    I like this for many reasons. Organization, multiple uses in the same space, plans available if I want to make my own. Most importantly though... one step closer to not being able to fit the car in the workshop. Great job.

    My drill press isn't on a flip top and has drawers underneath. The option I took was to set it up so I can use the drill press bed to support extra long lumber. I adjust the height so it is level with the miter saw bed. Great work.

    “Keep child labour alive!” 🤣😈 Mine started out that way, wanting to help... now, hes 30 and got sooooo many things he ‘wants’ to do (hiking, fishing, camping, soccer, softball) and I’m retired so I find I’m helping HIM do his projects now or closing ‘shop’ and we both go out salmon fishing 🤔🥴🤪 Enjoy your time with your son, it’ll be memories that you’ll both be able to look back on fondly. Nice build, it includes everything that I’ve been trying to ‘MacGyver’ into my single car garage shop in one unit! Keep up the builds and I’m now a (fellow Canadian) subscriber!

    Love all the ideas here, but I'd really like to see more of the finished product and, you know, just demonstrating using each tool on it. It felt a little rushed. I think this could easily be a longer video. Thanks for sharing. I think the only thing I might add is raising the height of the table to accommodate a jointer under one side of the miter saw. I saw another video with that idea and it seemed like a great way to store it out of the way.

    Polycrylic semi gloss is what I did with mine. By the time you get finished with the first coat you can go back to where you started and lightly sand with 400 grit and apply a second coat. I did three coats in one evening and it turned out great. Nice work also my man. Agree with the track saw comment also.

    This is great staff, very nice ideas but I have a question:what happens when you want to use the router table more "deeply"?for example when you have to put the router fence 5 or 10 inches at the back,then how to you slide your pieces?

    • @furthernorthfab
      @furthernorthfab  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks, yeah checkout my latest video for my sons bed. When I have to make deeper routing passes, I remove the fence and open up a way larger area to work with

    Awesome Build dude! I bought your plan and looking forward to it! One question I have is can you BEVEL your mitre saw?

    • @furthernorthfab
      @furthernorthfab  Před 5 lety

      Thanks, Joe! On my saw I can, but I never use that function on my miter saw. Can’t wait to see your build! If you post pictures of your build on social media, please tag me in them so I can see your progress!

    What are the rough overall dimensions of this? I don’t want to buy the plans if its too big of a footprint.... (total length & depth)

  • @harrykline3998
    @harrykline3998 Před 5 lety

    Great video and I love the layout. That is definitely making the most of space. And really like the idea of being able to share a fence between mitre saw and router if you have long pieces. Only one question...will you come build me one?

    Nice work! I like the router table integration. I just posted my miter saw station build on my channel and I finished it with a pre-cat water based lacquer. It's a General Finishes product and has no odor like regular solvent nitro lacquer and sprays/finishes beautifully, highly recommend it. Thanks for sharing.

    That looks great we'll done, just one question, do you find having the router built into to miter saw station limiting? I imagine it's great for edge routing but I guess you can't to things like dados in the middle of large panels?

    • @furthernorthfab
      @furthernorthfab  Před 4 lety

      peter green it’s for sure a trade off with some jobs, but I still see the benefits outweighing the fallback. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    • @furthernorthfab
      @furthernorthfab  Před 4 lety

      So just under 8 feet on the left and 3 feet on the right.

    Great build. I think I want to copy your design and get your plans, but first what is the overall length of your station?

    • @furthernorthfab
      @furthernorthfab  Před 5 lety

      So it’s 10 feet 7 inches long and about 5 feet tall

    • @ratcityrain

      @@furthernorthfab Great thank you. I'll determine this weekend if I have that length, of course if not I can change the dimensions to fit.
