    Your video was great for helping me change out my 2007 Jeep Patriot starter. My jeep has the 2.4L so your process was great. Much appreciated.

      That's why I drive a 1992 Ford Ranger. I also have a 1976 Chevy G-10 Van that's been in my family since 1976 (mom and pop {RIP} bought it in '76) that has 850,000 miles on the original drive train. I'm gonna restore it.
      I also have a 1972 VW Karmann Ghia that I've completely redone. Also a 1981 Harley Davidson that will be up and running again soon.
      I've been a mechanic for almost 50 yrs and I've seen automobile's go from simple to ridiculously complicated. Someone forgot the old old adage that simplicity is the ultimate in sophistication.
      Automobiles aren't getting more efficient, they're getting more complicated and extremely expensive.
      I had a 1967 VW that got 32 mpg and that was in 1970. I could tear the engine out at 0600, rebuild it (stock) and have back in the vehicle and running by 1800 and that after taking a few brakes during that time period.
      In 1989 I paid $25,000 for my house and took 10 yrs to pay it off. Automobiles are costing more than my home and taking 7+ yrs to pay it off.
      Auto's today are mostly JUNK!!! Expensive JUNK!!!
      Of course a fiat currency doesn't help, but really this is ridiculous.

    You do not need to pull the throttle body only the breather box tube going to the throttle body to many wasted steps here .

    that tube goes to the bottom of intake manifold, but yes it is a evap line straight from the evap valve/solenoid

    Where does the yellow starter wire connect back in at?

  • @Bikerben76
    @Bikerben76 Před 10 lety

    It's the plastic piece at the bottom of the intake hose elbow that holds the wire going to the throttle body. If I can't get it off I guess I could cut it out then just zip tie the wire afterwards. Thanks.

      I don't even remember what exactly that is, are you talking about a hose, or maybe the plastic holder. I realize the video is not 100% in focus for that particular part. at about the 2 min mark.

    Hey can you help me... I replaced mines and put battery cables back on and it did not crank..... Then I unhooked the neg. cable for a few minutes it started fine cut off and tried to start it and it wouldnt start. So do the computer need to be reset?

    • @fixingcarsandstuff
      @fixingcarsandstuff  Před 9 lety +1

      Anthony Lovelace Why did you replace the starter? For the reason you are experiencing now? Likely not a starter problem, maybe ignition switch, safety or clutch switch or computer problem.

    • @loveman07
      @loveman07 Před 9 lety

      It wouldn't start unless I hit the starter....

    • @fixingcarsandstuff
      @fixingcarsandstuff  Před 9 lety

      need to make sure the connections at the battery are clean and tight and you of course have a good battery. I think the computer is tied into the starting system , not sure exactly how though.
