Whilst every style of beer explained may not be all the craft beer channel may not be about, looking in to how you've been drinking beer wrong your entire life, how beer is made, brewing your first homemade beer, talking to beer experts, identifying cheap vs expensive beers, price points, and answering beer questions from brewmasters is all a part of my real ale craft beer journey.
My aunty had a cottage down the road from Tan Hill stayed lots as a kid, remember in the 80s my mum dad said a guy nearly died from hypothermia broke down in snow⊠they got him in Tan Hill warmed him up. I visited again few years ago with my daughter. Amazing place. Cosy near the fire. Nice video nice to see it again. Canât believe how busy it is!! Love it with a band! Also got a record called tan hill pub from the 80s.
I'm loving how many people have knowledge and experience of this place! And as you say fantastic to see a boozer doing so damn well. They've got something really special there, long may it continue! Cheers!
Fantastic video Tom, you're giving me so many ideas for things to do on my 'out and about' videos, looks like you all had a great time
Ah cheers mate! Glad to be of some inspiration, looking forward to seeing what you do. We had a blast thanks!
1 minute in and Garfield looks absolutely done đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
It get's hot in the van, he's baked! (ba-dum-dum-cha)
Good choice of venue, the fire burns strong even in the height of summer! Great to see OP 'from the wood' still going, I once supped 6 pints at Tan Hill and had the weirdest dreams ever that night đ
Hahaha, yeah that OP has something about it, that's for sure! And yeah the fire was just relentless even when it was 25c on the Sunday. I'm starting to wonder if that fire is the actual source of the Olympic Flame! đ
Really enjoyed that video. Great filming đđ». The food đ€€đ€€. OMG . Looks like a great place . Cheers đ»
Cheers matey! Yeah it was all very good indeed! Strongly recommend a visit!

Wow thanks for sharing
One of my dreams is to visit the Yorkshire and the Tan Hill Inn
Merry Christmas and my best from Italy đ
You are welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it - I hope you get to visit Tan Hill one day. And a very Merry Christmas to you too! Grazie mille!
In case you didn't know already... Great book by a previous custodian of the Tan Hill: 'The Inn At The Top'. Thought about sharing a joke about Morris dancers and decided it was in danger of being interpreted in ways that are far too prevalent on t' web... Great review - honest and hence useful!
Ahh awesome, I'll check the book out! I now want to know the joke even more đ And thank you - yep always as honest as possible, it's not really very helpful otherwise! Cheers!
Good to see Tim Hortons spreading across the UK. It's our breakfast place here in western Canada. People ask why there is no apostrophe in Hortons. There was, but Quebec province does not like English business names so the apostrophe vanished. Mc Donald's is pretty small beer here. They do not have the clout that they have in the UK. Here it is A&W or if you want to go to Heaven, Dairy Queen burgers and a milk shake. Great video .I always wanted to visit this pub but never did. I am with you totally on the Morris Men. Heavily built guys with bells on their shoes, beating smaller guys with sticks and kicking them, needs a police investigation.....but then they probably are police.
That description of Morris Men has absolutely killed me đ€Ł - I don't think our Tim Hortons is quite the quality or varied menu as the real-deal in Canada from what I've been told but it's a welcome option given just how poor the rest of our fast-food drive through places are. Cheers!
Looks fantastic, might have to venture up sometime, preferably in the week though đđŒ
Yeah we've already said we'll try and sneak up mid-week at some point! They have so many gigs on at weekends (literally every Fri and Sat for 3 months is what they were showing).
Do they still hold the annual sheep show? I went there for the show in 1964 or 65. It was an amazing experience with farmers bringing Swaledale sheep from all over. I was with a farmer from Rosedale on the North York Moors.
Great question! Iâll be honest I havenât seen anything about it but I wouldnât be surprised if there were. Still plenty of flocks knocking about for sure. Iâll be back there in a few weeks so will keep my eyes peeled!
Again, jealous of the Crumby. Always wanted to visit while Iâm up North, especially in Winter with all the stories of being snowed in. I can think of worse places to be stuck đ
Oh yes, getting stuck in the snow there would be far from hardship! It's worth a visit mate, really is. Cheers!
Tom how high do you need to be at the highest pub?
As high as Garfield.
@@TheCrumbyBeard that's really high
