Synopsis:
Balu (Rajinikanth) is a spendthrift and carefree youth. Seeing Balu's attitude, his rich father sends him to his friend and ex-military man Gangadharan's (Sendhamarai) house in a village to get reformed. Things get complicated when he gets entangled in a web of love triangle.

Watching this now shows how much we have progressed as a society. Things that were said casually in this movie wouldn't ever be said in today's movies. Casually degrading the working class and perpetuating class based segregation in almost every dialogue is funny. Satyaraj's excuse for helping his boss is that he didn't want a common man to marry the daughter of a wealthy man. Repeatedly, throughout the movie, the woman's choices are disregarded. Classic movie indeed. I'm so glad this culture is behind us. ❤❤

I'm still only watching 80's -90's movies as they give peace to us, calm, beautiful, story, nice songs, meaningful dialogues.
Todays movies doesn't give us that feel. It makes us angry due to CopyCat / stolen stories within India or foreign, NO STORY, Slow motion unrealistic action scenes , Camera and lights are given more and more important than the story or dialogues 😖😖😖, CopyCat or same dandanaka songs, giving awards to eachother within industry ...

To be honest, fr rom my knowledge and what I have seen. There are many actors in our Tamil industry who can act and cover many audience. But this man, " Man is Rajinikanth" who can nail the character when it comes Humour.
Thalaivar is a dedicated actor. while everyone says Kamal is genius actor. no doubt in that. but Kamal is obsessed to prove his talent and cares to go beyond limits. because of him Tamil film industry has improved a lot. Similarly Thalaivar is obsessed to give great experience to audience and he really cares for structuring his manerism for the character (example 2:05:56 he does cool style in a tensed moment. this gives belief to audience he will win the fight). no other actor till now does that.
