no it doesn't it looks like they can't make a working gameplay footage and took a bunch of prescripted scenes. look at the walking scenes it looks like they took a separate character animation and slapped different backgrounds. At one point the frame rate dropped to like 20fps most likely real gameplay.

For an open-world game this seems to be WAY too focused on cinematics. I'm thinking they should have focused the budget on the gameplay and the adventure, maybe a little less on story telling... Although star wars is arguably focused on story, and you still have to get that right.
I feel that late 70s aesthetics is crucial in the design of a Star Wars world and this game gets that right. Trying not to get my hopes up too much cause this really looks too good to be true.
you should look up the graphic engine, made to be used in The division. snowdrop, rather than using unreal 5 or unity like 99% of other games.

The biggest problem I just have with this game is locking you into a certain story direction while acting like it's a game about being a outlaw. To me the only way that makes a good game as if it's free roam with the game just giving you some prompt and directions to go but doesn't necessarily make you do it. Everything else about this game might be okay if the mechanics in the physics works fine. It's just the story is not inspiring at all it's just too generic to care about. My Hope for this game that the hackers can do a lot of mods for this game and break the code and make it where you can do pretty much whatever you want without the store getting in the way.

Because this game tells a story and you can’t really have a truly fleshed out protagonist if it’s a created character. Silent, nameless player inserts are good at what they do but this is best for a seamless blend of good gameplay to cinematic character moments

Playing as your own character seems so out-of-step with Star Wars though. It's really been about telling stories of heroes and that's most easily accomplished with a preset character. Disney also seems to be big on intellectual property and creating their own characters.
Jedi Academy pulled it off really well back in 2003!
Stopping a convoy and watching all of those stormtroopers rush out was something I never thought I wanted to see. But Ubisoft might actually be cooking with this one.

Unfortunately, it seems that Death Troopers will be a joke again. Funny, considering they were the last enemies for the highest wanted level and "one of the hardest challenges in the game." I bet they'll be owned easily like the rest of them.

Frontiers of Pandora was technically by Massive studio probably but helped by some Ubi studios. Solid gameplay but the narrative was a bit weak.

I get the joy of creating your own character, but there seem to be bounties in this game too and having a fixed cahracter helps with the narration. A game with just bounties and no plot would be kinda dull idk

I remember playing the Nintendo 64 on a tube TV, blocky graphics, bare minimum. I can’t imagine people seeing this and saying it’s a let down, or they aren’t pleased with the gameplay. This game looks wild.
I don't care about the visuals, I care about choice and an actual compelling world that I can really (and I mean really) interact with/leave a mark.
This game isn't that, and don't go the fanboy route and call any differing opinion as "wild", that's a very arrogant/dismissive take to have. I also grew up in the early days of gaming, but I see things differently from you.

The first BGAE was waaaay before my time but I know that it has one of the biggest unresolved cliffhangers in gaming so when the sequel was properly announced I remember everyone just went apeshit

The game could have potential if it would truly an open world game but they made it clear in the trailer it's going to be on the guard rails kind of story. With only the illusion of an open world feel it should have been more of a sandbox kind of game where you make your own story.

Seeing that nice 45fps at some scenes and less than 30fps at other scenes get me concerned for the optimization of this game.
Optimisation will likely be good considering this is made by the guys who made the Avatar game using the same tech and they are excellent devs who know their engine, however it will be heavy (that does not mean stuttery) so if playing on console say hello to 30fps, and if there is a 60fps mode, get ready for considerable graphical compromises, but again, I do not think this game will have frame pacing issues.
Will this have a main story, or only random jobs you are doing?
Of course, a Main Quest. The ''errads'' can be off the beaten path stuff , it's the accepted Standard with large Open World games these days.

Anybody that thinks that they can subscribe to Ubisoft Plus for cheap, and beat this within a month are crazy. Ubisoft will bloat this game up, and gatekeep missions via level, so it will take you months to beat it.
I'm still going to do it this way. I use the Ubisoft membership to see if it's worth it. Once I play the game to a certain point or if I beat the game and I believe it's worth my money then I buy it, but I usually wait for it to go on sale before buying it. That way I didn't waste too much money. I did the same thing for Avatar. I 100% that game within the month and got all the achievements for Avatar and Mirage within the same month. Afterwards, Once Avatar was on sale I bought it. Mirage wasn't worth it in my opinion. So as long as it's not as long as Skyrim I think I'll be able to 100% it within the month.

The point is to do missions for shady figures, explore places, learn about the underworld and choose who to betray and when. I'm hoping for the chance to buy or customize your own ship, but its obviously possible that could be revealed later or in the game

I really hope open world is accurate and it’s not just a linear game with “open world” areas.
A lot do what is in that trailer looked scripted so assuming it was all missions / contracts. Would be good to see some genuine exploration gameplay and see what the open world actually looks like.
