Ariana Grande is a talented mimic. She does dead on verbal impressions of other celebrities, so she's certainly really good at memorizing sounds. So maybe she started with mimicry and memorization but built on top of that to learn Japanese.
yeah she has a Japanese tutor
Ariana may have echoic memory.
Some Japanese said some of her pronounciation are wrong. But it's fine we still love ariana
That's how I learned it
Japanese is commonly taught in both Australian and NZ high schools.
In my school in NZ, Japanese lessons were mandatory for 6 months in the first year of high school. We only learn very basic stuff, culture and some hirogana
Japan was a major pacific economic power, and we do lots of business with Japan. Japan is a popular place for travel too.
Why does NZ and Australia study Japanese?
lol it's mandatory ?
hiragana*
Japanese became popular as a subject in the early 1990s in Australia, and then in the late 90s, it overtook French as the newest foreign language to learn. Depending on the school and teacher, Japanese taught at school is mostly about the culture and basic things like numbers and greetings. In Australia, a foreign language is mandatory in the 7th grade for one year, or six months in the 7th grade and six months in the 8th grade, it depends on the school and schools will only get whatever teachers they can get from any language group.
When your Ad takes up 4 minutes of a 9 minute video, you're doing something wrong.
Australia is close to Japan and in the 80s and 90s there was a lot of Japanese investment in Australia. Japanese and French are the most commonly taught languages in Australia. ă ăăæ„æŹèȘă話ăăäșșăć€ăă§ăă
I'm Australian and learnt some Japanese in primary school and high school. I'm 32 now so I don't remember much of it, just a few words, sentences and I can remember what about half of the hiragana looked like. Many schools here have Japanese as the L.O.T.E subject. I think it has something to do with business between Australia and Japan. In high school every year we would have Japanese exchange students that would stay for about 2 or 3 months.
Australia is very connected to Asia.
James remar usually plays the bad guy in films. But here he is super humble and nice.
1:15 I'm from Melbourne, Australia and I'm not sure why either. For me it was mandatory from grade 3 to 6 then a choice was given to continue learning it or study Italian instead in highschool. I assumed it was because we were closer to Japan than many other first world countries because Japanese tourism or immigration isn't that high in my experience compared to other Asian countries such as Vietnam, India and the Philippines. We also had "sister schools" in Japan where students from both schools would travel to the others country for a week or so to live in a native students house whose family would volunteer to accommodate them so the students could experience the different culture. A cool program for giving children life long experiences and education on foreign culture. I still remember kids circling around the Japanese students like paparazzi wanting to get to know them and become friends. I was still nervous going on 3 day long school camping trips let alone foreign countries though... brave kids đ
Australians learn a lot of asian languages because every country around them are asian ;). They are very far from europe and north america! So I assume they must learn a lot of Chinese, Thai and Japanese!
Have you guys heard of Laushuu ? Black man who can speak over 50 languages pretty cool to watch him mess with people
Up
He sadly passed away back in March RIP đđđ
May he Rest In Peace
@@coolrock9281 bruh wtf happened
@@damnmuggle Heart complications⊠Itâs so sad, he was one of the few genuine language youtubers that was out there actually educating and entertaining people. His impact was crazy, I still come across comments about him like this one when watching other language videos. He was a bright, talented, positive young man :(
James Remar's wife of 30+ years is Japanese.
We had Japanese in my junior high school but it was only around for 1 year and only Spanish for the rest of my grade school years.
at my high school in new zealand we learn te reo mÄori (native language), french, sÄmoan, and japanese
Hello! Great video! I wish you would have translated a few more things some of the celebrities were saying. The interview with James Remar looked so fun and they both sounded so happy. I wish I would have understood more of what both of them were saying. I really enjoyed watching your react video. Keep up the great work.
Good evening.
Good eve... oh my God you speak Japanese!
Are you doing well?
Oh!
How do you speak so well!
I don't understand or know (He didn't seem confident speaking this line, it's sort of hacky.)
You are speaking very well!
Oh, thank you so kindly!

Strange huh?
The rest is in English.
@@MiYakuT wow thank u so much!
Yeah, I have a very limited understanding of Japanese (learning now), but even I could tell he threw in âhajimemashiteâ (nice to meet you/how do you do) kinda randomly, and maybe one or two other phrases, but he speaks it a lot better and more confidently than I do.
every time i hear bokksu, i think of the korean word for revenge... is it just me??? surely not lol
Aussie here, so in the late 90s to early 2000s we had German & Japanese classes in high school(year 7 for 1 to 2 terms). Reason being at the time Germany & Japanese were the biggest trading partners hence it was quite common for Japanese to be taught. Margot would be the same generation as I growing up in the 90s and 2000s so that would explain why
In NZ I studied Japanese
The second largest Japanese community outside Japan is in Australia.. So yeah.. Makes sense to learn the language.. đ
I thought it was brazil
@@ethana.6045 Brazil is the first one, that's why they said second.
Japanese is taught is some American schools . Its usually is sometimes an option of a few different languages a student can choose
You should react to Ansel Elgort. Iâm curious how is Japanese sounds
Check out Rui Hachimura of the 2023 LA Lakers. Speaks perfect, fluent Japanese.

We learn Japanese from grade 7 - 11.

Of course, it helps that James Remar's wife is Japanese.
Nice video bro...
I just rewatched Charlies Angels and Cameron Diaz butchered Japanese in it. Can you do a reaction to Japanese spoken in movies, I think Jason statham had a particularly bad one to.
Sir are you Brasilian-Japanese?

Did he try?
I have an aunt who has lived in Monaco for 15 years yet doesnât know more than basic French phrases that she can use in the grocery store. Itâs because she refuses to make effort and watches tv only in her native language. What a wasted opportunity
You look Korean
ăŸăææ„
Okay... Is that it? Where's the rest of the celebrities? This is a clickbait to advertise products. Waste of time.
I skipped all the advertisement parts
You guys talk way too much in between instead of letting the videos do the talking. Very annoying! Thumbs down
Boringđ
That's your problem. Trillions of videos, and you manually selected this one.
