    I used a cast aluminum holly valve cover in the early 90's. The modello 7200 shaft mount roller rockers cleared fine. I was using the Engle 28/29 cam, it had 292° and 300° with .544 lift on both sides. The old holly ones did have a small olds symbol on them.

    I used chevy BB rocker studs and HS S5003 rockers and my M/T stock size valve covers worked with a steel/rubber fused gasket and it all fit perfect.

    The other problem, at least on my A body, was that the power brake booster has a clearance problem

    The set with the offset breather holes is based on the 1966 Toronado 425 design not SBC.

      Ahhh, I looked up some pics, and sure enough, that's it. You're right! But I still don't like it.

    You can also make a plate with about 1/8th or 3/16th's in thick aluminum and glue a gasket on each side to add the thickness, yes it's a bit of work making them but will work.

      Thanks. I'm hoping the BB covers will work. They're a little taller than the 73/74 covers.

      I get my Olds valvecover gaskets from Competition Products in Oshkosh, WI
      They are a thick rubber with a steel core design, and they are like $14 a pair. I like em, no issues with leakage on any of my Olds motors.

    them 5 bolt valve covers work very good on a stock valve train,no leaks

    Mondello has valve covers that will fit. That's what I used.

    • @hutchhiperf

      It's more than just fitting the rockers. It's fitting the engine and A/C Box too. They also have to have a factory look for my taste.

    Stock valve covers fit over Harland Sharp rockers minus baffle

    • @hutchhiperf
      @hutchhiperf  Před rokem

      The old BB ones do. I'm going to fashion a thin baffle to cover the opening to keep the oil from being pulled out.

  • @keithv4452
    @keithv4452 Před rokem

    dude, you need long high performance baffles or you will be chasing oil consumption. High perf baffles are very long for a reason

    @krazykozey2259 Před rokem +1

    I bought those same Chrome ones and didn't realize the breather whole location either. Horrible location. Also, the baffles inside those chromies look like they were spot welded by a 9 year old.

    • @hutchhiperf
      @hutchhiperf  Před rokem +1

      I was reminded that they're the Toronado style breather location. Still don't like it.
