5 or 6-inch suction pipe.👊🏼👍🏼🔥🧡

      @Killinger summertime fun, that black stinky pond water and a 90 degree day. We had two 7/8" rain birds that would reach about 120 ft radius. My old man would send me in when the advance would stick and turn the rainbird into a spiraling 80 psi fountain. Then he would take the other one and drowned me while I was working on the stuck one, lol. We had fun.

    I can tell you how to control the pressure at aerate the pond at the same time. What you want to do is to put a T fitting there at the pump. At that that G do you want to put another hose with a valve in the T first. At the other side of the T put your hose on it then you could take a valve and put it on the other end of your discharge hose. The valve that you attached to the T and run the other hoes back to the pond and you can adjust your valve upper down and it’ll change the water pressure and then you don’t blow anything up like hoses and stuff or the pump within you can control your volume on your work hose

    I just bought this pump myself and have been searching out different hose and connector ideas. I don’t like how the discharge hose bends and crimps when I’m using it and slowing down water flow. I may just buy another intake hose and run one of them on each end.
