I think the coolest thing about Mohg is that he’s the underlying penultimate villain of Elden Ring. Yes, there is Rykard and of course, the Elden Beast, but Mohg has always been there since the beginning… The very first NPC you encounter after stepping outside the starting area is one of his most renowned servants, Varre. A man who is most likely responsible for the death of countless maidens, including your own from his freshly blood-stained clothes. He guides you to kill your first demigod to test your mettle and in doing so, provides you a chance to join him in serving Mohg. The first invader you can encounter is a bloody finger, Nerijus. The bloody fingers serve Mohg to diminish the competition of becoming Elden Lord; and from the looks of their ranks, Nerijus, Eleonora, and Okina are feared throughout the Lands Between. The first main boss we fight is an illusion of Morgott, Mohg’s twin brother. Although not much is known about their relationship, there’s no doubting the two share a similar form of the omen. While Morgott’s hatred towards his cursed form made him weak, Mohg’s acceptance of his monstrous form granted him audience with an outer god, The Formless Mother, granting him power and ordaining himself as the Lord of Blood. But the scariest things about him isn’t his ambitions or his connections throughout the Lands Between, but his crimes against Miquella. Mohg kidnapped him to make him his consort and become Elden Lord, while he could do nothing to fight back. Even though Malenia believes him to be the most powerful empyrean of all, he’s nothing but a powerless child within his bloodstained cocoon; and there’s no telling what kind of disgusting things he’s been doing with him all this time. And yet, no one seems to care of his disappearance, all except for Malenia… Mohg is nowhere but also everywhere…Slowly calculating his coup of the Golden Order, to bring about his dynasty. He’s cunning, intelligent, perverted, and powerful. If he’s able to ascend Miquella to godhood, the Lands Between would most likely have no choice to bow down to him. After all, you’ve killed nearly all of the demigods before getting to him at this point. The Elden Beast may be the final boss of the game, but Mohg was the overarching villain who could almost never be touched, until we stumbled upon his palace. Truly worthy of the title, Lord of Blood! Edit: JUSTICE FOR MOHG HE DID NOTHING WRONG
Mohg is probably the most twisted character in Elden Ring. He stole Miquella from the haligtree, who is cursed with eternal childhood. He needed *him* to be his consort so he could have at least a chance at being Elden Lord, and expand the amount of followers he has. So canonically, Mohg is a gay pedophile.

The word "zero" didn't exist in latin, it came out with arabian numbers. I know the etimology is the same of nothing meaning, and in this case you could translate it with "zero", but "nihil" itself doesn't absolutely mean zero.
Rykard area wise is Satanic but Rykard himself gave more of a Jormungandr vibe than a Satan vibe. Mohg on the other hand has obsidian skin, a FUCKING GOAT HEAD, black wings like those of a crow, and he uses fire blood attacks while carrying a trident that looks like something that Satan would use.
While the atmosphere of Rykards fight was hellish, Mohg is probably the closest to Satan himself From has ever come. Goat horns, trident, fire blood magic, and crow wings? Pretty damn clise
Mohg was such a METAL boss fight. The countdown he was yelling added so much to the atmosphere of his already incredible fight. I even emulate him when using his weapon and yell "NIHIL!" every time I do the Bloodboon skill just because it's so satisfying to completely obliterate enemies with that deadly ability.
Good to know I’m not the only one that screams “NIHIL” while using Mogh’s trident Bloodboon ash of war 🤣🤣🤣 do that every time, feels like it does more damage if you do that 😂
The sad thing about Mohg is that he is nothing more than a tool for the one of the Outer Gods to subdue Miquella before he can become a true threat to them. Mohg was tricked by the Outer Gods and believed the by stripping him from the Haligtree, bringing him to a place normally impossible to reach even by Malenia, and feed him blood would bring about his long dreamed dynasty. But all his actions ever truly did was halt Miquella’s growth and keep him confined. In the end, his dream truly was foolish.
In True lovecraftian fashion im sure Mohg would’ve achieved his dynasty, just not exactly in a way which would benefit him in any way. He’s already gone absolutely insane; it’s likely Mohgwyn once birthed would have either devoured him or would’ve served as he intended only the formless mother would rule and Mohg would turn into a Radagon esc. Figure.
I really wish we got more dialogue or interactions with Mohg, actually I wish this for most of the bosses (Malenia, Godfrey, Radagon/Marika, etc.) . They're all so interesting but all we get is a fight and then we "fell" them. I hope we get more expounded lore/story in the future DLC's. Especially on Miquella
Imagine a time travel DLC were we can meet and fight them at they prime that would give more dialogue during bosses like if you fought rykard in the past he would recognise you during his normal fight and switch to phase two instantly
So, depending on how you interpret the tense Malenia's boss soul is written in, it's possible we haven't seen the final stage of the rot transforming her into new life. Did she bloom a third time mid battle with us or is the flower we find afterwards her third blooming?
well fromsoftware have said in a interview that they will be exploring the lore of elden ring beyond the medium of gaming. So we might get movie, series, anime, comics etc
I'm always delighted to think "Oh wish this song had this" and pam, few days laters, damn hours sometimes, someone goes and upload this kinda masterpieces. Don't mind if I do, I'm downloading this
Voice actor trivia time: in 'Chernobyl', Mohg's VA played the power plant director, Viktor Bryukhanov (the guy with the curly hair and raspy voice). He was also that other blood-obsessed character in DS2, funnily enough. EDIT: Titchy Gren, that's who I'm thinking of. The little gnome or whatever who runs the PvP covenant.
the only way i could possibly enjoy this more is if the intro dialogue was included before the music started. "WELCOME honored guest" gets me every time
is it just me or do you feel the pain in the voice of Mohg when he says "Dearest, Miquella..." I feel he never wanted things to turn out to the way it is but he had no other choice... He was the kindest demigod to welcome us "faul tarnished" "lowly tarnished" "graceless tarnished" when it comes to Mohg "honored guest" tl dr: those who suffer the most are the kindest.
When you hear the first "Nihil!" you know you better heal and fast! And not only once, but 3 times! Then you have to deal with quite a beast with 75% of health and who can deal huge damages! What a great fight!
Everytime I hear people talk about this fight its "man that second phase 2 heal thrice sucks" and im "wait you guys had to heal? I just drank the funny juice and took like 5% damage in total from his nihil"
Even without the tear, Mohg's phase 1 isn't hard to read so you should have plenty of flasks to go, and the timing is pretty generous to allow the heal check. Perhaps because I'm used to MMOs, but I didn't hate hom having that mechanic, but I know some people HATE mandatory damage, that's what the tear is for. Plenty of Souls bosses had mandatory damage before. The drop into Nito and Stray demon for example.
what i love the most about Mogh is how even though Mogh is a crazy, evil monster you can see why he become like that. He wasn't born filled with hate but the fact he was throw in a filthy sewer all alone made him that way, not as a way to justify him but to see why he became like this Him and Morgott are such incredible character too see what abuse lead too, one followed a path of depravity and destruction while the other seek validation from the very people that hate him
You know I just realized something from listening to this. Mogh is the lord of blood but Moghwyn may not be him but rather the upcomign heir he expected, named by using his own name and the name of Godwhyn, the first demigod to die and become the prince of death.
I'm pretty sure that by putting Miquella in a cocoon he was trying to create Mohgwyn, who would later become elden lord, while Mohg was still able to control him.
@@driprey I can see that. Quite a subtle hint though, to use the name Moghwyn to show the intention of making someone of equal status to Godwhyn while also using the first part to show sho will be controlling everything, all this in a single name without havign to say a word about teh plan and what it entails.

“I am Phoenix of the Pureblood Knights. I stand by my brother in arms, Ansbach with blade aloft, blood aflame for the dignity of our lord and master, Mohg!”
Others: "I will do what I believe is right, for there is nothing left."
Mogh: "Let's fuck around and make our dynasty!!!"
Feels good to be a day one Mohg fan.
The same way I can't hear the Dancer's theme without the footsteps, and the Cleric Beast without the screams I needed this with the voicelines.
Thanks, been searching for this since I beat Mogh.
I feel this with the Orphan’s as well
And don't forget the death sound of Living Failure XD
Or the monk from fountain head palace theme without the malicious laughter.
"NIHIL! NNIHIL!.."
*"Ni-HIL!!!"*
god i love the last scream
Still ain't the same without the noise of my character getting hit with each nihil
I love how so many people came back to apologise the way they viewed him before the DLC. Hiring Ansbach is the best PR move Mogh ever made.
What moms feel like when they start counting to three
Chankla!! Chankla!! CHANKLAA!!!!
this hits different after the DLC.
HE BEAT THE CASE
Appearances always deceive an angelic and good angel, just as not all monsters are evil.
I have never been so wrong about someone in my entire life, all hail the Lord of blood. Glory to his inevitable reign...💔
The fact that I hated him so much, and now love him so much shows how well written his character is🌹❤
For those ones who wonder what nihil means: it means "nothing" in latin
He's counting "Three, two, one, zero, zero, ZERO!!!" in latin
The word "zero" didn't exist in latin, it came out with arabian numbers. I know the etimology is the same of nothing meaning, and in this case you could translate it with "zero", but "nihil" itself doesn't absolutely mean zero.
It works doubly cause I thought he was shouting "KNEEL!" for the longest time.
So basically it's a count down in Latin
I took Latin in school, so this made me smile as I heard it the first time. I was like “oh no, stop counting down in Latin”
TFW the only person who was truly moghlested was Mogh himself:
I think Fromsoft just made the closest thing to Satan ever.
Mohg is Elden Ring's satan confirmed!
Ngl Rycard’s boss fight is like you fight in the depths of hell
Rykard area wise is Satanic but Rykard himself gave more of a Jormungandr vibe than a Satan vibe. Mohg on the other hand has obsidian skin, a FUCKING GOAT HEAD, black wings like those of a crow, and he uses fire blood attacks while carrying a trident that looks like something that Satan would use.
They both felt like I was fighting a Diablo 3 boss.
Good to know I’m not the only one that screams “NIHIL” while using Mogh’s trident Bloodboon ash of war 🤣🤣🤣 do that every time, feels like it does more damage if you do that 😂
Also that ash of war absolutely wrecks the shit out of the godskin duo
You have to scream NIHIL it's the law!
Bruh, I also "nihil" when using the weapon art 😂, it adds that swagger
I scream NIHIL too!
Mohgers... RISE!
I'll take "people judged too early" for 400, Alex.
MOHGWYN BEAT THE ALLEGATIONS BOYS!
The GOAT beat the allegations. Mohg what a man you are
The sad thing about Mohg is that he is nothing more than a tool for the one of the Outer Gods to subdue Miquella before he can become a true threat to them.
He needed to put those foolish ambitions to rest
he did have direct contact with the formless mother. he mightve been able to bring about his dynasty of blood, something that even gideon feared.
@@emma-rz7mf Trust me Miquella will rise as Moghwyn and he won't be happy when he does.
Figure.
@@dylanschmeichel2008 The HP lovecraft references, alongside the Biblical/Alchemical ones are enough for me to write a fucking thesis on.
Ahhhh, o' luminary Mohg, thou dids't nothing wrong, this I swear upon my life as a Knight of the Moghwyn Dynasty.
I agree, I found myself wanting more
So, depending on how you interpret the tense Malenia's boss soul is written in, it's possible we haven't seen the final stage of the rot transforming her into new life. Did she bloom a third time mid battle with us or is the flower we find afterwards her third blooming?
well fromsoftware have said in a interview that they will be exploring the lore of elden ring beyond the medium of gaming. So we might get movie, series, anime, comics etc

He's in the batman too, holy shit i didn't even make the connection
He’s also a pirate in Our Flag Means Death!
Haha that's wild, I loved the guy's voice in Chernobyl as well as Mohg's, would never have made this connection without your comment.

JUSTICE FOR LORD MOHG AND THE BLOODY FINGERS (aka bleed build users)
Mohg's gonna become that puddle of blood he rises from once the dlc comes out 🐱
When you hear the first "Nihil!" you know you better heal and fast! And not only once, but 3 times! Then you have to deal with quite a beast with 75% of health and who can deal huge damages! What a great fight!
There's actually a Physic Flask mixture that you can find that that allows you to ignore it
You only have to heal twice if you have enough vit going in. After the second hit, but before the third and if you want, after the third.
@@EziekielNightwind But it’s definitely easier with the crystal tear you get at the Second Church of Marika
Second church of marika.
Clap elenoras ass and take her physik effect.
Its protects from the "NIHIL"
Yeah that Physick tear makes this fight a breeze because you take no damage from the curse.

It's disrespectful not to include Radahn, Maliketh and the Regal Ancestor Spirit here.

does mohg nihil on you out of frustration beacuse miquealla wont wake up
Holy shit its the no bitches guy from elden of the rings
I can see it, as clear as day... The coming of our dynasty... Moghwyn!
Everytime I hear people talk about this fight its "man that second phase 2 heal thrice sucks" and im
"wait you guys had to heal? I just drank the funny juice and took like 5% damage in total from his nihil"
I just let him kill me with it cuz it was so badass
Even without the tear, Mohg's phase 1 isn't hard to read so you should have plenty of flasks to go, and the timing is pretty generous to allow the heal check. Perhaps because I'm used to MMOs, but I didn't hate hom having that mechanic, but I know some people HATE mandatory damage, that's what the tear is for.
Plenty of Souls bosses had mandatory damage before. The drop into Nito and Stray demon for example.
I tank it and I keep attacking him
¿You had to fight his second fase? I did him so much damage I killed him before he could say nihil once
His lines are some of the best. "Miquella is mine, and mine alone"
what i love the most about Mogh is how even though Mogh is a crazy, evil monster you can see why he become like that. He wasn't born filled with hate but the fact he was throw in a filthy sewer all alone made him that way, not as a way to justify him but to see why he became like this
Him and Morgott are such incredible character too see what abuse lead too, one followed a path of depravity and destruction while the other seek validation from the very people that hate him
And now we can throw being brainwashed and manipulated AGAIN into the mix
A victim of miquella the fickler
justice for mohg
Possibly, I just assumed it would be the name he took when he became ruler by proxy of Miquella, like how Godfrey took the name Godfrey as Elden Lord.
@@driprey Miquella is in a cocoon of his own accord (to fully grow and try to help his sister), Mogh just kidnapped him and corrupted him.
