It's so sad that many have to resort to settling matters out of the court. We shall never know what they agreed on or what usually makes women drop charges, but we know that it's never about forgiveness, it's about survival.

I would voluntarily share my take on this, not taking away your opinion,
the story line for me is on point in terms of showing the reality of how woman in abusive relationships feel and how from the other person they seem.(stuck, silent and looking sad or sorry as you put it)
Cici would then be their thoughts, their pain and what they hope and wish could happen hence the prison scene.
woman stand together sharing and wearing the same pain and yet anticipating the consequences of taking action against the abuser they fear and the system that has let many of them down, hence the same colour clothes and standing still, for me it conveys exactly how as much as they may be in pain and ideally wishing to do something about it something is holding them back.
hence, they stand together, with same colour clothing symbolizing their pain, waiting and hoping that someday all this will come to an end.
this video shows exactly how the situation looks like from all angles.
so rather than seeing it as a video to empower women, it may be a video to warn the abuser that the clock is ticking for them because the victim may at anytime take action.
