Hi Lee, your bottom drain air column is stopping your skimmer from working properly. Your bakki showers and the filter end air curtain creates more than enough air. It happens on my pond so I only turn mine on when I want to stir the bottom up a bit. I use kusuri sinking and I’m very pleased with it. I’m going to try their multi season too. You’ve really nailed the hobby in such a short time. When you first started I said the greatest pleasure is picking a fish that turns into something special and you are doing that very well. You’re definitely the one to watch on the show scene. Good luck.
I use alot of kusuri products lee there alright colombo is another great 1 , i cant wait for my new 4 arriveals, iv used kusuri klear was ok great product

If foam is a problem, instead of adding chemicals, look into protein skimmer or foam fractionator
