All of this actually fits in a backpack, which still kinda blows my mind... This is the gear I use. I didn't have most of it when starting on CZcams, so I just want to make it clear that you don't need all this gear. Good videos are good because of content, not because of gear. That said, good tools are helpful for getting the job done.

It's easy to get carried away when it comes to gear. I try my best to keep things minimal so I thought you might be interested in what I use, especially when it comes to finding the balance between video quality and space-saving. In order of importance it's always AUDIO > LIGHTING > CAMERA QUALITY.
(I've listed everything in the video description along with budget alternatives. Back up your stuff at www.backblaze.com/danieltitchener)
Ooooh... something happen with your page. It's on "page not found" mode 😟
Your channel is too underrated… You deserve much more viewers and subs with that high content and production quality.
Thanks so much, Justin! 😊
Yeaaah a backpack video!!!!
Really great finds to simplify into a backpack! Great work.
So many incredible ideas in this video, Daniel. Absolutely love it!
Thank You for all of your videos that you did. I am enjoying all of them
Wow this is so impressive!! Best compact setup video I’ve seen. Awesome!
An exciting, concrete, practical video that I have watched several times. Thank you very much. A greeting from France
As always, a wonderfully informative video. Thanks for all of the ideas.
This was outstanding Daniel thank you for the details about your equipment, inspiring to see what is behind the scenes for us aspiring video creators.
Thanks Van!
I wish ppl would talk more about cooling a room especially for ppl that live i hotter states/countries without compromising audio quality. From expensive to cheap but still just as effective
This is such a useful video for us youtubers, packed into your usual clean and elegant style. Thank you for revealing us your setup.
I've been following you since literally your first video, before it blew up in the algorithm. I remember struggling to believe that such a high quality video had only a couple of thousand views. Luckily things went into place soon for you.
Best greetings from Italy! Mary Jane
That's so cool. Congrats for your organization. I do live streaming in events and meetings so I also but everything in a backpack a little bigger than yours and keeps me really focused
Very helpful ! Your channel will definitely grow so much with this high-quality content.
Very informative, as always! 👍🏻❤️
My equipment is just an iPhone, a small tripod, and a lavalier clip-on microphone.
Edit: I'm not a CZcamsr.
Wow! This is mind-blowing after watching a couple videos about youtube setups. I really fancy your light solution. Thnx for all the info!
Great to see you posting despite being a father. Excellent idea for a video and you certainly deliver once again.
Thanks so much! 😊
Amazing video quality and amazing videos, you made me discover a passion for minimalistic design!
Been waiting for your video! Keep making good content. Greetings from Indonesia!
Loved your take on a minimal studio. Looking to trim my studio down, and this was a great watch. Thanks!
Love this! As a fellow YT-er, I'm always curious how others record their videos. It's remarkable how it all fits in one bag, but I do wonder: will you actually be traveling with the whole setup? I'm getting anxious just thinking about the backpack getting lost and it isn't even mine 😬!
I've also put in so much time researching gear before I even started, but - constrained by my budget - ended up using my newly bought iPhone 12 Pro to shoot in 4K. I'm actually blown away by the quality of the footage especially after light color correction), as long as the lighting is decent.
I have a couple of mics, but right now I'm using a lavalier mic. I agree with you, reliability is an issue. I've tried different methods (taped to my chest; clipped on t-shirt; etc), but ended up clipping it on a buttoned shirt. I'm actually content with the current setup because there's already a ton that I can learn this way.
They say it's not the camera, but the what you _do_ with the camera, that makes the difference. And that's what I can play with. Over time, as my channel (hopefully) grows, I hope to upgrade my gear. Then I may look into shooting in s-log and a boom mic.
So true! Sounds like a great approach Peter. 😊
*Alright I think I’m at 2 backpacks? Is that solid? 😂*
Thanks for listing out your equipment. Just bought the shotgun mic and audio recorder based on your advice to improve my CZcams setup.
Your video quality is amazing, and also your personality.
Another great video!
this is very helpful, thank you !
Man I wait like days for you u to upload, such a great vid
Thanks man!
Hey I managed to fit every single item you recommended into the bag, it’s possible. Thanks for the recommendation I bought it all
I do love your style and work folw, im kinda like you with wanting the most out of very little (maybe its a studio flat thing) but i just wanted to say thanks for the video
Great video !!!!! I can’t apply 100% because I have to take photography gear into account but some will really be useful .
Greetings From Angola
Awesome 🔥
Hi Daniel love your videos, and enjoy this video how you explain the whole concepts of your gear to make your videos, but can you do a Q&A video about family life in your new home and include family members especially the baby😎😉😊
Q&A is definitely coming soon!
Great video on compacting your youtube A/V kit - but we definitely have very different definitions of "more affordable" so I appreciate that you also recommend just using your phone cam if you're just starting out. XD
am not an architect nor a content creator, not a single creative gene in me, but I really enjoyed this vid, watched it many times; no clue why 😄 Thank you and keep it coming.
Fantastic video and exactly what I was looking for. I'm curious if that 24mm TSE is an example of gear you thought you needed and now weighs you down?
you inspire me
As a random guy with money that just bought all the stuff for his yt setup- I would say this video was the only one I needed to watch haha
I just took my osmo 6 back to Best Buy. Invest in lighting FIRST!! It’s makes an a** load of difference.
For the longest time I relied on my phone and a go pro for footage. I recently bought a Sony z v1 and even that made things complicated 😂😂😂
As a minimalist who is always trying to find the most compact video setup, this video is super helpful! Question: which picture profile are you using with the Sony A7siii? I have the A6400 and A7C but might one day upgrade to the A7siii
I Fit My Entire CZcams Studio Inside my Mind
Love the concept!! 👍 But is the full soft box in that backpack? Is your camera in the backpack? It looked to me like maybe no on both counts…
Ok I see it now at 8:06 you showed camera very briefly, I missed it first watch through…
So needed this. Profound reminder. Definitely need to downsize 🤭
To avoid future headaches get a travel insurance for your gear. Better be safe than sorrow with airlines handling.
As minimalist Thank you I just bought everything. I tried using all your link but some did not lead me to the specific thing(had to find them myself) I think you should edit the link so you cut paid too. I wish you had a video where you who is the angle you set the lighting
Dear Daniel, Could you enlighten me, with what gears (Camera, Lens, Stand) we can buy to shoot compact space like washrooms.
Where is your shirt from? Love the way the color is structured, looks like it could survive a few washes (unlike my luck with most of the popular brands).
Link is in the video description 😊
@@DanielTitchener Oh man you were ready with the link and promo! Was there a video I missed? Cheers!
What would say is the total cost of all that equipment? Makes for a good starter pack👌🏼
Haven't added it up, but I'm pretty sure my camera body cost more than everything else put together, whilst arguably being the least important thing... 😅
what are your thoughts on a6400?
Some of the light links aren't working...
Step 1: install YT Studio
Step 2: put phone in backpack
Step 3: big brain
if you use this for travel where to you keep the rest of the stuff you need?
clearly this bag isn't enough.
I'm probably super off here... but I noticed you say squid a lot. Where do you live where you are paying 30 squid for anything? Is this the fabled Atlantis?
Warning : ZV-E10 has a terrific rolling shutter.
Horrible if you want to vlog or don't use a gimble.
Why mention being v@x’ed
