There's a reason it costs so much, they can't replace the screen they have to give you a new watch. So compared to the iPhone screen replacement cost its not too bad. $199 for a brand new product or $129 for a new piece of glass. Doesn't seem that bad to me. What do you think?
I disagree, Jamaal. The $199 replacement is most likely not for a brand new product (it could be a refurbished product), and Apple is taking your damaged device, repairing that one, and most likely selling that one as a refurbished device and/or using that one for future replacement devices. If the $199 is for a brand new product, and I'm paying for such, I'm really getting double whammied by having to pay that price AND surrender my damaged Watch. Not too customer-friendly at all in my opinion!
I accidentally hit mine against the table and it left a tiny scratch that’s unnoticeable unless you look very closely, but I’m still kinda bummed out cus it was the second day I got it :(
I had AppleCare. The second year I fell on my watch right on the pavement and broke it they replaced it for 69 bucks. No big deal lot cheaper than buying a new one.
Apple Care is $49+$69, which totals $119. No Apple Care costs $199. New Apple Watches don’t cost much more than that, depending on the model. Those repair prices are still quite ridiculous in my opinion.
Yup, soon as I ordered my series 4 ,44 mm I also ordered a bumper case and screen protector!!! Although.... knock on wood, I’ve never broken ANY of my Apple products in the 11 years I’ve owned them.... nope not-a-one. So far that is. I take exceptionally good care of my stuff.
It would be the same if to fix the bumper of a car, it cost $10,000. It’s not the fault issue, it’s the unreasonable prices, plus Apple has terrible repair PR bc they don’t sell repair parts, so they can monopolize the market of repairs. The real analogy would be a fender bender on a Civic that seems like it wouldn’t be a big deal to fix, except only Honda can install a new fender, and they can charge you whatever they want to do it, because it’s difficult to find third party parts, or someone who can.
steven thompson it’s funny how normal old fashioned watches don’t seem the have this problem. You think for the money they could at least use glass that’s shatter proof. It’s ridiculous and they know it’s a sure way to make easy money.
I think it’s $199 because they cannot just replace the glass, but they have to replace the whole watch itself. It’s the same for iPads. Apple stores only replace screens of iPhones.
That might be true, but it doesn't seem to help out the customer too much, Michael. A "sports watch" with a potential $199 fee seems so counterintuitive in my opinion.
You added up the AppleCare cost plus the fee that you pay them when it's damaged, but you also get a second time to bring it in to be fixed. So if you paid, $49.99 + $69.99 + 69.99, that's about $190.00 (being fixed twice as appose to paying outright $199 for one fix). That makes it worth it for me.
Hey, work at a store that sells and repairs these. Apple Care is like any other insurance company. Everyone paying into subsidizes the few who actively use benefits. When I sell the watches and warn them about the dangers of not taking Apple Care people scoff, but it usually costs almost as much to fix an apple product as it does to just give you a new one.
Crashguard (most elegant protector esp with frames) or tempered glass (if you don't like bulky crashguard or you like it look naked ) with sport loop like anchor gray is the best
UGH! I bought my apple watch a couple weeks ago, and I got the stainless steel one so I was already feeling pretty weird about spending so much money. The awesome salesperson at the Soho NYC store asked if I wanted Apple Care for $50 and I was all, "naaaaah I better not spend the money." She looked at me like I was insane and said "YOU'RE NOT GONNA GET APPLE CARE???" I thought she was gonna slap me, and now I know why. I need to go back in there and give her a big hug. Love your channel and sorry you had to endure this tragedy!
Thanks for the kind words, Mike! Getting Apple Care+, especially for the stainless steel version, can't hurt I suppose. I hope you never have to use it, though! Thanks for watching and commenting, man!
Probably a good idea to buy the apple care but not for this, this really effects the entry level watched that have a glass screen. If you bought the stainless steel you should have a sapphire screen which really holds up. I've been using my daily for a year and change (stainless steel black) and banged it up against things like metal door handles and it's still scratch free.
Great video! I wish I had seen your video earlier.... My experience is identical to yours: same circumstances, emotional response when it happened,, reacted the same way when speaking with Apple etc except I have a series 3 and the repair cost is higher and did not produce and post a killer video. Your video should be mandatory to watch prior to purchasing an Apple Watch....
I definitely recommend a case - my favorite is in the video description box - but a screen protector can be hit or miss depending on the individual's preference. My favorite screen protector is also listed in the video description box! I hope this helps!
Shattered my series 4, needless to say I’ll never be getting an apple watch ever again due to the ABSURD price to fix a screen. I’ll be going with a Suunto, or Garmin from now on.
apple care can be used up to 3 times so i think it’s worth it if you crack it 3 times, would you rather pay $597 without or $257 with? edit: i have applecare+
I literally broke my apple watch completely today. I got out if the shower and I grabbed my apple watch off the sink, then i bent down to get my clothes and my Apple Watch slipped out of my hand. I didnt know it was cracked and i picked it up and my heart dropped. It was completely ruined and now i dont have an Apple Watch. I only had it for basically a month because i got it on Christmas. Im very sad and i felt so cool having a Apple Watch. Be careful with your Apple Watch. Edit: It’s ok I got a new one because my sister broke hers before and she got a new one.
The OLED display is also a fraction of the size of the iPhone though, PF. Still too high of a repair price in my opinion but thanks for watching and commenting!
Something even worse: my phone got the “exclamation mark of death” after a new software update which is a glitch from their part and they wouldn’t fix it. I never dropped it, never broke it. Nothing on my end. I take it to Apple and they claim it’s something they can’t fix and that I’d have to pay $229 for them to replace it with a refurbished watch. Really???? You screw up with your software and I have to pay? I was upset beyond explanation. I can’t believe they would treat their customers this way. So yes having apple care is absolutely important BUT...it’s only for 2 years and if something happens after the 2 years, you are screwed anyway.
I have a Apple Watch Series 3 that I ride four wheeler with and I went to clean it and dropped it face flat on a rock from about 4.5 feet and I felt my heart drop but the Apple gods where smiling on me and nothing happened
My apple watch (series 3) uses the Spigen tough armor casing inherited from my series 1 and 2 watches and that casing is a tank surviving hard floor drops , brick wall scuffing and being catapaulted 1/2 way across a room . kept my first 2 pristine and sellable for 2 years . Now its rocking on the Three . Best 15 bucks i spent ever!
My series 2 popped by it self. After 20 calls to apple they agreed to fix it with not cost. The glass shattered by itself! Now I purchased the new generation plus apple care in case!
Alfredo Ibarra which is annoying in itself. My iPad was replaced in warranty because the battery was swollen and caused the device to separate, and they gave me a refurbished one, which now doesn't hold a charge....when my other one was in perfect working order, except the separation at the side. 😡
Loved this video!!😂😂 i get it‼️ i remember the first time i dropped my iPhone i thought i was going to die but, it didn’t crack i 😅 almost bust my head trying to catch it 😂
As a repair tech, it’s so much harder to repair an Apple Watch than the iPhone so it’s an understandable rate for $199. An iPhone repair takes 15 minuets whereas it still takes me up to 2 hours to do an Apple Watch, and it’s so much more delicate and fragile. Even as a guy who repairs them, I still have apple care Plus on my 2015 model, and I’ll be putting it on my Series 3
I still don't agree that $199 is a fair price to repair the Apple Watch though, Zac. Apple is undoubtedly fixing these Watches and then selling them refurbished so they're "double dipping" so-to-speak on the repair. The repair cost should at least be reworked to waive the $70 fee when one has Apple Care.
BMACadelic as far as I know however, for anything malfunctioning with the device, or any physical damage, they do just replace the device rather than repair. I don't disagree with the notion that for ones where the case is in good condition, they're just repairing and selling as refurbished. for a replacement device, I would argue that $199 without Apple Care + is a good price. and as far as a straight up repair, those screens are expensive, and the repair is hard, so we normally charge $179-$199 where I work. I personally wouldn't pay that just for a repair, but for a new device that seems relatively fair.
Looks like we agree to disagree, Zac. No worries. When the Apple Watch itself brand new costs nearly as much as the replacement price, I find the repair/replace price to be far too expensive. The thing to keep in mind is that you have to trade in your broken Watch. Therefore, receiving a brand new device while trading in your damaged device still isn't as great as it may sound to some. Might as well just purchase a brand new one outright and keep the damaged one for a backup or something of the like. Just my personal opinion. 👍🏼
Crashguard (most elegant protector esp with frames) or tempered glass (if you don't like bulky crashguard or you like it look naked ) with sport loop like anchor gray is the best
They replace the entire watch. That's why it's so expensive. Same story for the iPhone X, the only component they can separate from the phone is the display, if ANYTHING else breaks, you pay 550$ because they just replace the entire thing and give you a new one.
I loved this video and your rant. Lol. IAfter watching it, felt like I had to walk around with my hand over my watch. Lol. "Pet Alligator..." lol. Funny!
Crashguard (most elegant protector esp with frames) or tempered glass (if you don't like bulky crashguard or you like it look naked ) with sport loop like anchor gray is the best
Crashguard (most elegant protector esp with frames) or tempered glass (if you don't like bulky crashguard) with sport loop like anchor gray is the best
Technically that's a good thing. You're getting a whole new watch by spending almost half of what you paid for it and don't have to worry about other issues that might occur with bad workmanship. BUTTT yes by a money standpoint it is a lot of money.
@@Cutejess2407 Well that's the thing, you have a risk with going onto third-party resellers such as eBay to get a new watch or even Facebook marketplace but you run the risk of getting faulty or counterfeit items
Crashguard (most elegant protector esp with frames) or tempered glass (if you don't like bulky crashguard or you like it look naked ) with sport loop like anchor gray is the best
I agree with you a million percent, I also broke the Watch and I'm just shocked that cost of repair is almost as much as a new Watch . My conclusion is that Apple's Watch is one-time use, and if it is broken then it's better to throw it in the trash!
i didn't shatter my watch or drop it. but the battery inside swelled up on the first gen watch, which caused the entire screen to pop out of it's casing, just hanging on by the cable. i went to the apple store, they said $250 to replace it. i called apple support 800 number, it was free. as there was a warranty program for this situation. free shipping for the box to my home, packaged it up and dropped it off at the shipping place, got back a new one in two days. its always best to CALL all your options before you decide. i did NOT have to pay the $200 fee, or shipping. took three total days to ship it out and get my new one back. same model.
Moment please, I know, 200$ are fucking 200$ but in my opinion the Price is quite ok cause its for a new Watch.... Apple did not only repair the screen they just replace the whole Watch and give the old one into the Recyclingcircle...
I see what you're saying, but in that case it makes more sense to purchase a brand new Watch AND keep the damaged one! Maybe I should have done that, after all!
Why make it more Sense to buy a new one? The new one is a little bit more expansive and you have the Same warenty... The old one is damaged, that Apple don't repair this is a good sign for that it is no good idea to repair the damaged Watch... If anything Else is damaged the repair would be more expensiv than buy a new one and Thats Why Apple replace the whole Watch... In this case its just the better desicion to replace the whole Watch instead of to Beginn the repair only to recognize that it will be cheaper to replace the whole Watch...
If I had more money to blow, I probably would have, but most of the population can't keep affording to just purchase new Apple Watches outright when their first one breaks! I see where you're coming from, though. Thanks for commenting!
What are you going on about? There is someone who has to repair your watch, they're going to do it in one of two ways. The first is that they're going to do it in store and they're going to use parts they have on hand in order to do the repair. It's around an hour of work if everything goes well for a repair. Then you need to pay for a new LCD and digitizer for the watch. They don't just magic touch the device and make it fixed and they without a doubt don't repair devices at a loss. The other way they could do this is that they could mail the device out to an apple location that has the parts and the people who could work on it. In that case you're also going to have to think about the express shipping that goes with the parts and the work being done to the device. Also keep in mind that if they don't repair the device they typically offer you a replacement watch. I don't understand the problem that you're having.
"Going on about?" Who said anything about magic? Pretty sure what I said was a basic fact - I'm not a multi-billion dollar tech company with the resources to repair a phone. I was answering your original comment's question. I don't understand why you seem so confused. I thought I made it pretty clear in this video that I don't believe anywhere from a $120-$199 repair/replacement charge for this device is in the customer's best interest. It's pretty simple as that. If you think otherwise, you're perfectly entitled to that opinion.
So what should it cost? I don't understand what your point is. Are you saying that because they have so much money they should just pay out of pocket for your device to be fixed?
Again, I'm not the company. It is not my job to determine repair costs (doing so would be impossible as I don't have the numbers in front of me) and let's not jump to conclusions with that last statement in your comment. As a customer, it seems to be counterintuitive to market a smart watch as a "sports watch" only to have such a delicate watch (as demonstrated) cost nearly the price of a brand new Watch if it needs to be repaired. Apple Care cost to repair? ~$120. No Apple Care cost to repair? ~$199. That's counterintuitive and doesn't add up - a mere $80 difference? Come on. "Wear this watch while you're swimming or working out to track your workouts! If it bumps against a weight during workout or you hit it against the side of the pool, both of which are natural things to have happen, it'll cost $120-$199 to fix, though. Just so you know." Those prices need tweaking, what I'm saying is as simple as that. Apple Care purchasers need to be better taken care of. I love the Apple Watch, but the repair end of the device needs some major fixing (pun intended).
BMAC Well Amazon replaces it for free. I don’t know why or how, but I contacted them and told them what happened, and they sent me a new one. I bought the Pzoz case after that, and haven’t had any problems. Lesson learned though.
Got a series 6 3 days ago... broke screen today... going back to fitbit... $299 to repair my screen... apple overcharges for everything ... dont know why I switched... thought it would rugged enough since its a "sports watch"
Just recently came across your channel. Like what I've see so far so I subscribed! Finally made the decision to upgrade from a Series 0. Decided to go with the Series 3 over 4.... got it for a good deal. Anyway, I normally buy AppleCare on all of my products, but ended up buying my new watch from Target. They have a warranty program that was $77 for 2 years and no deductible if you file a claim. I haven't had any experience with it yet (knock on wood), but definitely something to check out.
I just got my Apple Watch today and I’m horrified this will happen because I was too cheap for apple care. 😂😂 Also! I love how you are very active with your audience!!
If you changed your mind, you can still purchase Apple Care! It’s still better than no coverage at all and *sometimes* Apple will work with you if you have Apple Care by waiving fees. They’re not required to, nor expected to, but they sometimes do. Either way, I recommend the case that I use! Video on my channel! Thanks, Hannah!
Hannah U i was also too cheap for apple care lol but most people have no problems and even if you did break it is there really THAT much of a difference between 120 and 199 that its worth almost certainly throwing $50 out the window
I feel your pain. My Apple Watch 3 display cracked after I purchased in two months and same thing they asked me to pay that amount after struggling with Apple support. They refused to fix it for free
The series 3 with cell is $300. 😕 but they do replace it, not repair it. Probably give you a recon but getting it “replaced” makes paying $300 a tiny bit easier to take in.
That’s why you buy a screen protector I used to have a Apple Watch Series 1 but it feel in between my bed and wall and shattered then I wore it to a rodeo and the screen fell off so that’s great then for Christmas I got a series 3 and I love it I take the best care of it
I bought the new apple watch Se for my wife. A week later , she goes to have a bath and my 3 year old takes it and drops it from 2 feet and boom shattered. I didnt get apple care cause i thought like how i have used and taken care of my nearly 2 year old series 5 she would be the same but sadly it happened and the replacement price was wow... heart breaking. Also the watch face on the SE is not as strong as the series 5 and 6 :(. I wish i knew that.
There are case protectors that are clear and cover the screen and are inexpensive. Try eBay! Anyone that has an iPhone or AW or iPad needs to put some protection on them. They are simply too expensive to use without protection!
Unfortunately, a screen protector would not have prevented the damage discussed in this video. It’s never a bad idea to use one, but it’s different on the Apple Watch.
epic watch bands has a clear bumper case for a whopping $4.99. I love my Series 4 Watch. I’m in construction. Not a chance I would walk around one of my sites without it, pretty sure if you hit the gym often, working around the weight machines and free weights, you should be thinking the same. Just A Thought.
I agree with you on your rant. It's like getting a new car cheap but the repairs are outrages. The money is not in the product but for repairs, warranties, etc.. They've got you.
@@itstheBMAC thanks, good thing I bought the applecare+ for the iwatch! I need to pay regardless but I'm not going to pay half the price of the watch. thanks for the heads up again!
Have *YOU* ever shattered/scratched your Apple Watch? If so, how? What did you decide to do about it?!
There's a reason it costs so much, they can't replace the screen they have to give you a new watch. So compared to the iPhone screen replacement cost its not too bad. $199 for a brand new product or $129 for a new piece of glass. Doesn't seem that bad to me. What do you think?
In The Netherlands I had to pay 271 EUROS!!!!!!! ($289!!!!) And NO, that was NOT for replacing the watch: it was for repairing the screen!!!
BMACadelic
Just shattered my Apple Watch this wknd... I'm gonna wait till September and hope that they'll unveil the Series 3....
I disagree, Jamaal. The $199 replacement is most likely not for a brand new product (it could be a refurbished product), and Apple is taking your damaged device, repairing that one, and most likely selling that one as a refurbished device and/or using that one for future replacement devices. It's unfortunate to hear about your Watch breaks, O and J - hopefully everything will turn out for the better!
Never shattered phone or watch. They both lived in their boxes until I bought screen protectors and cases.
Smart move. 👍🏼
Yes that’s me also.
You got to learn how to risk it for the biscuits
And by biscuit I mean losing $1,200
Same if there is no case no use
SAME!! I don't take no risks🤣
I never have gotten Apple Care and never will.
I like to live dangerously.
Psychotic Childヅ ooof.. What happened 2 weeks later ?😂
Psychotic Childヅ rip
Psychotic Childヅ I’m very sorry for your lost😔
Karen luvs Jesus damn
When your Apple Watch screen gets cracked you'll regret not having Apple care
Recently bought AW and I'm quite happy with it. But every time I hit the door frame or a wall, I am soooooo scared that it is the end.
I feel you, Matty! After breaking my first one I am much more careful and paranoid now (for better or for worse!).
Same
Can a nice protective case and put an end to your fear
I accidentally hit mine against the table and it left a tiny scratch that’s unnoticeable unless you look very closely, but I’m still kinda bummed out cus it was the second day I got it :(

Crashguard or tempered glass with sport loop like anchor gray is the best
So if you crash your car , Do you blame the manufacture once the car has a dented bumper ?
Not nearly the same situation.
Yes it is the same lol
You're certainly entitled to that belief, Steven. 👍🏼
It would be the same if to fix the bumper of a car, it cost $10,000. Dixie Normous it is... “ doofus”
Dixie Normous the edition apple watch does have have it but it has a blend of glass and saphire in it
Moral of the story? If you buy an Apple product, get Apple Care. Period.
I suppose that's never a bad idea, M, but $119 total even with Apple Care is kind of steep - I would say that's the moral of the story!

Lewis p what series and type was it????
Lewis p I think it’s gotta be within that 1 year warranty they have for all products
wtf you could nearly buy a new one
Jerry747380 lol
You might as well go get a new series 3 for $199.99
In Australia they are approx. $350.00
Tiddles A. In Australian dollars I think it would be equate out to work our to the same value.
Ive heard that it’s laggy, ofc it’s still usable

The actual thing with apple is that they don’t fix it at all they just toss it away and give u a brand new one. That why the cost is that much
My apple watches screen went today broken!:(((( I’m crying literally right now😭😭
Ughhhhh. It happens to the best of us. I hope everything works out for you!
BMAC Thanks! I hope it too!!
Wait, so how much did you have to pay to get your Apple Watch fixed? Maybe you said it somewhere in the video and I just missed it..

What screen protection do you recommend? I like the sleek look, not willing to sacrifice that. Also not interested in liquid screen protection
They also have to repair the Display. The display is OLED btw so it is a bit more expensive until someone can kill the monopoly Samsung has

I have a Apple Watch Series 3 that I ride four wheeler with and I went to clean it and dropped it face flat on a rock from about 4.5 feet and I felt my heart drop but the Apple gods where smiling on me and nothing happened
Buy crashguard or tempered glass
Sport loop os also great. The lightest.
I got triggered when you said “Metaphor” not “Simile”
Bahahahhaha I still get confused between those two!
Well, would you look at that. You [re]learn something new every day. Thanks, DD!
Same. But I occasionally say metaphor instead because "metaphor" sounds nicer.

I cracked my apple watch series 5 and I still have but I just don't use it in the water
I just pre ordered the Series 3.. with Apple Care.. it’s my first one.. should I get a case...?
A case is never a bad idea, Drew! Congrats on the Series 3!
Ben Foong does it still fit the series 3 well without issues? I was under the impression that it’s thicker with different cut outs.
nope fits it like a glove
Drew Jackson yes
Treat it like a pet alligator 😂👌🏼
Bahahahha!
My series 2 popped by it self. After 20 calls to apple they agreed to fix it with not cost. The glass shattered by itself!
Now I purchased the new generation plus apple care in case!
There ya go! Happy to hear it!
i got a screen protector, it has saved my screen from getting damaged a few times
Happy to hear! Thanks for sharing!
Take it to a reputable local Apple repair shop you’ll be charged way way less then what AppleCare would
There weren’t any available at the time of filming this video, unfortunately.
If you don’t want it too get scratched or broken then by a temper glass case for it
Apple does not fix the watch you take in, they simply replace it with a refurbished one that is why they charge $199.
Still far too expensive in my opinion, Alfredo!
Alfredo Ibarra which is annoying in itself. My iPad was replaced in warranty because the battery was swollen and caused the device to separate, and they gave me a refurbished one, which now doesn't hold a charge....when my other one was in perfect working order, except the separation at the side. 😡
No one fucking cares about your Samsung
no, they dont not replace it with a refurbished one. Don't spread lies
then take it back... and tell them you are still having issues. I would not keep something that has a bad battery.
Loved this video!!😂😂 i get it‼️ i remember the first time i dropped my iPhone i thought i was going to die but, it didn’t crack i 😅 almost bust my head trying to catch it 😂
Glad you liked the video!
Me too 😂
I would recommend the armor shield screen protector for the Apple Watch. It will protect it and it looks like it’s not there
Thank you! I believe that’s the same one I have tried and enjoyed!
There is super thin hydrogen protection kinda like glass but less bulky
And it self heals xD and it super cheap too
I'll have to check it out!
Yeah but for a iPhone they still charge you a crazy price I just keep the cracks
I’m going to buy one in 22 days and I’m happy to see this because I now know to clean it when I come home so I don’t drop it
I hope this video helps prevent any future accidents!
And that’s series 1...imagine series 5
Just happend to me

i have apple care on my series 5 and there’s a case on it
My Series 3 cracked and broke less 6 months I bought it...
Shattered my iWatch due to a faulty third party band. I still use it. Its a nice conversation starter.
I agree, Fred! It's a great conversation starter!
Fred Fonacier IT'S THE APPLE WATCH NOT IWATCH
Look at my broken watch!!! Ok..... lol
It shattered becuase you call it an Iwatch
wtf is an iwatch
Thanks for the warning I just bought my Apple Watch yesterday and denied apple care! Any recommendations for a screen protector?

Crashguard (most elegant protector esp with frames) or tempered glass (if you don't like bulky crashguard or you like it look naked ) with sport loop like anchor gray is the best
They replace the entire watch. That's why it's so expensive. Same story for the iPhone X, the only component they can separate from the phone is the display, if ANYTHING else breaks, you pay 550$ because they just replace the entire thing and give you a new one.
I know that they replace the entire watch - the points made in this video were still with that in mind.
I’ve got separate insurance. I chipped my first Apple Watch whilst climbing up a wall and they charged me £25 service charge
That’s good!
I loved this video and your rant. Lol. IAfter watching it, felt like I had to walk around with my hand over my watch. Lol. "Pet Alligator..." lol. Funny!
Ahahahahha! Thank you! Glad you liked it!

I’ve smashed two Apple Watch screens, not getting another one because of the high cost repair
Tim Mckay Maybe you should be a little more careful with your belongings.
Tim Mckay maybe you should get AppleCare,
It’s high cost because you’re irresponsible for not getting protection for it or taking care of it.
Which series is that? I’m contemplating getting an Apple Watch.
The one in this video is a Series 1 - more info in the video description box!
They don’t even repair it anymore! They replace the whole thing and charge you for it!
Technically that's a good thing. You're getting a whole new watch by spending almost half of what you paid for it and don't have to worry about other issues that might occur with bad workmanship. BUTTT yes by a money standpoint it is a lot of money.
@@thetechman2970 it’s definitely not half the price when you can go to eBay and pay less for second hand almost new lol
@@Cutejess2407 Well that's the thing, you have a risk with going onto third-party resellers such as eBay to get a new watch or even Facebook marketplace but you run the risk of getting faulty or counterfeit items

I'm gonna help you with this big man, the smaller the pc hardware usually the more it's gonna cost to fix it.
Still seems counterintuitive to me, 29kalel, especially when it comes to how Apple Care is handled, but thanks for watching and commenting!
Can you fix it
I just got a Apple Watch Series 5 yesterday and I have 2 year Apple care and I have a case so I’m extra careful
The thing is...
THE APPLE WATCH'S SCREEN IS MADE OUT OF REAL SAPPHIRE.
No, not all models unfortunately.
Actually it's a mix of sapphire of and other hardened minerals. They just say it's mostly sapphire because that is appealing
It is was sapphire it wouldn’t have broke.
Thats not it tho they replace the whole watch and its internals because they physically cant change *ONLY* the screen and glass.
WOLFIE GURL coz it had scratches a level 7 and deeper groves at level 8
Everyone. Get a screen protector
Unfortunately, that conclusion does make some sense! Crazy to think. Thank you for watching!
Drop a Rolex for the next video.
I wouldn’t drop a watch like that intentionally.
This is the funniest video I've seen
😂😂😁😁👍👍
Happy to hear it!
i didn't shatter my watch or drop it. but the battery inside swelled up on the first gen watch, which caused the entire screen to pop out of it's casing, just hanging on by the cable. i went to the apple store, they said $250 to replace it. i called apple support 800 number, it was free. as there was a warranty program for this situation. free shipping for the box to my home, packaged it up and dropped it off at the shipping place, got back a new one in two days. its always best to CALL all your options before you decide. i did NOT have to pay the $200 fee, or shipping. took three total days to ship it out and get my new one back. same model.
Thank you for sharing! Luckily it was an issue covered under warranty!
😂😂😂Thanks for your insight!
Happy to help!
Moment please,
I know, 200$ are fucking 200$ but in my opinion the Price is quite ok cause its for a new Watch....
Eddy E. B
Is it possible to get screen protectors for the Apple Watch to give it less of a chance of shattering?
I am yet to find one that I can fully recommend but, when I do, I will certainly make a video about it, Sam!
Have you ever repaired a phone? It's hard.
I have not, but I'm not a multi-billion dollar tech company with the resources to easily be able to do so, my dude.
Had the damned thing 3 days and just watched it on the kitchen floor 💀
Ughhhhh. Nooooo!
BMAC Well Amazon replaces it for free. I don’t know why or how, but I contacted them and told them what happened, and they sent me a new one. I bought the Pzoz case after that, and haven’t had any problems. Lesson learned though.

Thank you for the kind words and thanks for commenting!
Hannah U don’t feel bad I did the same thing with my series 3 I bought it and didn’t buy the Apple care not everyone is rich.
Hannah U i was also too cheap for apple care lol but most people have no problems and even if you did break it is there really THAT much of a difference between 120 and 199 that its worth almost certainly throwing $50 out the window

Muhammad Rasheed same here bro 💔💔
The series 3 with cell is $300. 😕 but they do replace it, not repair it. Probably give you a recon but getting it “replaced” makes paying $300 a tiny bit easier to take in.
Ehhhhhh. I totally hear you, but $300 is way too steep for me. I’d rather save money and pay for a repair.
Did the same thing, a repost for my series 5 is 300
My apple watch screen didn’t crack. But the bottom side of the watch where you charge the watch cracked. Is it okay?

Screen protectors unfortunately won’t always protect against shatters.
How about the corrosion that appears at the back and the sides of the apple watch? Is it covered with warranty?
I don’t experience any corrosion.
